Bloomberg: Dragon Age 4 Will Now Be A SP (Non-LS) Game

It really depends on how complete it is and how separate from the SP experience the live services elements were planned to be I suppose, so probably impossible for us to know.

Did the devs sacrifice Anthem in a blood ritual so that Dragon Age could be single-player? If so, I may have to change my stance on blood magic, because that shit is THE TOPS.

Onto the subject, I think this at least means more resources will be put towards building the single player component of the game. Whether that speaks to the quality, idk. Feature creep is often a problem with AAA action/adventure games, so I would hope they dont waste the additional manpower/bandwidth on frivolous mechanics or features.

My lingering concern about this change is (1) was it too abrupt & serve to possibly upheave a lot of what BioWares done so far, and (2) how much was the live service aspect baked into the game & its story? Theres also the obvious question of whether it'll be a good game even with this pivot.

Still, this should give desperate fans something of hope I imagine. I still dont see this game coming out till Q4 2023 at the earliest. Hopefully that's enough time to have the game worked out to what they want it to be, but you never know anymore with BioWare.

It depends on how integrated the LS elements were going to be in the overall game/narrative. How much of the game was structured to accommodate them?

I hope you brought multiple bottles or one hella big one, because one regular-sized bottle will not be enough

We know it will have a new not Inquisitor PC, which is Hanako’s point of contention with the whole enterprise.

Well, for example the "This is Your Story" obviously meant everyone would be playing at the same time rather than a strong narrative around a single character. Now it's just a question of if they make the right decision with the protagonist or still be idiots. 
Also explains why exploring half a continent seemed to be a thing, so hopefully they scale it back down to just a couple and really delve into them. 
And so on.

But this is Bioware. I'm expecting the worst.

I appreciate the apology. And it's fine. THat is a big part of it, but it's far beyond that. Like in my post you quoted, I've also not liked how much of Thedas the game seemed to be having since there is no way they'd be able to explore all well. Same with the nubmer of plots and enemies they seemed to be having. 
So yes I'd love to have Inquisitor as PC now. I'd also love if they just focused on Tevinter, Qunandar (these two include Seheron), and maybe Anderfels instead of those plus Antiva plus Nevarra plus wherever else. And I'd love if they focused on only one villain and plot. 

I don't think they're going to either. After all that would be the right decision, and they've shown they aren't capable of that lately. 
But yeah, even the first time watching the trailer from a couple months ago I was like "This feels like a trailer for a MMO game" (I wasn't alone since I remember people thinking that might be why the title was just Dragon Age) but watching it again with this new knowledge and that feels super the case.
