Baldur's Gate III - Non Spoiler Edition

1000 bug fixes patch again, the last 3 were almost as big, meanwhile Starfield which is way more bugged has like 10 bug fixes total since release.

One thing the notes didn't say is that the patch also includes FSR 2.2. I don't have one but I suspect this is good news for those with a Steam Deck or other gaming handheld.

Not that I'm hating on Bethesda but why would they thoroughly fix their games when modders do it for them for free.

Mine was half of that on gog... Looks like you are getting a redownload of the entire game.

Is anyone having problems getting the new patch through GOG Galaxy? I have automatic updates turned off but usually the game let's me update by clicking on the button. But this time I have no option to update and the patch notes for the latest patch I have is from August 3rd.

GOG Galaxy is finicky. When Cyberpunk 2.0 patch released, I had to redownload the installer despite being up-to-date and re-install it otherwise it wouldn't pick up the update.

I had an epiphany.

Druids are generally not considered beginner-D&D-player friendly, at least in the tabletop game. You have to be comfortable with both weapon combat and spell combat, as well as learning the unique Wild Shape mechanics. Wild Shape has become much more key to their identity than in earlier editions, where they were primarily just nature casters. If you aren't using Wild Shape in 5E, then you basically need to forget about melee and embrace their caster potential. They have cooler offensive spells than clerics while still having access to decent healing spells. If you want to go melee, you better be Circle of the Moon. They can actually be quite OP tanks at low levels because of the massive amounts of extra HP you get when you Wild Shape (always go bear!). In my experience, though, even Circle of the Moon druids have to rely more on spells at higher levels because their damage can't keep up with the warrior classes.

I haven't found the druid companions yet (I'm still in Act 1), but in the previous BG games Jaheira was a dual-class fighter/druid. Even with her fighter levels, I still kept her at range just because it was easier for her to cast spells that way and there were much better melee fighter companions available. Those who've made it farther into BG3, is she still dual-class? Which circle did Larian choose for her? I'm honestly surprised they added another druid companion if they knew they were bringing Jaheira back; seems like a wasted opportunity for a bard or good-aligned paladin.
