dazk ahglock the Tiller fight on Insanity is actually harder than MP Platinum Progenitor fights, because the guns and powers are differently balanced in SP vs. MP. Still I kinda... blew it to kingdom come when doing insanity NG+ (first NG+ so I think I started around lvl 50-60)  I think I used Asari Sentinel build on Ryder aka Energy drain, Double Throw and Aegis Shield with PAW made for draining shields + disruptor ammo and some other highrate DPS weapon. Yeah what makes the fight harder for me is my builds are almost always pure adept builds when I get there, and I almost never have specialty ammo. If I have a good gun its still doable, when its a 20 levels weaker piranha with vintage heat sinks and a 20 levels weaker sidewinder its a looooong fight as I very slowly kill it with a primer and throw/lance.

Disruptor ammo + lance ftw. I wonder if a MP balance mod would make SP too easy... Does the ammo prime, I don't think I have ever used it.
Edit to add, is it just one clips worth for each ammo or is it like a duration effect.
Ammo Consumables in ME:A do prime, how well depends on the weapons RoF, similar to ME3. (min/max shots to prime are 2/50). The consumable lasts for 3 magazines, or 3.6 times the usual shot count before overheating. (It also refills the current magazine).
As for MP weapon balance ( I haven't actually looked into that before), MP weapons all do more damage than their SP counterparts at each rank. How much more depends on the weapon, as both versions seem to be horribly balanced...
On Topic: Probably the Carnifex. One shooting Krogan (even if just in cutscenes) seems to be almost a necessity. Valiant and Mattock get honorable mentioned though.

I also love the N7 Valiant, High-Velocity Barrel and Concentration Mod.
Cerberus Harrier, Piercing Mod and Stability Dampener.
M-25 Hornet, High-Velocity Barrel and SMG Power Magnifier.
M-358 Talon, Piercing Mod and Magazine Upgrade.
The N7 and Cerberus weapons just really hit the spot for me.
To borrow from what Chief Engineer Adams says:
"Say what you will about Cerberus, but they know how to build a *weapon*"
If anything, I find it beautifully poetic.
Using their own equipment against them.

Lancer with appropriate mods. On a Soldier with Incendiary Burst Ammo Amplified Concussive Shot, it's like a very loud flamethrower with bonus explosions. On anyone else, it's a beautiful, lightweight, all around badass of a weapon.
Second choice would be the Indra. It has a huge shot count (not really a magazine), and easily serves as a do-it-all weapon. I frequently carry it alone when playing Infiltrator in ME3.
The Harrier is just awesome; and I often looked forward to using it a bit when I would get close to starting ME3. I'm thinking that it might be my primary weapon on my MELE Sentinel, if I can manage the weight and low capacity to my liking. Also, who knows when it will show up? I won't have it on Mars to shoot those Cerberus goons through the eye-slits on their shields.

For ME3 - M-90 Indra (all purpose, rapid fire sniper rifle). All I carry besides it is a lightweight SMG or Pistol to keep my power recharge speed at +200 and give me an alternative weapon. For most playthroughs, the Indra is all I ever have to use. I have also done runs using the Valiant exclusively.
ME2 - Viper or Incisor for most of the game... probably will lean more towards the Incisor now with increase in amount of thermal clips
For Andromeda - Black Widow.
ME1LE - Still Spectre Gear (which type used to depend on class) - now probably the AR since I'm not really feeling the changes to Marksman and I never really liked the SR and scope for the indoor fights in ME1.

Well considering it's been a long ass time since I've played ME2 or 3 and I'm currently mid ME1 LE run... *so far* It's the rosenkov lvl X shotgun (because I have the spectre gear bug) with high explosive rounds, rail extension, and heat sink. Everything has been dying quick. And they need to cause I have 2-3 shots before it overheats  The ragdolling is hilarious tho and that's why it gets my vote. Will have to update during ME2 & 3 |

By far and away the sexiest gun in the ME universe. The N7 Valkyrie. By the way though I would probably add a charging handle to the thing and it would be *chefs kiss*.
