The sequence that determines who puts the plaque up is actually quite complicated. It will be the LI if the LI is alive and there of course. If that's not an option (because the LI is dead or not there, the game will go through each squad mate and Cortez and check their friendship value (an internal integer value that gets modified by certain conversations, how many missions you took the squad mate on with you, etc.) If it finds someone who is eligible, that person will set the plaque. Traynor is the last in that sequence. Of course, if she is the LI, she will set the plaque by default but she also functions as the last stopgap if the game doesn't find anyone else who is eligible to place the plaque. If Traynor is last in the sequence, then why was she the one who held it both times for me? Did you know if Liara is killed by Harbinger, she will always be in the second flashback unless she is romanced? Here's a thread mentioning the flashbacks Just because she is last in the sequence doesn't mean she is least likely to be there. In fact, it's the opposite. As I wrote, she is the default in case none of the others fit. With ME3Explorer, you can easily check it out in the files yourself. Here is the main setup sequence: [/spoiler]See how each character has their own sub-sequences there (in the lower half of the window) to determine if it should be them to put up the plaque. Traynor has some special extra stuff to determine if she should take the Ashley/Kaidan Spot if they were not let back aboard or whatever. For further info, you'd have to look at it yourself I'm afraid but it is a fairly complex setup.[/div] As for the flashbacks, not sure about the second one, I just remember coming across one at some point, which had a similar setup, maybe it was the first.

For further info, you'd have to look at it yourself I'm afraid but it is a fairly complex setup. It's not hard at all. Test it yourself. Talking to Traynor more than the other regardless if those characters were taken on missions or not, she will be holding the nameplate. What makes the difference is seeing those squadmates on the Citadel. The flashbacks are what I posted in that thread I linked. Like I said, test it yourself.

You are correct, I thought taking them on missions would increase their friendship status as well but ti doesn't. Anyway, the original question was if it's "LI or Traynor" with the plaque and that, it is not.

So I reloaded my first play through game at that final stage and since I was able to achieve the "perfect destroy" end I replayed and recorded it. It does not show any Geth dying and Hackett says everything can be rebuilt, HOWEVER EDI was in fact on my memorial board. She was my most used next to Garrus so she was in my memory scene. What I did notice is although the star idiot I mean Catalyst talked about the losses of all tech, the Asari and other biotics seemed fine, I would assume they would have had problems with their amps which is tech but it didn't show any of that. I am glad I replayed it and recorded it so I have it.

Well, one thing that is clear is that the red wave affects different kinds of technology differently. The reapers themselves are destroyed throughout the galaxy. The mass Relay (at least the closest one in Sol) falls apart. However, The Normandy as a ship takes damage but can apparently be repaired in the field (literally) without support, so it cannot have been too bad for them. And as you say, biotics seem to be ok, too.
So I assume that the red wave - while affecting all tech to some extent - is particularly harmful to tech that is specific to the reapers and possibly AI specific tech.
My guess is that EDI is dead because AIs require a special kind of hardware, called a quantum bluebox, which cannot easily be replaced or repaired (because of the stochastic nature of quantum computing, even if you download all of EDIs programming into a new bluebox, she would have a different personality, see the AI codex entry). So the fact that she is gone makes some sense to me
With the geth, it's a bit more tricky. They do not seem to rely on your run-of-the-mill quantum bluebox (Legion tells us that they are pure software and apparently can download into different platforms at need whiile retaining their individual uniqueness). They do now rely on Legion's code upgrades which contain reaper advances somehow but what that means for the red wave when it hits them is completely unclear.
I still assume that they are meant to be gone (by the author) because of the slides that are (and are not) around. If you choose the control or synthesis ending, there are Rannoch slides available, showing the geth (in Synthesis, there is even a special slide showing the geth and the quarians together if you made piece). However, in the destroy epilogue, there is either a Rannoch slide, showing the quarians or there is simply none. But that of course is not 100% confirmation.

bayni not sure if anyone has linked this yet: Yes!!! Ok also I think I have a problem… I just purchased MELE on my Xbox one…and didn’t tell the husband, since I already played the game twice on my PS4… But I need a game save on both consoles right.. what if the next game is exclusive to one or the other and what if our choices matter and I need that game save…. You think that would work if he asks! Never mind that I just bought the game twice…

