On a related note, it's kind of hilarious to see the metrics for BioWare's SWTOR-related tweets versus the tweet where they say Mass Effect and Dragon Age won't be at EA Play. Why, SWTOR must have a fan base measured in the tens  It's still pretty popular and it's making EA a lot of money surprisingly enough.

This game is really becoming Duke Nukem Forever. At least DA4 has a direction Duke Nukem Forever seemed directionless during it's "development" how many radically different trailers did we get about the game? That's direction has changed twice already. It looks exactly like the Duke Nukem Forever situation. How many radically different trailers did you get from DNF?

Now that it's confirmed that there won't be anything at EA Play, part of me is wondering when this year we'll hear more. I've been guessing at a 2023-2024 release date based on previous info, so part of me doubts we'll got a lot this year. Still, I can't see us finishing out the year without anything.

Now that it's confirmed that there won't be anything at EA Play, part of me is wondering when this year we'll hear more. I've been guessing at a 2023-2024 release date based on previous info, so part of me doubts we'll got a lot this year. Still, I can't see us finishing out the year without anything. The blog at the end of last year indicated we'd see more this year. Of course, plans could have changed. It would be weird IMO to have so much dropped in latter half of 2020 and then go a whole year without anything. I think there's a small chance at Gamescom in August (BTS video was there last year) but with it only a month after the EA Play they are skipping, I'm kind of skeptical. BioWare seems to like the Game Awards so I think that is more likely. Also DA Day falls around the Game Awards so that can coincide nicely. Are there are any more big events coming up?

They've got the new Battlefield game, Skate, Sims, Apex Legends, what DICE LA is making and the Dead Space revival. And FIFA. There's also going to be a Frostbite showcase, which might show a glimpse of DA4 again.

Jeff Grubb said the other day he didn't think EA Play was happening this year, so again he seems to be pretty credible (which is good given he says DA4 is hitting milestones and all that).
I suppose DA4 could still show up at E3 or Gamescom or whatever other summer events occur this year. A safer bet would be The Game Awards but I really want to see something before then. Maybe it'll just be blog posts as they mentioned.

I don't think they would have shown anything at EA Play this year if there was going to be one. The way the public, influencers, and press reacted to the changes with Dragon Age: Inquisition is probably going to be something that influences BioWare's approach to informing the public about their games. Just because the people around here want to know more now, it doesn't mean its a good business decision because these type of presentations are about generating hype for the game too far in advance is a complete waste of developer time getting something ready to present. The Game Awards I think would be a good time if they are looking for a release in the first half of 2023, otherwise I think it would be EA Play in 2023 if its in the second half of 2023.
