Worn Out Welcome

I'm weary about him coming back but he hasn't worn out his welcome for me, yet, where's that option?

Yeah, this is where I'm at. I love Varric and would be happy for him to play a role in the game, but I don't want him to be a companion for a third time. When it comes to archers who appeared in previous games, I'd rather have Harding in the party.

None of the choices really apply; but I do hate the red lyrium deposits, so...

Anyway - I'd be fine with him as a companion (but better if he's an advisor (or better still, as a quest-giver)). I'd also be fine with him having some kind of narration function as the story progresses, similar to Dandelion in TW3 (who also, of course, appeared in the game).

I know he has 'seen some shit' and the whole thing with Bartrand is likely to have taken a toll on his general demeanour, but DA2 Varric coming back wouldn't be the worst thing to ever happen.

Having said all of that, given the choice - I'd prefer an entirely new cast of active allies. "We'll find people he doesn't know" etc etc.

I don't want him as a companion in DAD, but otherwise I'm cool with him.

I am one of the few which scipped DA2.
I loved him in DAI and now I want to introduce him to someone better than Bianca.
He deserve to be happy.

Meh. At least he's not Liara, Bio's favourite blue creep.

It was the most recent trailer. up until this week, I thought he was just going to be a contact, or a limited advisor if we were doing something in the free marches specifically. The moment they pretty much made it crystal clear he was going to be more, I was very grumpy. I like the Viscount being Varric, I like it a lot. Because regardless of where Hawke is at, he not only survived but was promoted, and, for the most part, is happy. But they just won't leave him the fuck alone.

Varric is like Liara of ME, characters I get force-fed down my throat and have to like because they do appear no matter what.

That fact alone already makes me dislike them. When I heard that Varric appears yet AGAIN in DA Breadwolf was the moment I really started to dislike him.

There is a tie in lead up comic where Varric and Scout Harding are going to be doing something together. That's supposedly going to explain Varric being more involved in Dreadwolf.

I like Varric, but I don't want him as a companion and I don't want him as an advisor in the next game. The whole premise set up by the end of Trespasser is that we need people Solas don't know, so having Varric be around in the Tevinter Imperium doesn't make sense. Him visiting for a short time, like maybe a quest or two, because he has friends there? Yes, makes sense. Nothing out of the ordinary - he's done so before. Him sticking around long enough to count as an advisor? No.

I don't want Dorian as a companion either, but him making a return as an advisor makes sense because he actually lives in the Tevinter Imperium. 

I like Varric, but I hope he's not a companion again. I'm ok with him being an advisor or a narrator though.
