Kind of curious about all this stuff about BioWare and glassdoor and it being so hard to work for...the last time the work environment was brought to my attention it was generally..very positive. In a survey ( I forget which one) BioWare ranked as the third best developer to work for in the industry. Behind only Valve. Now this was a while ago but I do wonder how...much of an accurate picture any information on Glassdoor is AND if people are painting a worse picture then the data actually suggests.

There is definetely some selection bias at play, as far as who chooses to post on a review site like Glassdoor. I'm sure there's insigt to get from reading the reviews if the same themes keep cropping up, but if you're happy in your job, you're probably more likely to just leave a quick "4/5, my coworkers are great but Canadian winters suck" than going into an epic rant. Epic rants tend to be the domain of the disgruntled.

Indeed, I find I write a lot more when I am disagreeing with someone then when I am agreeing with them. this post chain is kind of a case in point.

One thing I noticed...if the glassdoor stuff has any truth to it (might be true, might not) the common theme is really poor leadership from the top at the studio. Perhaps that is why the studio was re-shuffled and now has a new head in charge of the BioWare division is Samantha Ryan. Curious to see what changes. She's not the studio General Manager though, just the boss that Aaryn Flynn answers to.

True, but if the complaints levied towards to the bosses (like Flynn) are true, having a general manager to keep things afloat might mitigate some of those tensions, especially if they are receptive to feedback. We shall see, I guess. No idea honestly.

I wonder if he left because he was sick of the liberal extremism at Bioware?
