Oh, thank the godess they dropped the whole Andromeda plot-nightmare! This feels like the old times a little bit! There are also references to Andromeda in the teaser, and they were intentional, by Gamble’s tweet. They basically made the teaser and tweeted to leave people in limbo for the next two years.

I'm so excited! They made Refuse canon! I don’t see how, if anything, it appears Destroy could be canon. Also, Gamble confirmed that there’s a Reaper in the shot where Liara finds the N7 piece. The plot thickens! I don't want to get my hopes up for an Andromeda sequel only for all his tweets to mean nothing. |

Ugh Liara. Though I have to wonder based on what was going on in the trailer if this does not take place in the middle of the Shep trililogy. First vibe I got was her looking for Shepard hence dusting off the N7 bit. I would doubt the next ME game would be a prequel...and there are references to Andromeda. Besides, Gamble confirmed that Liara was waking on a dead Reaper (if I get right the shot And tweet I posted).

Didn;'t listen to it with audio still need to do that later but just had to see if my least favorite Asari was really back in it. With the flashbacks to the early years (first contact, Arcturus Station), I'm starting to wonder if maybe, maybe time travel will be involved to smooth over the transition to a post-ME3 galaxy.  I love time travel! But a time travel plot is difficult to write well. It is. Liara showing up here (assuming it's her) is also noteworthy as she can die the MET. She's "quantum" as BW likes to put it. Though as a teaser for a game some years out yet, she might just be there as a nod to the original trilogy.

Considering the huge mess ME3 endings left, and MEA's reception, I'm willing to give the writers some breathing room with the lore just to get things back on track and have a fun game. It seems like they may try to please everyone by having both galaxies brought together but we'll see. Sometimes trying to please everyone ends up leaving no one happy.

I find it more likely they finally decided to pick a canon ending to continue the series.  My guess is Destroy ending since the dead reapers on this nameless planet (matriarch?) Liara is searching for Shepard. As long as they find a way to retcon the Geth dying in this ending i won't mind it. Maybe the Catalyst was lying or crazy admiral Xen found a way to save the Geth.  Anyway it is really nice to be back on business with a oficial announcement!

If Andromeda going to be ignored then it really shows what Bioware thinks about Andromeda fans. What about when BioWare abandoned Andromeda after less than a year with no single player DLC (despite what was promised)? Not saying that Andromeda is going to be ignored but I would think their ditching the game like a sinking ship would speak more to their opinion on Andromeda than anything in this trailer (IMO).

I have no idea what this actually means. ...Beyond new Mass Effect. And stastically, I'm likely enjoy that, no matter what they go with. They're four for four on my little serotonin box. Since the game's very early, it wouldn't surprise me if it's Liara. Eyebrows, freckles, checks out. But it ALSO wouldn't surprise me if it's a different asari. I want Andromeda 2. Part of what makes Mass Effect for me is the "series with the same characters" aspect. It keeps me coming back to it, and it'll salt my tea if Andromeda doesn't get that. ...But even my least favorite Mass Effect content (Pinnacle Station) has brought me an iota of joy, so I'll buckle in for it. It's like the XCOM franchise for me at this point. I know I'm liable to enjoy it even if the initial concept has me going "The heck are they doing?" Very much this. I'll look forward to it because it's an ME game, that'll never change, but I'll be very disappointed if the Andromeda story line, and it's cast of characters, are left by the wayside.
We'll have to wait and see, I suppose.

He also said it doesn’t mean that it has the meaning of the game being a sequel to both ME3 and MEA, although it could very well be. My guess is that they wanted to keep people in a limbo, because the teaser could be interpreted in a multitude of ways. Something already said here but also noticed on Twitter, it’s that Liara does appear to be older, by checking the lines under her eyes.
