Here's another thought (just my opinion) but that what everyone is saying is a dead reaper behind Liara is actually alive? (control) but as some posters have said just like DA dragon keep where we can design our world state to avoid a outright cannon to fulfill that which ending going forward to the next installment only time will tell The one in the background seems heavily damaged, with its guts kinda hanging out. Wires and shit. Maybe it was picked apart, while in stasis, but I doubt anyone would dare disturb it, even in stasis. Control means new directives, not allowing organics to do whatever they want to it, including using it for salvage. So possible, but I find it unlikely and doesn't account for a Synthesis one. If it were to be "ambiguous" then it would ambiguously include a Synthesis scenario. And I doubt gutting a living machine would go that well. Ya got me there for me its hard to see at that size

Maybe?
If game is set 600 years after ME3, aka ME Andromeda present, we may see Andromeda crew back by connecting Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies via Mass Relays.
I hope that's the case but on the other he's intentionally say that. What sirpetrakus said though makes me feel awful. At this point I'm gonna wait and see. If he’s seriously saying this and clearly stringing MEA fas along just to troll that’s really messed up.

Call me crazy but... Doesn't this actually look like a reaper...? Coincidence..? (if you can't see it, legs are on the bottom right) That is 100% legion Well; stars in shape to look like him. It’s probably to make it hurt more that the AI are dead I should stop looking at that image. Right now I'm seeing some Asari eyes in the upper section of that cluster.

I wouldn't be surprised if the trailer was just them fishing for ideas. Put some vague crap in, hint at a few things, see how people respond in order to craft your plans.

I did not think they would release a teaser so soon, especially after the latest brain drain.
Also between this and the trilogy remake, they are trying really hard to win us back.

It's better to keep your expectations in check cause even if we might think the crew will come back, we might get another. The Andromeda crew has no reason to be in a planet where Liara and a bunch of dead Reapers are. Unless this is a post credit scene of the next game. We won't get such a development in books or comic books, before the game, unless there is a large enough time skip, where then Ryder and co. will no longer be relevant to the time line. Unless the Initiative, splintered with scarce resources and manpower can afford to make a relay, experimental or not, with zero knowledge carried over from the Milky Way and zero knowledge having developed on that front in the first Andromeda ... I'll just say that it would be a stretch to start the game, right off the bat and "here's a relay, whoops, we're in the Milky Way now". You build up to it throughout the game as the big thing the Initiative is building to and you power it up after the end of the game. This game will be set in the Milky Way, you will get a new crew, but you will see the Andromeda cast. The Trilogy cast is gone and done, except maybe Grunt. I don't think this is what people want to hear, but I think it's very possible.
The Mudskipper is very prominent in marketing so far and I believe it is the PC's new ship. Shepard and Ryder are identified with their ships, the Normandy and Tempest. There is no reason for them to have a new ship. The drell, quarian, salarian, and krogan (plus whoever else has been shown) are obviously the Mudskipper's crew, and the species makeup doesn't fit either Shepard or Ryder's crew. This makes me believe we will have a new protagonist for this game who is neither Shepard nor Ryder with a new crew (possibly including Grunt or Urdnot Mordin). It doesn't rule out either Shepard or Ryder as the protagonist for ME6, so no need to get too upset yet. (I would bet on Ryder over Shepard if either return, though, because Shepard would have to be Duncan Idaho-ing it up without her crew, which just feels wrong.) My guess is that the Mudskipper crew (including the new PC) are agents of the Shadow Broker (Liara). I still think the game will take place in the MEA timeline and reuniting the two galaxies will be a plot point. (If, on the other hand, it's set closer to the time of the Reaper War, then Shepard and crew will be off screen doing something above the current protagonist's pay grade.)
The ending scene could be the current PC jumping from the MW to Andromeda and being greeted by Ryder on the far side to set up ME6.
I know this doesn't satisfy most of the people in the fanbase, but this is the vibe I'm getting from what we've seen so far. I'll reserve judgment, although I was hoping for a protagonist to follow for several games with decisions carried over from game to game like the OT. I prefer one PC and crew to the DA "let's have a new protagonist every game" idea.

I expect a new protagonist, always have. I think Shepard will be in the story, the N7 thing is hard core trolling you fans if he's not. But I suspect his role will be limited, maybe as a background character, more general sending people off than soldier.

We really know absolutely nothing. Maybe it's in an entirely new galaxy altogether. Neither Milky Way nor Andromeda. Dead Reapers. Right there in the trailer. Unless Reapers are now present in multiple galaxies? Actually, forget I typed that. Shouldn't give them ideas. They lived in Dark Space, they could have invaded other galaxies.

Wanting more Andromeda at this point is stupid. That would be suicide for the series.

I hope that's the case but on the other he's intentionally say that. What sirpetrakus said though makes me feel awful. At this point I'm gonna wait and see. If he’s seriously saying this and clearly stringing MEA fas along just to troll that’s really messed up. They’re tweeting and liking comments that keep every options ‘open’. They’re liking comments about NME being a direct sequel to ME3, as well. What Gamble said in regards of ‘intentional’ is about showing the two galaxies together at the start and using a catchphrase for the Tempest. It could be for a myriad of reason. Based on something else that he said, when replying to another dev, is that the characters in the background are already thought of, and he questioned if people could find out who they are. It could be simple teasing, but he also said that the trailer has many hidden things. So, who knows? I’m not discounting any possible scenario, because the scene in the teaser, even if true, could be written and constructed to have different meanings. But I’d suggest to everyone to not build up any expectations on the kind of plot that NME will follow...as many gaming sites are also making by saying it seems a straight sequel to ME3. I wouldn't be surprised if the trailer was just them fishing for ideas. Put some vague crap in, hint at a few things, see how people respond in order to craft your plans. Apparently, they seem to have thought about it through, and have already a clear idea about it. But it’s unlikely we’ll ever know, because it’s so vague that it can mean anything, and whatever they’ll show next could very well go along with the teaser. I mean, the teaser doesn’t discount any option, for example, about the protagonist, or even the setting itself. The only things somehow clear is that Liara appears to be old, and that there are dead/damaged Reapers around her.

It’s still years away, even if I agree on your asssement on the hidden things in the teaser. I don’t think there are chances for DA4 to be released next year. Even if it’s entirely feasible to have a marketing campaign starting and ending directly next year, EA told us with the investors’ conference that it wouldn’t come up before 2022...before the pandemic fully hit.

The earliest release is 2023, and that’s a generous one. I think that's still too generous. It's possible DA4 will release in (Q1) 2023. I'm going to go with no sooner than 2025-6. Yeah 2025 is what popped into my head. Awful to think about but seems likely based on DA4 release trajectory and the way they seem to operate now. I definitely miss the days of getting a new ME or DA every year or two.

I think 2024 but I might be hopeful in that regard.

Remember when BioWare said they would start teasing games only a few months to a year before release? That was funny. Now they’re teasing games half a decade away

Now they’re teasing games half a decade away I appreciate they are actively releasing material to show the dev process but I also have to wonder what the point is in releasing these cinematic trailers (which won't look like the actual game at all) when the actual game for both ME and DA is years away. I would rather they just announce something ~six months before release to get the hype train going. At least then we wouldn't be going around in circles speculating on things that might get chopped/changed in the game that is released.
