Just woke up and I guess I should have stuck around for more TGA? lol Mass relay being exploded is an odd choice. They exploded in the original cut, then they purposely changed that in the Extended Cut to have them just have their rings spiral outward, but the thing didn't actually explode. This was done, one would assume, as an acknowledgment that "Oh yeah, exploding relays means supernova according to established lore. We prolly shouldn't have that happen" So, is that destroyed relay a result of Destroy or a result of some other action??? The sun with a single planet and a solid metal disk around it is interesting. No idea what it is or means, but its neat. Thought Liara on the ice planet was her finding Shepard's body pre-lazarus, but then I noticed the dead reaper in the background so... yeah. Pretty sure Shepard's body wouldn't have ended up on a planet with two moons in the destroy ending, so... I got nothing. Those two moons at the end are rocky moons similar to the two moons we see above the planet the crew crash lands on. But they are NOT similar to the two moons above the planet that Buzz Aldrin and star grandkid are on. Thank God. I mean, it could just be a case of that just being two moons to say "HEY THIS IS SCI-FI" but it could also be significant, so. Anyone recognize the FIRST planet with two moons that we pass before we see the wreckage of the relay (and, I think, of an alliance ship judging by the fin that floats at the camera?)
Also that particular planet and its moons are green/blue/red. I don't know how to feel about that. lol

Mike Gamble said there's lots to unpack in the teaser and to listen closely to what's said in it. Hopefully someone will dissect the teaser closely. I guess the possibility of uniting the two plots and stories is there. I just can't see how. We'll see. Uniting the two plots from the Andromeda perspective is easy. You return at some point in the future and something has happened in the past. Players just have to accept that they are not Shepard in that case, but that Shep is just a historical figure in the new story. That being said, it's clearly Liara in the trailer, so BioWare might tackle the story from a Milky Way perspective. As long as Shepard doesn't return as playable character, I also don't see a problem from that angle. Basically the same abstraction - that you can't be the new PC and Shep at the same time, so anything could've happened at the end of ME3 - does the trick. The only way you get into trouble IMO is if BioWare brings back Shep, because only then the players' choice in the trilogy should matter for the new story.

Also, had a thought about the radio transmissions. They start from oldest (War of the Worlds) to newest (6th Ark away), which could just be the natural progression to establish/remind us of the setting. But ALSO, it makes sense for us to hear newer radio transmissions as we get closer to their source, cus that's how broadcasts sent out into space work. So, its like we really were approaching from Dark Space, which I just thought was neat.
I'm pretty sure the Quarian Ark was the 5th Ark, not the 6th (Turian, Asari, Salarian and Human were 1-4 and Quarian was 5), so maybe Ark 6 brought the technology to make a galaxy hopping mass relay to Andromeda. This was my initial thought as well. But from the Mass Effect Wiki, the Nexus is considered to be the flagship Ark. So by that calculation, having the Quarian ark as number 6 makes sense. Oooo! A very good point.

I don't like the implication of Andromeda being abandoned. As well BioWare's firm stance of "NO CANON ENDING" to be walked over does not help with trust issues I have with the company. Mister Pimplicious@reich_the "I can't say I'm not excited, but Bioware just abandoned Andromeda. This is not good, some of us connected with Ryder and crew. Bioware just slapped us, and gave us candy." Michael Gamble@GambleMike "I think you should wait and see "

If it's a sequel to ME3, then my choices have been ignored. In my playthrough, Harbinger vaporized t'soni on the beam run.
So will the title be ME4: The search for Shepard? If that's the case the game would only be a couple minutes long since Shepard is under rubble on the Citadel. He/she will likely be found by C-Sec, possibly by Bailey.

It just reminded me that the opening cinematic in the third Star Ocean game used a similar idea, except instead of radio transmissions it was showing the transition from real world space travel technology to the kind used in-game.

Liara and co. return to Alchera post-Reaper War to find more of Shepard's DNA so they can recreate him/her again. It might be far enough into the future (eg. Andromeda's timeline) that Shepard would be dead regardless of the ending.

You know, just because Liara is in the trailer doesn't mean she'll be in the game in all galaxy states. The ME3 trailers used Ashley even though she had a fifty percent chance of being dead.

This could be a story that starts in the Milky Way and takes a hard turn at one point with someone boarding a new ark or something.
Basically we know nothing, but I’m still inclined to think Liara finding N7 wreckage on an icy planet may indicate this takes place in the ME2 prologue gap.

So, it's clearly an older Liara, the wrinkles make that very clear. So it's not them looking for Shepard at all, since Shepard would be dead of old age before Liara ever shows signs of age.

I still think the armor belongs to one of the Ryders or someone else otherwise related to the Andromeda Initiative.

Michael Gamble@GambleMike "I think you should wait and see " I watched the trailer twice, but I played the few 10 last seconds of the video most, because of that Mass Effect *1* arpeggio line... ! Liara leaving to Andromeda? They are linked together now? I'd like that.
