Still investigating the cause of the issue.

While waiting for the forum to load, I added 3 items to my calendar, and edited a 4th.

No err bear, though, so...progress?

I can confirm that there is no improvement. A 502 is always followed by slowness, which often results in another 502 and some slowness.

The slowness is just like the Spanish Inquisition.

I've been getting an absolute boat-load of these errors in the last 15 min.

I was blue beared for about thirty minutes straight earlier this morning. It is happening more and more frequently, as well as the perpetual and unrelenting slowness.

I have a had a thought that probably should have occurred to me sooner. I am half-asleep, so hopefully I put this in a way that is both delicate and subtle: extension.

I have an extension running. It is a common one, but it is one that I'm 'not supposed to use' on this site, and for that reason I won't be more specific. I have definitely seen a significant increase in slowness over the last few weeks, but I think I mitigate the issue because of that extension. It's a guess, but if other people don't use a similar 'extension' and have the problem worse than I do, it's possible the extension might help reduce the degree to which the site struggles to load.

I see what you're saying, but I didn't mean that it was "our fault," it's definitely an issue at their end. I think you misunderstood what I was saying because I was half-asleep and being intentionally vague.

ProBoards is filtered to us through many ports and loads many different modules when we interact with it. While the core issue and its responsibility is that of ProBoards, there will be other factors that impact people's experience. Someone in an area with poor local networking (I haven't picked on Australia for a while, so I'll use some areas there as an example) would probably run into the issue more often, and it would be worse.

Someone loading a custom module that adds functions to the website could also exacerbate the issue.

In my case, I am using an extension that actually blocks multiple ports and prevents other "unwanted" elements from loading on the page. At the moment, this is my best guess as to why the issue seems to strike me on fewer occasions and with less severity.

It is just a guess, and it may be wrong, but it I'm not actually suggesting that its up to us to solve the problem, rather I'm trying to find a way to pinpoint what separates my experience so that others can use it (if I find or identify it) as a workaround temporarily.

It might have helped if I was specific instead of being intentionally vague the way I have, but there is a reason why I can't really come right out and say what I thought it was (I could double-check some ProBoards resources to make sure whether or not I'm allowed to mention what it is, but I just woke up proper so I haven't yet.)