My Shepard isn't against diversity. He simply accepts the Geth and Edi as collateral damage in order to destroy the Reapers. Besides Synthetics will exist again in a post destroy ending so diversity will be intact. AIs will be built again, even the Catalyst says it so. And by this logic, Synthesis is also against diversity. It removes both pure Synthetics and Organics from the galaxy by creating a new type of life. Only cyborgs exist. It's far more against diversity than Destroy. But it wouldn't be the same AIs. You still committed genocide on countless beings, many innocent of any wrongdoing. So that diversity is still gone and can never be replaced. Meanwhile Synthesis still has all the diversity. Krogan are still krogan, asari are still asari, geth are still geth, etc.[/quote But you're erasing the diversity among every species both synthetic and organic. Remember when Javik says that AIs are more alien to humans than Protheans and humans are to each other? You're erasing any difference by creating this new type of DNA my merging synthetics and organics. In a post destroy world, there will be all sorts of organics and they will eventually create new synthetics. There will still be two orders of consciousness in the galaxy: the chaos of organics and the perfection of the machines. This will not happen in post Synthesis world. Of course, Synthesis also seems to repeat the mistake that Salarians did to the Krogan on a galactic scale. "Advancement before culture is ready. Disastrous." A lot of the intelligent civilizations of the galaxy are still in pre industrial technology phase but will be fully integrated with technology far more advanced than they have. The consequences could be far more terrible than a Krogan population explosion.

Still not sure why the occasional person seem to use the argument that DNA decides every single aspect of a person. There is no DNA sequence that makes someone a raging ass hole and a slightly different DNA sequence that makes someone a uber saint. Give them DNA traits that improve an immune system or muscle development yes. Make someone a saint or an ass hole and revert everyone to a single personality not so much.

Ahaha! Don’t worry, the vast majority of people made the right choice and picked Destroy, so these are questions that have cropped up quite a bit over the years. I'm not sure where the stats came from, but this is apparently true. My understanding of the breakdown is: Destroy, Control, Synthesis and Refusal. But, as I said, I don't remember the source of those stats.

And rightly so.

No, you just tinkered with everyone's DNA so they had green circuitry patterns on their skin... They made themselves useful to the reapers and became part flesh, part machine. The strengths of both, the weaknesses of neither. Don't worry. I had myself implanted to strengthen my resolve.

And you will notice that it isn't giving everyone the same hair, skin and eye color because of some head up their own ass logic about some how the color of your skin/hair/eyes makes you superior. Unless....wait do you think those squeaky dog toys are the same as an actual T-bone steak just because it has steak in both names? Because I have either good news or bad news depending on which you have been buying.

Being fully integrated with technology on a biological level is a far difference from simply white skin, blonde hair and blue eyes. Jesse Owen's pretty much crushed that dumb ass idea that white skin, blonde hair and blue eyes inherently makes you superior to others. Simply sticking with the DNA only and ignoring all else is exactly like saying a rubber squeak t bone steak toy and an actual t bone from smokey bones is the same simply because they both have steak in the name.

Not really. Saying one form of sapient life is worth hanging out with and another is only worth composting is, well, "problematic" You're saying one is "better" or "more worthy" than the other. Ubermench, if you will.

No, it made the problem they were created to overcome solved in their eyes. It had nothing to do with organics being unworthy or not people. It "solved" the problem by making organics not really "organics" anymore. They. Are. Still. Organics. Yea they had technology integrated in them, but every species in our cycle has already done that. You are getting really desperate if you are trying to compare it to racism and homophobia now.

It "solved" the problem by making organics not really "organics" anymore. They. Are. Still. Organics. Yea they had technology integrated in them, but every species in our cycle has already done that. You are getting really desperate if you are trying to compare it to racism and homophobia now. They Were. Altered. At. The. Molecular. Level. Without. Consent. Hey, I've read plenty of scifi stories about prejudice for or against augmented individuals. Or against anyone not genetically "acceptable" Heck, I know you've played the Deus Ex games, they were all about prejudice regarding the augmented. Then there:s Magneto from the X-Men comics/movies. The Purifiers from the comics The episode "Infection" from Babylon 5 The Nietzscheans and the Knights of Genetic Purity aka "Genites" Andromeda tv series. And who can forget the film Gattaca? But in any case, Synthesis means they are NOT purely organics any more. They have been altered a the genetic level, WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT to become something else. Something acceptable to the Reapers. That's effing chilling to me. Synthesis just screams "genetic purity" to me.
