I have a thing where I make characters based on musicians and base their personalities on a theme around a song. With all the chatter about body sliders in VG, it made me think about awesome women with slender body types. So, I think I want to make a Rook that looks like Joan Jett in the music video for "I Hate Myself for Loving You." The body type, facial features, and make-up should all be doable in the CC. Sadly, I don't think Thedas has an equivalent of her 2-bottles of Aquanet 80's rocker hair. I will have to get creative on that front. This Rook will be brash, assertive and have a thing for bad boys. And if possible, maybe some self-destructive tendencies. I love her already.

Switching up my alts or considering it.
Think Spellblade won't fit Andromeda, wanted to make her a magey mage and that does not exactly fit, and given her background personality Death Caller is still out so Evoker it is.
But since I still really want to make a Spellblade then that will leave things for Gianna. Still feels a bit on the nose but it'll likely have to do.
And right now for my four that leaves 1 rogue, 2 mages, 1 warrior.

I still have no idea if I want to play rogue or mage. I love the fade stepping around. But the staff is a bit slow, and I'll get bored of stacking debuff with orb and shanking. Really cool aoe spells though. Rogue, I love bows, headshot make my day, throwing bombs is wonderful but I aren't gonna parry when there's horde of mobs and I can't see anything. I'm still unsure if you can combo with companions of the same classes. And there's already 3 mages. From what I've gathered mage is a bit rough at the start but gets better, while rogue is pretty fun right away. Guess I'm going to toss a coin or something.

Think they mentioned you can combo with the same class, utilizing the rune system or what not. Not 100% sure though, gonna have to wait till we get the game.

I'll be going for a Dalish Elf, taken by the Antivan Crows at an early age. My Inquisitor was a Cadash, female Hawke and a City Elf HoF. Using BGIII for a quick template, this is roughly what I have in mind, just missing Sylaise vallaslin (single side).

Please don’t stop, I love reading these. After trying to alternate races/classes/personalities and avoid repeating in my canon, I have decided to almost completely throw out the idea and give my avatar status message better support. The Dwarf AgeOrigins: diplomatic and kind, longbow-wielding Berserker/Champion, Aeducan princess romancing Leliana Veilguard: flippant and charming, two-handed axe Champion (repeated, but shares no resemblance to the Origins version) using the Titan Stomp, Grappling Spear, and Deadly Ground skills, with the Warden's Fire ultimate, dwarven Ingellvar (Mourn Watch) romancing Harding then Davrin Untitled potential fifth Dragon Age game: aggressive and direct, (hopefully) dual-wielding maces Templar (maybe, or Guardian or Slayer or something), straight female dwarf As mentioned before, I will run my alternate world state to test ...a female elf from the Shadow Dragons, that is confrontatational and ruthless, specializing as a Saboteur rogue using the Pilfer, Explosive Trap, and Fortune's Turret skills, with the Concussive Barrage ultimate. She will be slightly older (grey hair, and some scars), and will romance the younger Taash.

For what it's worth, I recently found this cool piece of art which sort of fits my imagination of how Bethany would look as a more mature, self assured woman: Alternatively, a bit of this: Plus maybe bit of crow's feet and strands of grey hair if possible.
This started as a really silly idea and now I'm kinda excited to try it. Just hoping I'm not ruining the game for myself by forcing this to work. On the other hand, as I said before, I really don't feel like coming up with yet another whole new figure that's the next GOAT (greatest of all Theads) in apocalypse-stopping.

First rook is Elven Mage Shadow Dragon Second Rook - Dwarven Rogue Lord of Fortune But third being a warrior, probably Qunari and Mournwatch!

Still working things out. But I have been thinking of my Rook being a relative of my Solavellan Inquisitor. Elara Lavellan Aldwir. Female elf. She is 10 years younger then her cousin and could be considered her twin except for her longer straight jet black hair. I expect Solas heart may skip a beat when they first meet, but of course he won't show it. She may look like her cousin but she is not her. Should be interesting. Update #1 In Trespasser, my Lavellan vowed to save Solas but also told him plainly that she would have to stop him from destroying the world. He said that he knew she would try. So Varric and Harding were her trying. My Lavellan also had a fallback. Her cousin, using a alias name Rook, was not even known to Varric as a relation to the Inquisitor. Of course, things did not go as planned....

