I'm guessing it's the Milky Way 650 years post Reaper War and some communication or transport between Andromeda and the MW will be possible.
Liara will be at least 750 years old and won't be a love interest. Possibly an advisor or boss (taking over Hackett's role).
Her smile could just be nostalgia. Frankly, much as I love Shepard, I don't want her alive if Garrus has been dead for 500 years.
The Krogan in the background could be Grunt or less likely Urdnot Mordin.
I'm pretty sure the Quarian Ark was the 5th Ark, not the 6th (Turian, Asari, Salarian and Human were 1-4 and Quarian was 5), so maybe Ark 6 brought the technology to make a galaxy hopping mass relay to Andromeda.
I think I heard the Catalyst and FemShep during the jumble of voices at the end. Not sure what they said. Also an unknown male voice, not BroShep.
Looks pretty likely that the Mudskipper will be our vessel, with a Salarian, Krogan, Drell, Female Quarian, human and possibly Angara on the squad. I don't think Shepard will be the protagonist and there will probably be huge backlash over it. Doesn't mean Shepard can't be recovered as part of the plot or something, but s/he probably won't be playable this go-around.

I disagree. Shepard, regardless of your playthrough, is half machine and he can easily be alive, or brought back to life. Once again Shepard appears to have fallen onto a frozen tundra and his organics are probably perfectly salvageable

This was my initial thought as well. But from the Mass Effect Wiki, the Nexus is considered to be the flagship Ark. So by that calculation, having the Quarian ark as number 6 makes sense. |

Since Andromeda took place ~640 years after the Reaper war, any sequel would have to be at least that long after the OT. Liara has crows feet and smile lines, so she looks like she could be a 750-ish. She is picking up a piece of destroyed N7 armor, which implies she isn't about to go hang out with Shepard back on the Mudskipper. Yes, Shepard can be recovered and brought back again, but I don't think Bioware is going to go in that direction initially if at all. It's just me speculating, though.
Tom Taylorson (Ryder's VO) just Tweeted a couple hours ago about how Mike Gamble following him would have been unthinkable to 2015 Tom Taylorson. The tweet he shows is Mike Gamble talking about envisioning the next Mass Effect. Doesn't mean that Ryder must be back (I don't see any tweets by Fryda Wolff). Maybe Tom is taking over Vorcha duty from Mark Meer. But it's at least a little suspicious.
I'm not gonna rage quit if Shepard is the protagonist, but if the game really is set in a time where Joker, Garrus, the VS, Tali, etc. are all dead of old age it's going to be kind of a sad existence. I don't really want Shepard without Shepard's crew.

He explicitly said that it might not mean what it was suggested, only that the choice was intentional, as it was a phrase in the teaser resembling/being said during the first time on the Tempest. As I said before, they made the teaser and tweeted about it with the intention of not giving a clear answer of what the NME will be about...with the exception of Liara and the confirmation of Reapers in the last scene.

Since some devs are liking tweets on certain theories, I’d suggest to not look too much into it. Although it’ll be a long way before we’ll have actual informations.
I do hope that they’ll follow a different road from what happened with DA4, and let a full year go by without anything. But the two initial teasers for the games are different, since for ME they actually made something in engine for the teaser,
Compared to the one we got for DAI two years ago.
Anyone else think that they might leave a teaser or something about the next game in the Legendary edition?

So despite my initial reservations and comments on it actually watching the trailer with audio was a great experience. So I am looking forward to it. lol. Again great music that really put one in a Mass Effect mood and terrific visuals and sound effects. So I am quite happy with it and it did do one thing the DA trailer didn't do...even though I do still like the DA overall...this one did get me to actually tear up at the end of it.
Two brief notes on both trailers. 1. I find it interesting that it is just Mass Effect and just Dragon Age. Certainly makes sense in the former case but that is an interesting common link. And 2. interesting that both of them feature stuff from such fan favorite characters...and doing stuff. Definitley playing on the fan card. Though Varric promising he's got your back is fan service + I guess.

It makes me wonder about what the legendary edition will entail. Obviously the most likely scenario is that the game is essentially the same story beat for beat, with the same endings and epilogue slides, but now I can’t help but wonder if maybe they plan to do something with it so that it gels with this game. In truth, I hope so. Partly because it’ll be entertaining to watch everyone cry about it, but also because I’d really like a better sense of continuity to the new game.
