That would place it 8 years after the Exalted Council.

I was looking through the blog entry and I saw the bit on 'whose favorite character and why?' I think we all know who mine is and I probably missed it somewhere but how do we participate?


Anyways also got a chuckle out of the SP focused line. I bet some will be like "but what does that mean"

At this point this is kind of frustrating at no point did they ever say it was going to have a heavy MP component. Which is why that bit of the leak was believable because it basically confirmed what we already knew.

I get the feeling Emmrich will be our skull companion.

Also yeah that time jump is interesting. They haven't tracked down Solas through all those years? And weren't the Qunari actively and successfully moving against The Tevinter Imperium in 9:45 Dragon? They had taken a whole city by that point. 

How Solas evaded the Inquisition for the last 8 years:

Well this is embrassing.   I guess somehow I missed the second part of your post even though I was thinking the exact same thing which I also forgot to comment on because...reasons I guess.  But this same exact thought occured to me.  Not so much the issues about Solas but eight years of invasion...erm...seven years of invasion is an awfully long time to invade anyone especially in the modern Dragon Age.  I just can't see how the Qunari hadn't conquered most of the North at that point...

Of course this could also be a lack of imagination on my part and Dragon Age has always been...all over the place in terms of pacing or scale and hell maybe that would actually be more accurate to how medeval warfare actually worked back in the day afterall I do know sieges did tend to take place over years as well.  Still if DA goes in more of a traditional direction with this sort of thing and movement as they have been doing throughout the Dragon Age then this brings up a lot of interesting possibilities: 

1.  That the Qunari for some reason would have only stayed isolated in certain parts of Tevinter and have just engaged in a long eight year war.  

2.  Or the Qunari and Imperium reached a cease fire or uneasy peace for a while before the game.  

But either way fighting a nation which has been at war for eight years, or has a knife right in the back, dealing with the Qunari, having their influence on one of their cities for a full decade brings up a very diifferent connotation had we been starting the game in 9:45.  

Well, the first Qunari invasion of Thedas lasted over 150 years. And they were united at the time. Even with surprise on their side, it took them 10 years to conquer most of Tevinter (except Minrathous ofc).

This time around, the Antaam is acting alone and doing so without permission from the rest of the Triumvirate. So there's some internal division going on which will work against them in the long run.

I can imagine after the Qunari's early gains in Ventus, etc. Tevinter and the other neighboring nations got their shit together and are making a proper fight of it.
