Still wondering if Bioware is going to change that butt shot for Samantha in the Citadel DLC. Hopefully. They should change it but keep the existing MET around. Then they can keep selling ME Classic to people who want butt shots.

I'm interested in future games, but also worried and with the recent editing of Miranda, i feel agenda politics might rear its ugly head in all of this and being that Andromeda was a bore fest in terms of story and characters, i don't particularly have a strong sense of confidence in that this team can structure a proper story and narrative....
I really am fascinated by the ability for people to rationalize being upset at not being able to fap while playing the game.
Oboy...so we're going to go down this rabbit hole eh?... You sound just as ignorant as the folks who say to go to pornhub for your fixes etc.....this is not about that and nobody is upset about this.... Its concerning in that they want to cut these scenes in a game that is rated "M" and it's main audience is generally male adults. It's concerning because it shows these guys are worried about offending folks..."uh oh we better not show we are sexualizing women".... ..c'mon ..that is some BS.....don't get me wrong..i understand to a small degree, because i have daughters as well and i get it, but i'm also a guy that doesn't mind seeing a sexy chick in a nice pair of jeans with a nice fatty...and you know what?...there is NOTHING wrong with that.... Game was fine and didn't need to be edited....try to rationalize comprehending and understanding the other side without being dismissive with your juvenile response.

We know now that the reason it's taking so long is all the female characters are receiving baggy turtlenecks and parachute pants.

That was the argument we used to see on the old boards, usually from people who thought that ME2 represented a steep decline in quality from ME1. My response to that argument was that ass shots started in ME1, since the Consort gets one.

Moving the camera's focal point so Miranda's ass isn't the main focus during a conversation were she is panicking about her kid sister being found out and kidnapped by her father is just common sense. I've never been able to play the game without rolling my eyes every time it happens.
Miranda still has a super model's body. Which is to say the ideal female body according to men's idea of the ideal female body. She is still wearing cloths that count as a fetish gear. She still has the pointless boob window because I guess women's boobs act as heat sinks and need to be exposed at all times to vent heat.
And I do understand the other side. That is why I have such disgust for the blatant attempts to cloak their need to rub one out under some disguise of nobility or fighting censorship.

While I get the argument that the endings would require more work to fix(though the Hackett ending wouldn't) when they change other stupid things I do have this kind of thought, you had one job.

If you had to change one thing, the endings would be it. And I get it, budget, but RoI. The gaming public would flip their shit over it. It'd be worth it. You'd make the budget.

I liked the endings. I found it a beautiful poetic ending, where the combined knowledge of virtually every intelligent species that ever lived brought an undefeatable enemy to it's knees.
A conventional victory was never an option. It was either a complete and utter defeat, or space magic. And this was some very well done space magic by space jesus.

I still despise everything about that atrocious starbrat and the train wreck endings. I’ll only play the game modded to remove the brat. I wouldn’t want shep back unless it was my shep. Accepted notion of moving forward within Milky Way, mainly as andromeda was so poor. Canonised far future without shep I can just about take as i want to see mass effect done well again. Ideally there’d be enough ambiguity about legend of shep in presentation.

I really liked the endings too. I would be disappointed if Bioware decided the canonize one of the endings over another. It might even negatively affect my interest in future Mass Effect games. My canon Shepard chose control and I know it's not the most popular ending. I also like the tragedy of the "refuse" ending (even though it and synthesis do make it harder to make future games set in the same Galaxy).

Remasters do not alter the entire game they only graphically over haul and provide some small updating of systems when necessary. Trying to bring up the endings as a scapegoat. Literally nothing they are doing is removing or reducing Miranda's character. They are actually improving her by not making her sexuality they key aspect of her character.
Yes making a major female character focus almost exclusively on her looks even when completely tone inappropriate is a product of older days were that kind of thinking was more acceptable. This sort of advancements has been an ongoing social movement for decades on various things. Until the 60's there were actually laws in the USA that made interracial marriage illegal and so it couldn't be shown on film or TV. I love Lucy from the 50's was controversial because it showed a white woman married to a cuban man. To even get CBS to consider their show they had to put on vaudeville act and play it at the Riz Theater to show people wouldn't care. It is why it isn't acceptable for someone to put in some buck teeth and squint and do a racist caricature of an asian person which would show up in looney toon episodes from the 30's and 40's. Social views and what is and isn't acceptable are always shifting one way or another.
Frankly if you create a female character and all you can do is focus on her body then you have already failed at making a 3 dimensional character.
And people threw a shit for for Jaal being bisexual for the same reason people threw a shit fit when gay romance options were included in the original trilogy. People get angry when the parts they want to have sex don't.

