The Slowness

No suggestions or workarounds here, sorry.  But it has been a major hassle for me, as well.

Enough people have commented over the last few weeks - and it happened again as I tried to like this post, so I've flagged it with Proboards Support and we'll see what comes back.

Hey regack - the proboards support people have asked if we have any javascripts running on the forum?

I could not possibly begin to even tell you.

I know how to rearrange board orders. 

I have the same problem. I was talking about it with sjpelke yesterday and she has the problem too. In fact, quoting you resulted in a time-out.

They're saying the forum appears to be firing well enough server side. So the err bears are likely to be a setting issue...somewhere.

Has anyone noticed a more regular time of day for the timeouts etc to happen? For me, it happens throughout the day.

I know I am not on a ton these days, but so far I have not encountered this slowness either on my Safari browser when on mobile nor on Google Chrome when on my laptop.

Again - really appreciate your help on this!

I have it both on Windows 10 (32 GB, Firefox, Edge & Opera) and Android 11 (latest security update, Opera).

I wanted to like your post on Android, but it wouldn't let me. I closed Opera, reloaded it and BSN refused to load. I closed Opera and on Windows 10 opened Firefox and BSN and it took ages before BSN loaded.

If I make a post then I save it in a text editor before submitting, because sometimes it times out (any BSN forum function can do that, though). Let's try it this time.

Edit: This time it worked.

I've been having on and off problems as well. One time it works fine, the other I can't do anything. Hell, even when I wanted to come here and post about it I got error 502. There's no real pattern to it and it can't be my internet, because everything else works perfectly fine (and my internet is pretty fast).

I use Google Chrome on Win 10 and used to use Samsung internet browser when checking on my phone, but since those problems started, I gave up on checking on phone.

In my defense, it was accidental.

I don't have the issue with "Post" or "Quote" that people are describing, but ever since I posted in here that I don't have the slowdown issue... the website has been periodically loading really slow for me. That has always been the case, but now that I think about it, it does seem to be happening more frequently, and the last couple of days in particular. But that might just be because this thread made me notice it.

Just in case it is influenced by geography or networks, I'm in Eastern Ontario, which is actually considered a very high quality area for networks (the lingering benefits of being the home to the Dot-Com crash.)

There is another ProBoards Forum that I have access to with a much smaller profile of plugins. I will dink around on there today a few times and see if I notice anything that would point to ProBoards being generally slow or this forum, specifically.

...and as soon as I posted that, the whole site locked up and I was stuck on a page saying (Redirecting). I didn't get a chance to capture the output of that page when it suddenly loaded up the site. On two different browsers. At the exact same moment. So there's something happening. I haven't made any changes/updates to anything in the layouts or page templates or code or anything for months and months, so I it doesn't seem likely that it's on the front-end side.