Okay folks, I need some help to make up my mind. It may yet turn out that I'll make a completely new Rook with a separate story, but for my first PT, featuring my main Inky (mage Lavellan), I've been considering two paths:
Since Inquisition, the background for my main Inky was that, on her dad's side, she's a descendent of elven mages that escaped slavery in Tevinter: an old, affluent noble house kept and use talents of a dozen or so elves to have an edge over other houses in magic department (since their own has been waning for some time now). The elves finally had enough and escaped with the help of the two youngest children of the Tevene house. The children got disowned and disappeared from records, while the escapees eventually reached clan Lavellan roaming the Free Marches. After some hijinks that involved dealing with Vints on their tails and some wariness from the Dalish, part of the small groups of Tevene elves got absorbed into Dalish clans (both Lavellan and some other clans that needed mages), but a small group of Tevene escapees has decided that Dalish living isn't for them and set out for Rivain.
So, now I have two potential backgrounds that somewhat tie them to the story of Lavellan's family, but I can;t make up my mind about which to stick to:
1. A Shadow Dragon human; the descendant of one of the kids that helped the elves escape and eventually returned to Minrathous after things settled - but only as a commoner; they cut all ties with the Tevene house they came from. Yet, despite magic in that old noble house has waned, and their parent was a non-mage, the talent seems to have skipped a generation,
2. A Lord of Fortune elf who descends from the very same group of elves that escaped Tevinter, and thus Lavellan's distant relative (potentially a warrior - the prospect of a small, lanky elf wacking everything on their path with a giant weapon is too tempting)
Ehhh, decisions, decisions...

Veilguard: flippant and charming, two-handed axe Champion (repeated, but shares no resemblance to the Origins version) using the Titan Stomp, Grappling Spear, and Deadly Ground skills, with the Warden's Fire ultimate, dwarven Ingellvar (Mourn Watch) romancing Harding then Davrin Untitled potential fifth Dragon Age game: aggressive and direct, (hopefully) dual-wielding maces Templar (maybe, or Guardian or Slayer or something), straight female dwarf I am going to swap the order (I had forgotten that I wanted some more female melee power first), so Rook will be the aggressive and direct lady dwarf. She will come from the Shadow Dragon background, and focus exclusively on the Davrin romance. I wanted her with blunt weaponry, so she will use a maul instead. To avoid two female dwarf Champions, I will have Rook become a Reaper (avoiding the shield skills) using the Titan Stomp, Spectral Bulwark, and Bloody Advance skills, with the Spirit Storm ultimate. ...a female elf from the Shadow Dragons, that is confrontatational and ruthless, specializing as a Saboteur rogue using the Pilfer, Explosive Trap, and Fortune's Turret skills, with the Concussive Barrage ultimate. She will be slightly older (grey hair, and some scars), and will romance the younger Taash. My alternate run already has a couple of male rogues, so I will have a Qunari mage from the Mourn Watch. He will be diplomatic and kind (using the British voice), but make harsh decisions, while romancing Harding. My Ingellvar Rook will cast the Ice Blast, Corrupted Ground, and Dark Squall spells, along with the Vortex of Shadow ultimate.

I also like the more direct familial connection, but with a very distinctly different background.

Yeah I'v eswapped m yorde ro fpla yaroun a bi tmy first 2 characters are stil lmages but mages wi thdifferen tspecialzations nowasm y second one no will b etaking Deat hcalle rgiven she' goin t obe an Antiva nCrow so she's goin gt ob ea kille rbut mo resomeon ewho uses necromanc yto scare peopl et odeath rathe rthan stabs them wi ha spell blade. 2. A Lord of Fortune elf who descends from the very same group of elves that escaped Tevinter, and thus Lavellan's distant relative (potentially a warrior - the prospect of a small, lanky elf wacking everything on their path with a giant weapon is too tempting) This with the Slayer and two-handed weapon abilities, perfect Lord of Fortune.

I feel like LOF might turn out to be the least relevant background storywise. So I'd pick LOF for a "hell how do I got into this mess?" kinda Rook. And if you're into the style, as in bling. There's way to have golden weapons, and LOF armor that looks quite cool.(everyon can wear those armor ofc but you know RP ) Shadow Dragons if you want more pathos in your faction, and perhaps more involved in the plot.
Granted an elf might have more special dialogue options than a human. So that might balance the whole thing.
