Hope you don't hate it without the mods. There's already one for Femshep/Jack and Femshep/Miranda, so hopefully Broshep/Kaidan will come soon.
I'll be fine. I played it for a long time without mods. It's just that a certain type of being had to cease to exist due to me playing Destroy. Couldn't be helped. JAM fixed that for me so I do hope it gets remade. As for the f/f mod, who can be surprised? Reality is that mostly straight guys play this and the same is reflected in modders. Not a knock on anyone but I can wish.

Hell yeah! You get three full games plus 40 dlc's. Plus the games are great fun. When I bought the Legendary Edition I did not mind the price. For 60 bucks you get a lot of content.

What the LE mostly does is giving you access to all DLC and polishing up the graphics. Note that they haven't acutally fixed any bugs, not even the most infamous ones. So it basically depends on these questions if you already own the original trilogy: 1. Do you already own the DLCs/story DLCs? 2. Are you willing to mod the original games for making the graphics on par with the Legendary Edition? 3. Do you in general want to use mods at some point?
I got the LE on Steam sale for around 24 bucks and for me it was totally worth since I never played the majority of the DLC content. And without the LE I could never be bothered since all DLCs together would even today still cost 55 bucks. The graphics are quite significantly upgraded though I read on nexusmods that the original trilogy looked equally good or even better with texture mods, so this point is more or less up to you. Regarding continous mod support the LE is likely better since most renowned mods already got converted to it and new mods are more or less only getting developed for the LE.
As a long time fan, I've played the trilogy countless times. As a PC guy, I've also tried it on with mods that enhance the experience. As a gamer, I have many other titles that haven't been played or touched ever since they came out - good games, by the way, like Horizon: Zero Dawn. When Legendary Edition came out, I didn't see much point on buying it, since I was in the middle of my modded ME3 playthrough.
But when it recently dropped on EA Play, first thing in the morning the game was already ready to play on my console and I'm having a blast with it. Taking it patiently, instead of devouring it. Makes the experience more interesting, especially when doing some things differently.
So, truly, it's up to you. If you're holding back because of the price, you could wait a bit more or try the service and play at least the first one - that was what impressed me the most.

I did not consider that the original poster may already own the original trilogy and their dlc. I just assumed they were new to the series like I was when I first bought the LE.

New player here! Never played before and I have no idea what the game is about other than the information given in the Steam store description. I've only played a couple hours so far.
What would you recommend: controller or keyboard? For example, DAO and DAII were designed for keyboards but for a lot of players (myself included) DAI felt clunky on PC, so I play the PC version of DAI using a controller. Will Mass Effect LE be similar? I understand this probably comes down to player preference but I wanted to get some opinions anyway.

I've only played on keyboard and I like it. Same with DA so I'm not sure that's helpful. The only game I've jumped through hoops to use a controller was Jedi: Fallen Order.

For first game, as far as squadmates powers goes, it doesn't matter since you can't hotkey their powers, so you will pausing the game a lot with both, KB+M or gamepad. On the other hand, for Shepard's powers, you can map only one power to RB on controller IIRC, but you can hotkey up to eight to hotbar, so you won't use pause as much. In second and third game with KB+M, you can hotkey up to eight powers to hotbar, you can hotkey squadmates powers as well, but you can map only one power for each squadmate to L/R on D-Pad. So, if you want to use pause less, KB+M is wat to go.

Gotcha. I've only just started, so I'll keep using KB+M for now unless I get really stuck.
I have to say, I wasn't expecting ME to have shooter-style combat. I've never played a shooter game. I've been getting killed a lot! I'm starting to get the hang of it, but it's pretty funny considering my Shepard is supposedly a great war hero

I'm on PC so I used KB+M, but I wanted to say don't worry about being killed a lot, I am terrible at shooters. If things get too tough don't hesitate to lower the difficulty like I during the more chaotic times. Also what class are you playing? My class when I first played was Soldier.

Just don't play Dark Souls. That's an exercise in dying. With this one you'll get the hang of it pretty quickly.

I played these games for the first time this year. I'm also on PC KBD+M and had no issues, except with the Mako in ME1. Not sure how far along you are, but there are certain places where you can engage in battles in the Mako. I was dying over and over and couldn't work out what I was doing wrong. Then someone gave me the headsup that there is a Mako driving style toggle. I can't remember what the options are, but the default is fine if you're just driving. If you're in a fight...not so much. YMMV, so if you haven't changed anything and battles in the Mako are going well, then I'd just leave it. If you're having trouble, though - go into the control options and find that toggle.
And have fun. I'm still a Dragon Age guy, by far, but I really enjoyed MELE.

It just takes some getting used to You'll get there. Go ahead and learn to use cover if you haven't been already. It's more important than ME2 and ME3 than in ME1, but you might as well start getting the hang of it.
Did you say what class you are playing? I might have missed it.
You don't have a grenade launcher, lady. Get lost.

