More precisely, goty.gamefa.com/ Thanks! Because I was just trying to do that tracking yesterday and found it somewhat difficult, even with good search terms and the Wikipedia list.

Don't know if this was from earlier tonight, but the voice actor who played Astarion won an award at the Game Awards 2023.

If anyone is tech savvy here I need some help... suddenly BG3 has started crashing my graphics card when I play. It can be after hours of play or just minutes. It disconnects my monitors and crashes any other application running (although I can still hear the game weirdly enough). I've tried removing additional monitors, I've skipped the launcher, I made sure I'm running the game full-screen... I'm starting to reach the end of what I can do. I thought maybe the PC was overclocking, but to me it doesn't seem too hot when I feel it. I even made sure to clean off all dust that could be exacerbating the issue. Only thing I haven't tried is lowering the graphics, once I've tried that I'm out of ideas.
Anyone? This doesn't happen with any other game, no matter how heavy they are (although I do think BG is the heaviest thing I'm currently playing).

It happening during BG3 is just a coincidence. I tried adjusting it a bit, and I've ordered a graphic card support, but I'll probably have to format because my operating system has had to take a lot of hits with constant forced reboots.

I think the general advice is to play a custom character the first time through. This allows you to see all the Origin characters as the writers designed them and experience their voice acting - which for some is tremendous. The Dark Urge is definitely something for a second or third time through.
EDIT: this is different from Divinity Original Sin 2, where the custom character option was definitely sub-par compared to the Origins.

So I was thinking of getting this game but was curious on the pros and cons of playing a custom character or one of the origins in terms of story? Depends. Are you planning on replaying the game a lot? If yes, play custom first. If not, play whatever you fancy. Origins have a few special scenes/interaction you don't get to see with them as companion and Dark Urge has a few choice railroading early on (and a different narration). But you can't change their classes until you get Wither and can't change their appearance. The storyline will feel a bit different with an Origin character since their personal storyline has objectives that interlace with the main storyline and it's much "in your face" then when they are companions. Dark Urge, Gale, Shadowheart and Lae'zel have the biggest main story impacts...that are totally optional if they are companions.

Recommended in order of suggestion to Hanako: -Custom character ('Tav' as called by fans) -Non-Durge (Dark Urge) Origin character -Durge ... I just don't see this being enjoyed much
Custom characters get a lot of choice and variety, just a little less particular characterization. Origin characters get a little less choice and variety, but more particular characterization. Durge is a rather extreme choice that repels as many is it attracts. It is made a valid story for the game, and one that fits into the series, but its understandable that Larian put it off to its own Origin.
You can respec everyone, but a character remains themselves. If you play Shadowheart Origin, its the story of the Trickster Cleric Shadowheart. Its generally suggested to start with at least one playthrough as a custom character, then see if you want some other experiences - unless a particular Origin REALLY speaks to you.

A new firmware update is available on Xbox Series X|S that aims to address the issue with saves being lost on Baldur's Gate 3 after a loss of power. The firmware version should be 2921You can follow these steps to manually update your console: larian.com/support/faqs/disappearing-save-files-xbox_109

EDIT: this is different from Divinity Original Sin 2, where the custom character option was definitely sub-par compared to the Origins.
Just to clarify the last point, in DOS2 your party is culled to the 4 active members you prefer (including yourself). So whatever you do, you only get the voice acting and set personalities of 3 companions max after a certain point. Playing as an origin character means you get to do their story as well as the other 3. There’s no real downside. In BG3, you can keep the companions all the way through, so you don’t miss anything from having a custom unless you really want to play the story from an origin character’s perspective. More importantly, what’s all this “thinking of getting this game”from a prolific poster on the Bioware forum? This is a sequel to BG1 & 2, and is influenced quite heavily by Dragon Age (itself often called the spiritual successor to BG when Origins came out). Not to mention the enormous amount of praise and truck load of awards they’ve racked up. It’s practically a no brainer for a Bioware fan, unless of course money is tight. In which case, sorry for being insensitive. Edit: Ah, I was too late, I see.

But I managed to use all the points I got playing Xbox to make a large gift card which paid for most of it.

Did they do something to Cross Saves? It had disappeared from my Options menu? *sigh* I love PC Gaming. But sometimes it tests my patience. This is an objectively stupid fix for an issue. But it works. Thanks to that redditor (I'm not creating an account on reddit, but felt the fix deserved some recognition).

Baldur's Gate 3 is so damn good.
I have my various issue with it - I would definitely prefer they spend the next *couple to few* years content patching and adding (paid) expansion(s) to address them - but damn, its good.

I have no doubt most here have seen this, but I just came upon this interview with Raphael's actor Andrew Wincott from 3 months ago:
Raphael is one of my favorite characters in the game and it's not because we share the same name.

I finally did it! I finished my first canon run of the game! I have some thoughts, but since this is the non-spoiler section I will keep them to myself for now. I am so very happy with this game, and it has sailed up to be one of my very most liked games of all time. It didn't make me cry like some of the Bioware games did (for good or bad), but it did give me many moments that made me laugh or get a warm fuzzy feeling inside... or be horrified by what I accidentally did lol. And while not reaching the height of some of Bioware's best characters, Larian sure made some that could easily hold their own when compared to the average DA/ME companion. I have never experienced a game of this caliber that gives you so much freedom in how you solve issues, and while as always it gets more streamlined near the end... I'm good with that. I would be happy to see an expansion, but if they want to end it here I understand and think that might very well be the best choice.
Here's to hoping they get to make a BG4! And I sincerely hope that this game will have an impact on rpg-games to come, because to me this made me remember why I fell in love with Bioware games to begin with (ironically).
