What game came out about 10 years ago, and would have had me sign into EA Answers because I was getting ripped off by the store, losing credits after match completion, etc etc?

This sounds.... really fucked tbh. I don't buy EA games anymore, unless it is from BioWare and is also good. So, I still don't have any reason to "need" EA app, and apparently there is a flag on my account after my posts on AnswersHQ... I honestly think they will not send me this update as a forced thing, ever, because I bitched about it. Loudly.
Am I drunk with power I don't have and never did? Yes.
Doesn't mean I'm wrong. I assume Al that you have games that depend on that app? Otherwise just shit can it and install Origin again.

I might try to downgrade origin again, yeah, but i guess i would prefer to crack the game out of EA shits. Though, except for the joining (friend in game or lobby) which disappeared, it s not significantly worse than origin. And no, i have no other game installed at least no ea games.

They did this to themselves. I got MEA for $5. For $5, it is a good game. I did not get Anthem. Tried SWTOR, gave up well before ever considering spending a penny. I got DAI dlcs on sale, at least half off iirc. I know you were teasing, and I think it was an agreeing tease? BioWare hasn't made any good games lately worth paying anywhere near full price for. The rest of EAs studios don't make anything I care about. |

The rest of EAs studios don't make anything I care about. I am of a similar mindset. I purchased the ME:LE for 5 bucks (or so, hard to remember) in the bargain bin on a Holiday sale. Truth be told, it was still a ripoff - the clowns at BioWare had to put in their 2 cents and fuck the game up. Rather than have a mode where EVERYTHING in ME1 is original with the slightly upgraded graphics, they went through and fucked up the guns, gunplay and reticles for basically all of the weapons. All they had to do was nothing, andthey STILL fucked it up! I actually liked the Mako changes - but that should have been a toggle option as well. Thresher Maws that spit in huge arcs is also kind of dumb, come to think of it. I also hate the way that the upgraded graphics of Sovereign look. I didn't even bother with the Andromeda. It was a pathetic cash grab, just like the ME:LE. All BioWare did was a linear translation into a dreadful storyline. Hey, this is Peebee / aka NotLiara, and Drack / aka NotWrex and these are the bad guys the kett / aka NotCollectards. I'm so glad that an ancient race decided to kill garden worlds off with amazing atmosphere reprocessing technology that can be unlocked with a sudoku puzzle. Wooo, close call there, boys! What a joke of a game. Hopefully EA drags BioWare out back and gives them the bullet like they did all of the other studios that I miss, like Westood Studios. The talent that brought us the original Mass Effect game and made it great in spite of Casey Hudson's interference is long gone.

Latest problem I had with this piece of shit: my library wasn't sorted alphabetically anymore. It didn't have any (obvious) order at all, it seemed totally random. Like not even game titles of one franchise were group together anymore. Two days later I logged in again and they were in alphabetical order again BUT now 1/3 of my library was completely missing. In the past, when EA app was officially still in beta, there were quite a few games missing and you had to use Origin to launch them. Another 2 or 3 days later and everything was back to "normal" with all games being available and in alphabetical order.
Apparently you can't easily activate keys either in the app. A friend of mine recently bought the Dead Space Remake and after trying for some time to activate the key he ended up using his browser to log in his EA account where he could finally use the key. We started playing the remake together at his place but eventually I'll get my own copy when I have built a new PC. And I'm thinking about getting it on Steam. This game seems to be a rare exception: it doesn't require Origin to run via Steam. Which makes me wonder: why can't we get all EA games like this on Steam? I wouldn't mind having to log in to my EA account, I just don't want to use their bullshit clients - neither Origin nor EA App. They both suck in different ways.

Couldn't downgrade origin, it kept updating to the ea app pile of dog crap.
Couldnt get original ME3 past the initial menu screen. (I'm wondering ...Retaliation glitch. I'll try the go offline first trick later).
Tried repairing and uninstalling. Didn't work. Couldn't get the game to even download again.
Kept telling me something went wrong.
Ugh.
So, out of desperation resorted to alt account.
Game downloaded fine, alt account is working properly.
Fucking amateurs.

So, going offline first definitely works.
Staying online and returning to main menu = game instantly exits.
Might bring the alt account out a bit more often. Playing with all lower level gear and limited consumables certainly adds a bit of spice (for want of a better word lol )

Strangely enough my play times have had me PUG with this player a few times, seem normal enough they do talk a lot though and want the team to conform to their tactics. It's hard to tell who is talking, the voice chat is too damn quiet and I've found no settings for it specifically. That definitely reads like a troll, but you just can't be sure.
