Well they did say that companions will form relationships with each other if you don't. What does the light have to do with forming relationships? Wouldn't that depend on what dialogue the player chooses? What happens if I ignore the light? Will it send a signal to the door to lock itself? Why would I be disappointed? The companion could inform rook he/she is going to take care of whatever. Or when rook enters the room without seeing whoever, he/she figures the companion went some where for whatever reason. I thought the light above the door was meant to signify whether or not the companion has new dialogue to deliver. I think the specifity i need is whether this is more specific to their companion questline, or the ambient dialogue they give after completing major critical & sidequests.

If that's the case than those people must have had a extremely hard time seeing the damage numbers seen in DAI that were much smaller.I've seen people complain about it. I don't recall any complaints about that, but I do recall complaints about the subtitles being small.

Can't really speak too much on it as it will definitely raise further questions but it just adds text descriptions beside the numbers to explain what the different colors mean. (If you go back through the video you'll see they're sometimes in different colors and sizes for example).

Yeah given modern video games the UI customization is pretty lit.
Probably going to leave a lot of it on just go small.
First hour set up the UI and accessibility. Next four hours, CC.

I designed all the skills and so they're each enjoyable to me to some extent. I have been playing through the game over and over the last couple months for balance purposes so I've played them all fairly extensively. That said, for my normal playstyle I'd probably pick an affliction focused Reaper using 2H weapons mostly. Right now I'm playing on the highest difficulty as a Saboteur though.

I've been planning to play as a sword-and-shield Reaper, but I'm a fan of Nightmare and feel like the spec might be better suited for a 2H. Do you think a sword-and-shield Reaper could hold up in higher difficulties or should I plan a more optimized build?

Gotta say this - Mr. Barrett, I love the giant hammer I usually play mages or rogues, but I have a feeling I'll spend a lot of time just whacking darkspawn with an oversized weapon left and right

I just wanna freeze n' shatter b*tches left and right with my Evoker. Fade Step'ing around the battlefield... using my magic bubble-shield to block incoming attacks, maybe also some telekinetics/Force spells... yeah. I'm a girl of simple tastes. Color me basic.

Nah, I'm thinking strangely enough evoker might be the best mage spe now. Necro seems to have very little crowd control + the health regen with ennemy hitting so hard is meh, the tiny dagger and orb is an offence to the Maker. But Evoker imagine wall of fire , freezing and shattering , a shielf that froze ennemies when destroyed would be glorious+ high mobility. Now we're talking. I'm either playing this or archer BUT i'm concerned about archer. Arrows are limited and replenish over time, I'm sure you can take skill points to get better at that...but starting I'd be probably stuck doing main damage with daggers.

As I mentioned on Schmooples thread, I am becoming more and more niggled by the purple colour scheme. I've started detecting it even in game play sections, although it is more subtle there. On the character screens though it is jarring how bright it is and does detract from the mood I feel. Compare it with Inquisition and you'll see what I mean. It is not just the background, everything is saturated with purple.

Isn't it odd how the companion selection in the second screenshot above refers to every companion by first name except Harding?

Sorry, I removed that one in case people thought it was a spoiler but, yes, it is strange she is only referred to by her last name whilst everyone else it is the first name. I suppose it is just that people may not remember her as Lace or something. Do we keep referring to her as Harding instead of her first name though?

Can't really tell too much of a difference between the Inquisition and Veilguard. Yes obviously purple but its a really dark purple and almost black...similar to the Inquisition one really. And I hate the color purple. Though watching that reaction vid that Ice-Quinn posted in Schmooples I did note something that I am not sure I like too much. There was a tutorial prompt which said, in summary, 'use the Lyrium dagger to summon your party as if they aren't there.' So you can use their exploration abilities of said party members even if they aren't there by summoning them. Yes I am stinking at the word choice here and the memory. But that is pretty much the gist which is kind of...a problematic solution. Though I suppose its also like Transmoging gear fits as well it could end up being a nice way of going about it but the idea of having a party is you aren't neccessarily going to be able to bring everyone with you to solve. Yes, Rook should have the option to be able to spec into these skills...as they have implied is possible...but it would just otherwise be pretty weird. "Hey Taash do your thing." "Ok!" "Bye Taash". So we'll have to see.

I've also been picking up on the character "professions" if anyone is interested: Harding: Advocate (I think) Lucanis: Contract Killer Neve: Minrathous Contacts Davrin: Monster Hunter Bellara: Eluvian Expert (presumably why we saw he jumping through one in the first trailer) Emmrich: ? I saw a screen shot somewhere - something to do with spirits I think Taash: ? Dragon slayer I would expect but perhaps something to do with treasure.

I get the feeling those change with the levels going up, makes me wonder how many variances we'll get. Lucanis, Legendary assassin.
