Baldur's Gate III - Non Spoiler Edition

And I'm sure they're not the only ones...

I got the dreaded cloud sync error in GeForce Now today but I closed and re-opened and everything was fine. Glad I'm downloading my Steam cloud saves and have Larian cross-save enabled (last 5 saves) just in case though.

Nvidia really needs to figure out how to handle save games better. Waiting until the end of the session and syncing everything is causing a lot of people to lose saves either because they lose internet connection or something goes wrong and it somehow deletes ALL save files in Steam cloud. I keep my sessions only to about an hour because of that. But I will say the actual streaming has been buttery smooth so if they could just figure out a better save system it would be a great service.

Wow, I just wanted to drop by and mention I'm greatly enjoying the game.

Yet the thread had to be made by an imagined scandal since, as only like two devs( one of whom is indie dev) made some tame twitter posts about it.

Noticed an odd install bug. Turns out that Steam thought the DD edition was installed when it actually wasn't. I had to uncheck and recheck the installation to get it to actually download.

Might be a consequence of getting the DLC from early access rather than explicitly buying it.

I think it is only an issue if you are streaming with GeForce Now since it relies entirely on cloud saves. If you are running locally you also have your local saves in case of cloud sync problems so should be fine.

The butthurt from other game companies over BG3 has been really embarrassing. After all other arguments failed, they settled on "it was a success because Dungeons & Dragons funded it" (only to be informed that a game company has to pay for a license, not get paid for it), which then switched to "it was a success because D&D is so popular" as though the D&D film didn't just flop (despite being good) and as though countless other D&D setting games haven't failed even very recently.

I've also noticed that apart from my old BSN friends (and RL BioWare friends), most people playing BG3 don't even know it's D&D…

I must have rerolled my Half-Orc Paladin 10 times so far.  Always a little thing that annoys me (voices, eye color, etc).

And now, I feel like I might want to play her over my little Monk despite being almost done with Act 1 with him. Not that I hate Warryn, but I'm kinda feeling it with only 2 remaining companions. Also, gnome looks way too homey to be a Durge. 

Most people who got the game don't know anything about D&D or even the first two games.

They are old Bioware in spirit, and that's what truly matters

Here is my Half-Orc Oathbreaker...I got a "naked" portrait and I'm not the only one, look stupid might have to multiclass just to fix it. Also, Aura of Hate at level 7 is only good at buffing enemies fiends and undeads. Wouhou!

I'm totally failing at playing evil for the record. I might fix my oathbreaking...

I'm playing on explorer difficulty with this one. Not because I find balanced hard, but because I want combat to go faster so I can finish the game faster because Starfield is releasing soon.

Just noticed something odd. My PC now apparently has a permanent Detect Thoughts on him. I thought it was a tadpole thing, but the dialog prompts are wrong and it works everywhere.

There is quite a bit of overlap. A lot of player in my PnP groups do play videogames too. But I think the people playing videogames are generally more then the ones playing PnP.

There are a also a lot of people, who generally don't play rpgs, who do play BG3.
