Wouhou Luke's team stuff!
Looks like Necrotic damage is the new nature/poison from previous games.
And the Caretaker will be my new best friend!
And that duelist rogue looked amazing. Stop making me doubt my starting class choice!!!

I really hope there's an auto level option for companions like there was in Inquisition. I am terrible at trying to do all this stuff.

I noticed they finally showed the Antaam in action in some of these sequences.
That aside, on to the actual subject, and it's... quite decent overall. I always approve of anything like the trait nodes in gameplay like this; it's what I've been thinking of in terms of possibly adapting certain DA abilities to the action mold. Not saying that'll be the case here, but consider me optimistic.
The Caretaker being able to enchant not only weapons and armor, but active abilities is a surprise. That said, it's still a way to bring in the ability upgrades into Veilguard.
Itemization in general seems pretty close to how I imagined it'd work, but being able to find items of the same rank as the shops is pretty good. Saves a lot of effort and resources that could go elsewhere. The duplicate system has potential as well.

It's a minor detail, but I loved the animation of Rook kicking open the enormous chest. Felt satisfying, especially compared to small chests where they seemingly fling open from the power of being a gamer.
This was good. And I'm glad they read off a script and just focused solely on the gameplay, lol.

Yeah.. they did say that. However, the KB&M hardware will have specific keys assigned.... I'm sure.
But, notably, no PC is used.

Definitely liked how they showed gameplay in this recent skill progression video. Now if they did short vids like this showing each specialization and their play style that would be great. I still haven't seen enough of their new weapon dagger and orb yet to have feelings on it yet

The Caretaker is an idea ripped off from BG3's skeleton character and Hades' Charon. The good thing is Bio dropped the awful 3 forges crafting method. in DAI.
Interesting is item progression/upgrades... Necro damage is shown. S**t, we already know that Dark Spawn are immune. You'd think Bio would show Fire/Lightning/Cold upgrades. Good news, imo, upgrade mechanics appears simpler to use.
Mage and ranger is missing.

I like the fact that the weapons you find will at least match your current weapon's level, so no more finding useless low grade weapons that just take up space until you can sell them. Also, if you find the same weapon as you possess it seems you can use the duplicate to enhance its level. I think I understood that right.
I agree that the dual wielding rogue is looking good, particularly as you can now use longsword and rapier not just stupid daggers and you can still use a bow for ranged attacks, so back to the sort of abilities a rogue had in DAO. I am seriously considering starting with a rogue now I've seen that but if I stick with my mage first run, duelist is definitely going to be my second run.

What's good about this system is that the Caretaker rank and your weapon rank ensures that gear found out in the field doesn't drastically fall below level. I am curious how much of your ability to rank up the Caretaker is dependent exploration though. I do so all the time, but I also know there are a number of people who just breeze through the main game doing minimal sidequests.
Overall, looks like there's a good amount of depth here and the system looks easy enough to understand.
Maybe a bit too much to ask, but it would be cool if BioWare released an interactive map of the individual class skill trees so we could plan out what builds we want to make.

ok but what is a a button combo on controller? i read X Y and RB. do they have to press all 3 at the same time? this would be problematic with M&K

What i wanted to know about this NOT DEEP dive was something more specific. Less info but new. We already knew about difference between abilities, traits etc but info like: are all these type of abilities level capped or i can rush towards the one i want each time i level up? how many points do i get at level 1? do i have to use them to get the 3 in the middle or i can start running outside the starting area? to switch abilities do i always have to go in the settings? etc etc

Finally, finally, they showed me something cool. Based on what they revealed with the warrior and yesterday's mage abomination definitely going to be playing as a rogue. Still think the enemies are gonna be endless trash mobs but at least I can feel epic slaughtering them.

I don't think they would cap your capacity to get the abilities you want. They've said that it would be mid-game before you unlocked your specialization, but that's likely due to needing the necessary skill points to reach said specialization.

I mostly liked what was shown. I think build variety will be great in this game. I'm glad that both the skill tree and gear passives is not just about makiing your character do more damage or giving them more health, but also about changing how you play. Also, it wasn't entirely clear, but it seems regualr combos will also be a thing in DAVe? What i mean is stuff like light attack, jump attack, light attack. It said in the trait description that you nead to press X, Y OR RT, so it's not exactly a combo, but maybe we can unlock new ones? At least, i hope so. Also, i noticed that Bioware either played on PC but with an XBox controller or they played on XBox. If that's the latter then it explaines why the game's graphical quality in this videos is not... the best. On other hand, maybe they played on PC, because why the hell they would play on XBox lol.
