Ah but that guy is the most worthy of clicks in the entire universe. Please tell me you're being sarcastic. Very. Honestly I have a specicial dislike for that guy. I don't know what I was doing but one night I stayed up for hours just listening to his thoughts on ME 2. It was like a train wreck listening to him, basically, just sound like he was wanting to play an entire different game instead and...well to be nice he was very confident in his opinions. I am honestly shocked he is still finding stuff to do.

I may look at the rest later but I did get to the Helper comments and actually that does make me feel a little better about the thing. No joke. My big complaint of Synthesis was that it felt like a violation and that they were aware of it and that was them trying to make it morally comrpomised so it wouldn't be a perfect solution...intentionally...really works.

The part that always bugged me the most about Synthesis, other than what you pointed out, is the idea that the game decides right at the last minute to have this obnoxious god-in-a-box try and dictate to us that any effort to come to an understanding with those drastically alien from ourselves on our own terms is utterly fruitless, and whether we like it or not, we have to alter ourselves to make it happen. “Make friends with some machines? Nope. Not a chance in hell. Never was, never will be.” Well you know what, game? Fuck you too lol

Which is curious considering that BioWare's other property...Dragon Age...is so good on this very topic. But the idea was to sort of solve this ending through peaceful comingling of various ideas...and instead we got distilled into the same exact thing...that is not diversity. And which is why Synthesis is still the one reason I dislike the ending even though the EC makes it a lot better. Get rid of Synethsis and I would genuinely have liked the ending.

I just ignore Synthesis after seeing what it was twice once pre-EC and once post-EC. Its one of the reasons why I don't want BioWare to make a canon ending for as much as people online make the claim that Destroy is the ending everyone picked and it makes the most sense. If BioWare has the metrics it could very well make it Synthesis because there are more people that picked it and just don't post online. To the topic at hand. Thanks for the link, I will take time to read it today for I won't want anything that comes from that channel and I am able to come to my own conclusions.

My big complaint of Synthesis was that it felt like a violation and that they were aware of it and that was them trying to make it morally comrpomised so it wouldn't be a perfect solution...intentionally...really works. ah yes, the green crap. I'm surprised Bioware didn't have thing wearing a shirt that says green is my favorite color the way it buttered it up. The cut made green very comical with the husk and soldier acting like they knew each other. Good thing my Shepard plays stupid. My Shepard isn't sure if adding a few strands of hair, spitting into the beam, taking a dump, peeing, or adding a couple drops of blood is needed since there's no vision. It's interesting how thing is able to go into a bit of detail about green. It's too bad the ones who added the parts not knowing what they were adding to the plans led to the green. I wonder what they're thoughts would be about that? Either way, Bioware had the ending when Hackett was talking with Shepard after the coup. I call it Hackett's ending. It's simple. Since Bioware was pressed for time, removing everything after Shepard passes out would have helped by using that time for other parts of the game.

And anyone inside a building or vehicle. Killing anyone who isn't in some remote forest area because cities are literally full of heavy metals.
Yes the "superior" ending would wipe out everyone not on some back woods agricultural world.

Non of that lore got into the game. Maybe not the part about the Reapers saving us, but there are hints at dark energy fuckery in the works in ME2, like Tali's mission to Haestrom, and (I think?) the ending dialogue for Parasini's sidequest on Illium. So there is lore that made it into the games. Anyone saying otherwise is willfully deluding themselves, haven't played the game at all, or have forgotten about these aspects.

No matter what you do it's either mass murder and genocide or big brother galaxy or everyone is transhuman and you better like it!
It's so absurd and honestly disturbing how casual they were with those choices. Going big was a bit mistake! They should have just made ending simple, while focusing on making smaller choices be deep and impactful.

Why?
Because Walters and Hudson wanted to surprise us instead, I guess. God forbid if someone managed to guess an ending in advance, by looking at clues. Can't have that!
