This obsession with needing to play an "alpha male" is hilariously sad. So glad many others took turns smearing this rubbish so hard into the mud where it belongs. Andromeda is a better game than ME1. That's wasn't spicy. That was hilarious. Good one, buckeroo.

I do like Jack's ME3 arc in a guilty pleasure kinda way for its cheese (and because I love the Grissom Academy level) but I completely agree that it makes very little sense for her to have that kind of development between ME2 and ME3. Ah well, at some point you just have to resign yourself to ME's action movie logic.
EDIT: Ok, now that this post is on a new page and I am not quoting anyone specific, this seems a bit out of context ... but I'm still too lazy to copy/paste a quote.

Pretty ironic too, that it goes on to call everyone it doesn't like racist (toward fictional space aliens I guess?) Why do I have to like the turians, asari, salarians etc... There's nothing interesting about them, and they're always trying to control what or what not the humans can do. I'm a human so I'm going to have more sympathy for the humans in the game.

I also dislike Jack. I'm sorry, but she gets a redemption arc why? She has destroyed a lot of property and likely killed a lot of people. I'm sure she's killed many innocent people as well because she casually talks about executing people. Just because she's part of Shepard's team where she may or may not have really helped much gets her a free pass? She is easily the worst squadmate gameplay wise so I never even use her. Just because she does maybe one good thing in her life doesn't change all the crap she did before. Then her arc in ME3 makes no sense. A girl with that many issues suddenly becomes an upstanding instructor after six months with occasional swearing being her only flaw? The thought of having and trusting a mentally unstable person teaching biotic kids sounds so dangerously dumb to me. Especially since a few pep talks and six months shouldn't be able to heal anyone with her kind of issues. Its even dumber if you have Jack continue to be ruthless and think selfishly. I think all of this is just hand waved with "she was with Shepard so is must be ok." I like jack and her me3 arc. that said i’ve Always felt her me3 arc only really works for a paragoned jack. That's fine. I'm glad you liked her. But even as a paragon it doesn't make much sense. A few pep talks and someone being nice to her changes her world view in such a short amount of time? A lot of her issues would be far too ingrained into her or deep rooted to change in a life time for some people (let alone a few months). Its pretty much the power of friendship and love overcoming all that you see often. Its just unearned feel good nonsense to me. I will say it makes slightly more sense if you are a paragon though. But not by much. But paragon or renegade, it doesn't change the fact that she is a remorseless murderer. Something I don't think she ever really feels guilty about.

I agree with others that it didn't make sense for jack to be an instructor in ME3. Then again, a lot of stuff didn't make sense in the game. What could have worked with jack instead is Shepard receives a comms from Hackett mentioning that for some resaon Cerberus seems to be focused on a location for some reason that requires more of them then required. Shepard investigates to find out Cerberus is after Jack. Shepard can have the option to recruit her as a squamate or send her to Hackett. If the mission is ignored, Shepard kills her on Cronos. The same as if the Grissom mission is ignored .

So you allow people to manipulate language to behave and act a certain way by ignoring the modern relevance and use of said terminology? This strikes me as incredibly naive and open to manipulation by people who knowingly subvert language by applying modern terminology and understanding of words. With you acting as a convenient lapdog to not only defend said subversion but also validate it by being the "outsider" who supports them. John Oliver has a lovely video going over the concept by showing how Tucker Carlson pushes white supremacist talking points by altering the language to make it less direct and confrontational and how other white supremacist groups are taking notes and altering how they approach expressing their ideology to avoid blow back for their racist ideas.
Alpha Male is a general set of behavior that can applies to all genders. It is just more commonly found in men due to traditional gender roles that still exist. The term was coined because of the misunderstanding of the concept of a wolf pack alpha. Which the person who created that term has sense retracted his idea and found his conclusion to be false. However self centered, egotistical and aggressive ass hats took the term and idea and described themselves as "alpha men" because to them they were the dominate male. This also plays into the incel world were they like to push the idea among themselves that women are only attracted to alpha males. Big, strong, aggressive and handsome men who just want to fuck them and leave them. Which only when the women has been used and is all loose and worthless to said alphas do they actually turn towards those "beta" men for marriage and financial security. Now a days it is called by a more accurate term. Toxic Masculinity.
This forum doesn't exist in a vacuum. People will bring their real world politics into the forum all the time in a thousand ways. You might as well be asking for someone to suddenly stop caring about their pet or loved one. Stuffing your ears full of cotton and ignoring the elephant in the room because you don't want to admit it exists doesn't help. In fact it only hinders as you become a convenient pawn to cover for them when the issues are pointed out.
holy shit keep digging lmao Words have meanings and the choice of words used to express those meanings tells more about a person then anything else.

Words have meaning, see the dictionary. Inferences have meaning, see your head canon. ... Only one of these sources is universal. You cannot be omniscient online, I have tried it and failed miserably. I only know I'm right from experience

Don't get called naive everyday at my age and level of saltiness, so thanks for a chuckle! As for the rest of that post, I have one word to say: projection. ... Is this the meme/gif portion of this epic thread? It seems we may have arrived.
You must show me the correlation between age and lacking any naivety because Covid has shown otherwise.
As for the rest deflect all you want. There are plenty of words to be used to describe thoughts and ideas. The specific words chosen speak volumes about the person who wrote them. And there are only a handful of groups who use words like cuck or autistic as insults and Radec has used both.

holy shit keep digging lmao Words have meanings and the choice of words used to express those meanings tells more about a person then anything else. Actions speak louder than words. Words are only words. They are powerful only because they have the capability to inspire action. Without action words are meaningless. Actions are more revealing of one's true character since it is easy to say things or make promises, but it takes effort to do things and follow through.

ah yes, Jack, the undisciplined punk with the potty mouth. Too bad there wasn't an option to remove her from the roster after instigating a confrontation with Lawson. Or better yet, have the option to leave her on the prison ship when she says Shepard sounds like a *****. Too bad she wasn't an option and Samara was mandatory You clicked a Paragon option, how could you?

Andromeda is a better game than ME1. ME1 got dlc. MEA didn't ME1 has the power wheel. MEA doesn't ME1 has the choice to recruit all squadmates or not. MEA doesn't have that choice ME1 can have a squadmate kill another squadmate. MEA doesn't have that. ME1 has a quarian. MEA doesn't have any. MEA has a better story, combat, exploration and characters. Good enough for me to rank it above!

Then of course other games that were by all accounts successes such as Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The argument that “Good = DLC” has been debunked.

MEA has a better story, combat, exploration and characters. Good enough for me to rank it above! Better than the trilogy for me, of course I love ME1 still as it started it all, but 2 and 3 do not get much play from me anymore. Especially 3 because of its broken alpha release of multiplayer... and 2 being derailed to work with terrorists that were done in 1 already... 2 and 3 went to wrong direction completely for me thats why I only play ME1 and continue to MEA then these days.