My first playthrough of ME was ME2 on the PS3. I had no idea what I was doing. Even though I completed the game, it was crash and burn. Because of that, I bought ME1 for my computer. I was not the best when using the keyboard and mouse. I set the difficulty to casual. I ended up completing 2 more playthroughs after that. If I did put it at an higher difficulty, I would be in a world of hurt. Several months after ME3 released, I did buy a copy for my computer. Again I set the difficulty to the lowest to use the keyboard and mouse. I only did one playthrough
I'm currently playing DAI on my computer with a controller. It's great. I also have played DAO/DAA/DA2, but with keyboard and mouse with difficulty set at the lowest setting. I prefer using a controller.
Anyways. Continue with your playthrough. Do whatever you want to do. Do not be afraid to ask questions. Someone will have an answer.

It gets better in ME 2 and 3. While none of the ME games are outstanding gameplay wise, with ME 1 Bioware really didn't know where to go with the combat. Being the Halo/Uncharted/Gears of War mix-mash it is. Given how the enemies often dart around at random and even having some "jumper" Geth around can make aiming somewhat annoying. Easiest solution would probably be to go soldier and assault rifles; while underwhelming in the beginning, you get some very strong AR around 1/4 into the game and simple just go for sustained fire with the AR ability. Also a good tactic throughout the Trilogy is to use your squad mates very offensively. They can take quite a beating and will draw enemy fire so you have a little more time aiming without getting shoot at. Note that this works also on the higher difficulties. It actually seems that they have more HP than Shep there.
ME2 or ME3 have, by the time they were released, pretty standard covershooter mechanics. However with very defensive enemies mostly compared to other games like Gears of War. Easiest here would probably be going for an ability heavy class and just sticking to cover since you're 95% save there.
I beat the MET on insanity with no problem whatsoever but I played a lot of shooter games back in the day (not so much today). Still managed to take on all the DA games on insanity as well.

I'm playing on Normal difficulty as an Infiltrator. I've gotten moving quickly from cover-to-cover and shooting from cover down. Getting better at swapping weapons in combat. Still experimenting with different weapons and seeing what they do. Haven't used any special abilities yet, and I've been letting my squadmates do their thing as I'm still mostly focused on trying to stay alive. I think once I'm more comfortable with controlling Shepard in combat I'll start giving orders to my squadmates.
Combat is faster and less strategic than I'm used to, which is probably why I was getting killed a lot at first. No time to think or select special abilities, just point and spamclick until they're dead! Haha. I'm sure I'll get better with practice.
So, a few questions: 1) Are there any missable squadmates? (A first-time player of DAO could miss Leliana if they don't go into the tavern in Lothering, for example, or they could leave Sten in his cage without realizing he was a recruitable companion). So far I have Ashley, Kaidan, Wrex, Tali, and Garrus. It looks like I get one more. 2) Is there a recommended order to which worlds I should explore first, or does it matter? Artemis Tau, Feros, or Noveria? (don't wanna make the mistake of going straight to Orzammar from Lothering or Emprise du Lion immediately after getting Skyhold) 3) How the hell do I travel to another world? When I used the map I was able to navigate to different galaxies/clusters/whatever they're called, but when I clicked on planets my only options were to conduct a survey or do nothing. What am I missing? I'm sure there's a very obvious answer here.

To answer your questions:
1) You only have one more squadmate to recruit.
2) During the main quest the Council will contact you with intelligence on Saren's last whereabouts. They'll say he was last seen on Virmire. Leave this planet for last after Feros and Noveria.
3) Not all planets can be landed on. Some can only be scanned for resources. Usually in each system there is one planet you can land on on each.

For an Infiltrator, pistols are probably the easiest weapon to use. They are strong, fast firing and precise allrounders. Concerning the Infiltrators abilities I'm not the right person to ask. You don't have to give your party specific order for the tactic I mentioned, just sent them to a forward position and they'll draw some fire. A good tip especially against larger enemies is that you can "corner peak"; you don't acutally enter cover but just stand behind it and shoot on parts of the enemy which are just sticking out. This way, you can often take some shoots at least before enemies can even target you.
1) No. Since you've got all other squadmates, I guess you now have the mission for rescuing the last party member. Whether you do this mission now or later in the game is up to you.
2) You can do the missions in whatever order you like. The game itself recommends completing your party first and then Noveria. I'd go for the order you like most. For ME2 and 3 there are occasions where some quests are on a invisible timer/mission counter.
3) As a rule of thumb, there is one explorable world per cluster and the "main planets" for story missions. You get "only" a flavor text for all the other planets out there.

1) As the others already told you, you can´t miss the last missing crewmate. From the other crewmates you always have to recruit Kaidan, Ashley and Tali. Wrex and Garrus are optional. You can recruit both of them or only one of them.
2) You can do it in the order you want but there can be some consequences. That's why ME has such a high replay value
