I was forced into installing EA new app shit to play ME3 Please report you shitty experience with EA app here
For me it looked like it was going to work better than origin lately, but last couple launch i got crashes when joining a lobby every single times, 6-7 times in a row !  I can solo almost well though, i guess it s the same crap as with origin for a year on my side. Also, it doesn't look like the FL is working perfectly. And it doesn't show if friends are in game any more.
Half my friends nickname are numbers only now until i click them to have a name showing up. Also not sure everybody is shown online when they are JUNE UPDATE Good job EA, it s even worse than what any sane person would have believe it would be! I knew more or less it was going to be a downgrade to that great piece of soft which is origin, but again, congrats EA, always worser than worse

It's at times like these that I wish I could put on my peasant coat and laugh at mustard race problems, but I've been locked out of my Xbox ME account since upgrading to a Series X - both SP and MP. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times, used my discs and EA Pass, and even tried going back to the old console. My account is invalid and that's that. Funnily enough the same thing had already happened on my primary PS3 account. This leaves me with a secondary account on PS3 as the only one working - the one where I'm still 75 URs short of a third maxed manifest. It's a sign, isn't it?!

Sorry for being SP only jumping in here, but - what is the issue with the app?
When I got my new PC a month or so back, I had to install the EA App instead of Origin (or I decided to because I knew it was going to be forced on me sooner or later - can't actually recall now).
Is the issue purely matchmaking and/or other MP related things? Or is it more general? I've had no trouble with it whatsoever. Doesn't update every second day like LOLrigin. Games load faster (although...I guess that could be my new PC). Everything seems to work "as intended".

Well, it s shit for network and MP as origin... But there is no more "Invites friends" or "join game", and that s really a PITA. Mission_Scrubbed is playing a cracked version of ME3 without origin (nor ea app) and as not disconnected for 5+ years ! I guess i ll crack it too and see if i can have an old version of origin working for chating and joining, though i think "joining" will not work with that crack |

I haven't tried ME3MP but I have used EA App in the past while it was in beta and played ~200 hours Anthem before switching back to Origin. Now that I have EA app installed again I have to say I barely notice any differences compared to its beta stages. It did merge "time played" for my games and games that didn't show up in EA app before are now available.
But in my opinion it is ridiculous how much time it took to make this new app and I hardly notice any improvements over Origin. It actually is a downgrade in some regards - like not being able to set your own custom key combination for the overlay like before. Now you are either stuck with the default keybinding or you have to disable it. I really wish they'd just give up on their shitty clients and provide steam keys for all the titles people own.

But the client itself is definitely a downgrade in my opinion, lacking basic functionality Origin already had. Like the aforementioned hotkey or the option to hide games which is also missing in the new app. Oh and the app itself always gets recognized by GeForce Experience as a game, meaning I always get the ingame overlay with FPS counter or a recording icon on top of the EA app which is annoying obviously.

The patch notes for Origin make me want to find the person who approved them, and pull them apart with nailclippers and needlenose pliers. It will take a while, but I will find the evil in them and save us all.

yeah, as expected, or "intended" its a downgrad from origin... i havent been able to join a single pug for a week or two andy disconnect every single match i host (and we use the condor plat public lobby to join) i hope Mission_Scrubbed can share his no-origin crack he uses |

I am just very anti-NVDA for, well, the foreseeable future. They have done this to themselves. As I de-Google, my tinfoil hat grows into a sombrero. I am de-everythinging now, and GFE is part of that. It causes frame drops and crashes in some games now and has to be turned off for them, and anything I have to turn on/off for certain things, just remains off. If it remains off, I don't need it anymore. So, you do you  My new-ish (5600/3070/32gb) PC still needs less crap running in the background, to play demanding titles like CP2077 or Control, at high/ultra settings without significant FPS dips. CP needs the GFE overlay off anyways. Finally, unless I am soloing ME3MP for a challenge, which hasn't happened in a couple years and probably won't again... in-game photo modes and even just Print Screen is almost always good enough for me these days. Many people have different use cases, so I am not giving advice or prescriptions here. |

If I wanted to do more than what I did in the past or maybe livestream I'd probably spend some more time setting OBS up and using it. I also totally understand why someone wouldn't want to use GFE, so no arguing there either. It's not like I'm a big fan of nvidia, it was just very convenient for me to use it for some gameplay recording. That being said I still think it's weird GFE thinks the EA app is a game and puts the overlay on it. I don't have this "problem" with any other app and didn't have it with Origin.

New shit, no notification for messages, nor subwindow openned, so if someone messages you, you wont ever see it if they are offline when you look at the app. Well that is if your FL is longer than 10 friends

Still haven't been forced into this yet... Their deployment has been curious from day 1 of the beta, but this extended soak test is making me curious what the hell they are doing? Expecting them to know what they're doing.... memes, so many memes. I didn't know that andy_3_913 and I were fellow off-host only players. For me, the only time I host is when I solo. When I host, I get upset by the lag induced into my game. Like him, I only host due to migration, and rarely keep the lobby open for a second match. Did keep it open for Ziodyne last night for a couple good runs, where I got the wackiest Banshee sync of my life, complete with broken skipped animation, on my host. biowerpls |

My partner uses Linux and Duck Duck Go (is that what it's called?) but I still can't persuade her to stop using twitter and Facebook when she's at mine. 16 years and counting. Physical violence is (obviously!) not an option, but any tips on restricting the allure of Elon and Mark's data-gathering services would be most appreciated. I'm also an off-host player except for host migrations. I have no idea why, really, as I have pretty fast internet and ping and all that. I'm just a pug, I guess. The randomness of searching UUG is just a part of my life at this stage. |
