All I know is the Matt Rhodes version of what he thought Tali would have looked like... Would not have jelled well with some:  To me its eh. Not bad. Not great. MAYBE... He worked so hard on this and the other designs that "THEY" didn't want in the game for "maybe" being too alien. That they did indeed run out of time and decided just pick a google stock image.  ALSO is it just me or is one of Matt Rhodes designs for Tali actually the design that got used in Andromeda for the female Angara:  ?

If they are going to spend the time to change it they should make her look at least more alien. Well just add some more blue tint and two Antenna to the forehead and you will have yourself an Andorian! Nope not alien enough. Would need for the whole body to be inverted inside out to appeal to the ALIEN crowd... Maybe Hammasa Kohistani pulled some strings to get her likeness into the game who knows.

They don't need to reinvent the entire game to replace a photo in a single scene, but replace it they must. There are so many good options Compare this With something like this Bioware did changed Talis pictures for Legendary.
   there are tons of interesting concepts for quarians, and BW came with the lamest one. Yet, the fact that they changed the picture, shows that themselves were bothered by it. It oozes laziness.

I think that the new face is a positive change overall. It's fine to have disagreements on whether the Quarians look too alien or too human, that's a creative opinion. But the original stock photo that Tali was given just seemed very low effort to me. At least now, Tali has an actually designed face that had some effort and care put into it.

I'd hope they tackle the quarian design more thoughtfully when they come up in a future game, but this is an improvement on what they had before for sure.

The eyes might look otherwordly, An alien looking otherworldly, like they're from another planet or something? No way. I didn't have a good word to describe it  I know some people tend to have issues with the way that BioWare does their characters eyes.
