Very excited for this series. I'm very curious about the spider/pride eyes character, and I do think maybe the puffy sleeves guy might be a Lord of Fortune. Dis gonna be good.

Has anyone seen Dragon Age: Redemption? Is it good? As Heimdall said, it was very dodgy on the lore and really not that good. It was live action and really Felicia Day's pet project since she was the star. I don't know how much Bioware approved the script but they clearly seem to like her creation, Tallis, since she became the focus of Mark of the Assassin, voiced by Felicia. I'm hoping Absolution is superior to either of those previous film offerings. Given its timing, I'm sure it is intended to raise awareness of the game world and enthusiasm for DAD with a new cohort of players.

I'm not quite sure how to feel about it. I'm not a fan of anime (so i'm a bit biased), but that doesn't look optimal (better than that crap of ME anime movie), and it feels phony... and most of all, ITS NETFLIX!s111sasdfg

My only complaints so far is the that the character designs look fairly generic and the Qunari woman is barely taller than a human She might not be a fullblooded Qunari. You do see her protecting some elves in the teaser - maybe she’s half-elf. That’d explain the smaller build.

I’ll also she has really big pointy ears. Qunari also have pointy ears, but they tend to jut out horizontally while hers run vertically. Almost like she has KNIFE ears

Live action is to expensive. they have also learned that they need more rights in the story. So i think netflix is the best way. With Biowares feeling for story and characters and Netflix knowledge of series plus creative person involved. This will be a hit.

Dragon age absolution is produced by Red Dog Culture House. They are a korean animationstudio. I feel like they mix different styls (Dragon age conceptart + animee + Disney cartoon). I like the elf and the citys, but the rivan dwarf? and the flying bird looks like disney cartoon. I will like it for sure, but i'm not sure if it's the right marketing for the next game. But we will see maybe thats are only a few scenes and the rest is more appropriate for Dragon age Dreadwolf.
Does anyone know Dragon Age: Warden's Fall?

As another poster said, the elf and the dwarf also look too human-like. Artstyle aside, I do hope BioWare have much more of a say when it comes to the lore of the animated series compared to Dawn of the Seeker and Redemption

Does anyone know Dragon Age: Warden's Fall? I've not seen it, had heard of it but couldn't find it. Incidentally, a curious aspect of DA: Redemption was that it featured an artifact called the Mask of Fen'Harel. This was an object in the shape of a wolf's head that, in combination with a blood magic ritual, was meant to be able to open the Veil. Tallis managed to stop the ritual before any damage was done. Considering what we now know about Solas and his orb, did Bioware suggest this to her or did she just have incredible foresight?

The build of female Qunari has varied from the male. This is Rasaan from DG's comic series; when you can compare her with Isabella. To be honest, apart from being taller and having horns, there isn't that much difference. This is the viddasala. To be honest, take away the horns and she is just a tall, muscular human. After all, if the females were as bulky and muscular as the males, why wouldn't they be considered suitable for the Antaam? Both Rasaan and the Viddasala are from the priesthood, so I repeat my previous observation, that possibly there is variation between the individuals occupying different occupations, so the biggest, most muscular males end up in the Antaam but that doesn't mean there might not be smaller less bulky individuals in other professions and the same would be true of the females. The qunari in the trailer is a mage so could have resulted from any blood line, including a shorter, less muscular female engaged in healing or administration. Incidentally, I find the design with that huge book on her arm is ridiculous for such a practical people. Apart from the fact that you would think the priesthood would be encouraged to memorise the Tome of Koslun by heart, would it not be possible to produce a smaller version for transit? Also, why does the Viddasala have this and not Rasaan?

Initial thoughts:
- looks fun, follows the art style we’ve seen from DA4’s concept art - elves, ghoulish elves, ancient-looking magic, and an interesting looking pride demon… peculiar given current events in Thedas. - the main character also looks to be that elven rogue. Which makes me think the main story will revolve around elves, or ancient elven magic - wouldn’t be surprised if this ultimately ends up supporting/give context to DA:D (why not???) - the moon looks SO BIG for what reason?? - I’ll have to wait to get to know her character but I’m skeptical about the female qunari’s design - I wonder if DA:D will aim for the same style of combat that’s shown here. Action-oriented, intense, showy. - I feel like there are a lot of surprises ahead that they (of course) wouldn’t show in the teaser

- the moon looks SO BIG for what reason?? I'm not sure. Have we ever seen the moon from Tevinter? May be it does look bigger from there. Someone also mentioned that Thedas has two moons (it must have been in a codex somewhere), so may be they had formed a conjunction in the sky, making it look like one big moon. This was a theory advanced in our world for the star of Bethlehem; it was really a conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter. So a similar thing could have happened with the moons in Thedas, making one really big bright moon. Alternatively, Mythal is associated with the moon in Dalish lore, so may be there is a significance in that.

Okay, I finally got my breakdown together: So I'm seeing three groupings of characters in this trailer: Mage and Hammer Lady - The mage is attacked by the elf rogue, which makes me think this is an antagonist while the armored lady with the warhammer is seen next to this mage in one of the shots where the spirit seemed to be. This seems to be the same location as the ouroboros ring. The Party - One dwarf with an axe, one lady qunari mage (vashoth, not true Qunari), one human rogue, one human warrior, and one Tevinter looking mage. The Elf Rogue - I'm assuming she's part of the party, but curiously she doesn't appear in any scenes with them in this trailer. I'm guessing they take a little bit to meet up. Looking at this breakdown the area behind and in front of the giant andraste and its city has more water than I first thought.
Given that, I think the below image (0:19) might be a side view of the clifftop city and its andraste. The top of the rock looks different than the rest and theres a tiny pointy bit sticking out at the tipy top which would match the tower that sticks up past her head.

Looking at this breakdown the area behind and in front of the giant andraste and its city has more water than I first thought. It would make sense that the action was centred around one city, so the distant shot behind the Netflix logo is just of a different angle. That being the case, since they have said it takes place in Tevinter, the question is, which city? Whilst Minrathous is set on an island, it is reached via a causeway and this seems more like a rocky outcrop within a series of island or even a river delta. Asariel and Vyrantium are shown on the WoT map as standing at the mouth of a river, with the latter city on the east side of a considerable river system that reminds me of the Nile. That would fit with what we see in that landscape shot, with the inland on the right hand side (south) and the sea delta/islands on the left (north) with us viewing it from the west bank. We also know from Tevinter Nights that Vyrantium seems to have a considerable cabal of Venatori living there. The giant statue of Andraste does bother me though. I didn't know that Tevinter had gone in for that sort of thing and the Merdaine of the Anderfels would hardly seem remarkable if there were many like it elsewhere. However, it is possible that the statue in the Merdaine is even bigger than this and when Brother Berard, the writer of the codex about it, says he abandoned his pilgrimage in search of a smaller statue in a less inhospitable place, perhaps he was thinking of one such as we see here.

Yeah, that bugs me too. It almost had me thinking this could be an Anderfels city since it doesn’t really fit with usual Tevinter aesthetics and, well, I never figured even Andrastian Tevinters would be that into building giant statues of Andraste.
