Plus Shep's at Earth, not some ice planet. You are aware that Earth is covered in ice at both ends, aren't you? Sure hope that Liara is not a LI. Don't need THAT nightmare again... Imagine if Bioware pushed her at Ryder or a new protagonist like they pushed her on Shepard So it looks like the reapers are dead, as they should be. Good. Thank zombie Christ they didn’t do a midquel or prequel or some such nonsense. Before the details about going to Andromeda were revealed there was speculation that ME4 would feature a new protagonist and crew during the events of the reaper war You know, just because Liara is in the trailer doesn't mean she'll be in the game in all galaxy states. The ME3 trailers used Ashley even though she had a fifty percent chance of being dead. I remember some Kaidan fans pitching a fit because Ashley was in the FemShep trailer instead of him, stating that if was proof that Bioware hated female gamers, if they hated female gamers they wouldn't have made a FemShep trailer and not everyone who played FemShep romanced him, some FemShep players are lesbians and he's not even the most popular straight romance for FemShep I still think the armor belongs to one of the Ryders or someone else otherwise related to the Andromeda Initiative. Could be Dad Ryder's Liara is pregnant and carries a new Shepard. Is as good as clone because mind melt Shepard memories go in too. Not everyone romanced Liara and if she became pregnant by a Shepard who didn't romance her it would be beyond gross She can be pregnant when she wants. She has all memories stored. Who cares when some Shepard romanced some Bantha in someone's fantasy - the trilogy went down the drain and a story has to be written. If she became pregnant with the child of a Shepard who didn't romance her it would be without their consent which would make her a rapist Well it does now. Deal with it. Why are you so insistent on making Liara a rapist? There’s a possibility here that Gamble’s post means this really is an Andromeda sequel. It’s possible that Liara either decades or centuries after ME3 has organized a new ark. There's a reference in the trailer to a sixth ark, there were only five arks in the Andromeda Initiative, turian, salarian, human, asari and quarian/drell/batarian Indeed but hyperion from what they say was like an ark, cause it had humans, asari, turians, krogans in it I'm not sure though. Hyperion is the human ark, you're thinking of the Nexus Yeah, and both poles are nowhere near London.

Shepard was in space above Earth, not in London. Besides that planet on the trailer has 3 satelites, that is not Earth. This is a weird discussion to have...

Ahem. It took 600 years for the Ai to reach Andromeda, and they were in cryo pods during the trip. If Liara is 600 years older than she was at the end of ME3, Ryder & crew are just arriving in Andromeda and coming out of their cryo pods. That's probably why people are quoting the 600 year figure, and talking about some sort of intergalactic relay. Care to explain where they are getting relay based technology in Andromeda? There have been various theories floated that it could come from either side. -- Post reaper war, TMW scientists learn more reaper tech and are able to design and build a relay to Andromeda. -- Ai members in Andromeda might find the tech among artifacts left by the Jardaan / remnant. The Ai took a QEC with them. If its mate in TMW survived, info could be exchanged. I don't remember much else about the other theories I've read.

I don't feel that way. I think, as others have implied, Liara is becoming the Varric of Mass Effect, which would separate her from a specific PC and turn her into a symbol of the series itself. I don't think that's a good thing necessarily, but it's not them hinting at Shepard. Indeed. If you look at it, Shepard is most definitely not hinted at, at all, but it isn't what the rest of the people think. And Bioware would have expected that, people running off with "Liara and Shepard are definitely back" narrative, because that's what they want. So when Bioware goes "well, akshually, they aren't", those people are going to feel cheated and they are going to bring pitchforks. The whole internet is abuzz with Shepard coming back.

I wonder if this will only be for the newer consoles. When will developers stop creating games for the last gen (PS4/Xbox One) and create games exclusively for next gen? Soon, even if that wasn't Microsoft/Sony's plan from what I remember. I expect anything released post-2021 on the PS4/XboxOne will be delayed games. Two games released this last few weeks are mess on those console but run fine on new gen (in backward compatibility) and PC so... But the next ME game is years away so you should wonder if there's going to be new new consoles by then, not if it will run on old old hardware... That's if I can finally buy one of the newer consoles. When will ever restock? Maybe never. They can't stay in stock for a longer period of time before the scalpers get there filthy hands on them.

I think people are missing a key thing here: money.
There is a trilogy remaster coming out next year which will createa whole new fan base for shep and the milky way, along with re-energizing the old fan base.
The teaser clearly ties into that with its post ME3 hints. Why on earth would EA throw all that new hype away to release a game set in, or heavily featuring, andromeda - which like it or not was a critical and relative commercial flop, which now mainly is remembered for animation memes.
It doesn't make commercial sense, and one thing EA knows is how to make money.

Bioware can't be expected to protect against every single conclusion any fan comes to. If it were some sort of consensus I'd acquiesce.

Reaper tech among Jardaan ruins? That implies that the Jardaan created the Reapers not the Leviathans -nope not giving the crap-child the credit. Please no.
Or Jardaan tech. The tech in question is something that could transfer matter between galaxies. Right so possible other means of travel besides Mass Relays? You mean Hyperspace, FTL Jumping, Warp Drive, Slipstream, Wormhole/Stargate...
Or maybe they have: FYI: A Closed-State Bubble within a Closed Timelike Bridged Wormhole
Please don't tell me the Jardaan are the Alterrans or the Gallifreyans. We would be leaving the basis of the Mass Effect Universe in that aspect. Though they could build massive ships that would act as a Relay: A giant air craft carrier with an embedded relay that would slingshot a ship the way a Relay really would.
I wonder if they remember how energized the ME3 endings left the fans? Hmm... I wonder if the new folks who discover ME for the first time with the LE are going to (ahem) be energized in the same way? Maybe not, since a lot of them will have been warned... Another generation that is going to be scarred one way or another... Unless the modding community figures out how to mod the LE and bring everything they have currently released to the Legendary Edition. Though I find that highly unlikely if not impossible.

I do think that one potential reason that the fanbase can get behind in killing her is if she is a Reaper Sleeper Agent.

Nah. Cerberus is done. They got destroyed when Shepard and company attacked their last base before the main battle against the Reapers over Earth.
And about Liara we can just accept it, either one like her or not. She is almost as iconic to the series as Shepard and the N7 symbol. Between this and her longevity if this really takes place long after ME3 it makes sense she would be the bridge between the old and new stories Bioware wants to tell.

Bioware can't be expected to protect against every single conclusion any fan comes to. If it were some sort of consensus I'd acquiesce. I'm not talking about "here", I'm talking about the normies who saw the trailer and didn't put too much thought into it. All my friends are saying "Shepard and the old crew are back" because of the trailer, other communities are saying that, the gaming media is saying that, literally everyone except the specialized fandoms are saying that. And even among us, the ones that do know what's going on, a lot of people aren't thrilled about it.

Cerberus is an idea and it shall be shoehorned into Mass effect in some form. Embrace the Suck and accept that Cerberus like biotics will always be a part of Mass Effect. Cerberus was more akin to a personality cult that only existed because of its charismatic leader TIM. Without him there is no Cerberus.

But can you kill idea? also Can you talk Mac Walters and others within Bioware to not shoehorn Cerberus into Mass Effect? It is like beating a Dead Horse trope. it always happen regardless of what we say.