Ending bad. It's nonsensical and totally disconnected from the 100+ hours of stuff that came before it. Not even the low grade C plot it most resembles (Quarian-Geth conflict) really has anything to do with it, as none of that arc's 3 outcomes jibe with the details of the deus ex machina's infodump during the ending, and that C plot only lasts for a scant few hours of the series runtime anyway (can be ignored entirely in the 2nd game).
They won't change it any more, especially not as long as Hack Walters is still lead.
Now they've committed to a simple remaster they won't do a remake (though they should have of the 3rd game)
Choose Destroy, wish I could walk away from the pretentious cliché kid before it even starts droning on about the other two goofy options, but Shepard slowly forgot how to cut off pointless conversations with pointless characters over the course of the series, losing it completely somewhere between ME2 and 3

Ending bad. It's nonsensical
The fact you even picked up ME3 after the nonsensical plot that literally renders the entire story meaningless that is ME2 seems to highlight you just want to complain. Because rendering the entire story meaningless at the end of the game is the ultimate nonsensical plot.
Literally the collectors and by extension Harbinger had no reason for the human Reaper diversion that took 3 years times. There is not even a reason hinted why this had to be done. And when you blow up the base Harbinger simply attacks the galaxy anyways which was always their point and goal. The fact that Harbinger messed around delaying the invasion for 3 years to do something that wouldn't actually advance the Reaper's goals is the ultimate nonsensical plot.
At best they create a new Reaper and they are right back to the same problem as Pre ME1 and now the races are reverse engineering Reaper tech and becoming more advanced with tech created by Reapers able to be used to destroy Reapers. The new Reaper would still need to gather allies and spend potentially hundreds of years waiting for the situation to be perfect to launch another attack. All while the races are advancing and upgrading their ships with the new stronger weapons they got from Sovereign's wreckage. The Thanaix cannon's that you put on the SR-2 Frigate was able to easily destroy a Collector Cruiser. You scale this up to Dreadnought level size and even a Reaper would be threatened by it.
Even not taking ME3 into account the improvement of weapons, energy, shielding, the realizing there is a massive threat and so the scaling up of ships of war in production paints the entire delay to create a new Reaper and then the years it would take before it could launch another attack on the Citadel as simply setting the Reapers up to fight a longer and bloodier war that would result in far more of their own kind being destroyed all to make a single new Reaper.

- ME3 was rushed so the endings don't bother me as much as they did years ago. - Any change to the endings won't be made in the LE, although they may show in the next game's prologue. - Since the next ME game will also be rushed, I recommend a simple "Was Shepard a Paragon/Renegade?" at the start and have it affect the story in a minor way. I don't need to play Shepard anymore. - I'm more interested in LE than anything else. - I used to agonize between Destroy and Control but since Hackett says "wE cAN rEBUILD eVERYTHING tHAT wAS dESTROYED" in the Destroy EC, I choose Destroy. We've rebuilt EDI, the Geth, the mass relays, even the reapers.

I don't see its rantings anymore unless someone quotes it. Makes the forum far less cluttered and easier to read. DJT should have hired it to help with the wall since it likes constructing them so much.

To me if they are jumping forward to old Liara, well other than her you could just get garbled second/third/fourth hand accounts of this historical figure which seems to me offer lots of room for ambiguity and contradiction. That could just leave an option to select male or female and however they plan to approach the ending fiasco.

It’d be like murdering someone, then cloning them and saying they are the same person. Physically they may seem the same, but everything that made them them would not be there. You just have a new person.

I've made my stance clear enough over the years, but here it is. ONE MORE TIME! -theme music-
The endings were a mess, but I like the idea behind them. I like one last big choice with moral repercussions for all of the options, and drawbacks and benefits instead of one just being clearly the best. I also like that they correspond to three of the usual tones in science fiction stories -- especially the ones from the 70s and 80s that Mass Effect was always a love letter to.
I love the old Stargazer scene. Yes, it's cheesy, heavy handed, and sappy. Yes, it breaks the third wall so Buzz Aldrin could tell us kiddos about Science Fiction. It's incredibly corny and a bit stupid. But it's also sweet.
There are a lot of ways the endings are a trainwreck. They depend heavily on handwaveium, they're rather abrupt, the pacing is a mess, and it would be nice to get external feedback. Originally, they were also a complete mystery for afterwards. Even with the extended cut, there's a lot of "I wonder what happened" and the dreaded "speculation for everyone!" which is, at best, a painful way to end a trilogy that, up until that point, hadn't had much to do with the subtlety or mindfuckery that ye olde science fiction loves. And Starchild being a kid is, frankly, kinda lame. The Leviathans did it much better by flickering through people you'd interacted with, and it's less of a transparent attempt to sock you in the feels. The way the controls work is also stupid. While I love the visual of Shepard struggling to hold on to the control levers, for instance, the beam would work just as well and not run the risk of her blacking out during the destructive analysis. A lot of it falls apart or requires a lot of assumptions if you think about it -- which, granted, is in line with the rest of Mass Effect (looking at you, Virmire), but maybe isn't the BEST of it.
So in short, I like the ideas, I like it from a metastandpoint when you're talking about science fiction... In reality... Well, it is what it is.
I do feel like they could have been QUITE good with more polish and more foreshadowing than that one casino AI in Mass Effect 1, but here's what we got.

I like destroy and find it the only reasonable ending. I am only interested in Milky Way and aftermath of my choice in ME3. I would like a game with Shepard or without him, as long as it fullfils those two premises I put before.

So the near total genocide of an entire race combined with an aggressive and hostile isolationist stance isn't foreshadowing? Sort of, but it's a grey area because the Geth chased the Quarians off and stopped. Not exactly the unchecked aggression that was inevitable. Though you can argue over the timescale the Catalyst was supposed to be studying, eventually that status quo would have come to an end.
