Virtually every new scene in this video looks good, particularly Rook/Companions interactions - I like the slightly 'digital painting-ish' style that is otherwise crisp when it needs to be, and see no issues with animations. Granted, the looks and quality will likely be dependent on settings we run on the machine we play, but otherwise... no major issues so far, as far as I'm concerned. Also - that two-hander attack where Rook basically whacks enemies with an oversized energy weapon? How's that not cool? I actually may have to try a warrior with a giant maul build. The art style reminds me of Dishonored, a game I like, so that's good. Obviously it's curated which helps, but yeah, everything looked nice on a technical level, or at the very least competent.

IDK, everything John said could apply to the first forty minutes of the game ... It does seem like he's around in SOME capacity after that, though, based on the mage combat video earlier this week. Maker I will laugh so hard if he and Solas are stuck in the Fade together. I'd say that this sounds more like a major character arc thing for Varric, rather than something that's going to be contained within (a crucial, but still) first hour of the game.
...But all that is said about Varric... it really makes me wonder what kind of role they have carved out for the Inquisitor? Yea htha tMurde rof Crows ability looks prett ycool as well. This game definitel ylook sand feels as flashy as ever with powers jus tas DAI did. Right now it's just making me want to play it more. M yfirs trogues wil b eeithre Veil Range ro rSaboteur not sure quie twhic hye tprobably VR fo rth efirs tone but I'm kin do ftempted t opla ya Shadow Dragon Saboteur who romances Neve.

A few scattered thoughts: - That Qunari Rook looks way better than the one they were using the other day. Hair in this game continues to look incredible. - Actually, everything looks pretty incredible. I will always argue DA2 and DAI are nice good-looking games in most respects, but ten years of tech advancement has made Veilguard downright beautiful. - Speaking of beautiful things, Taash is gorgeous, glad we got to see more angles of her (them?) this time . - Playing Mage first, but I can't wait to give my dwarf Warrior a giant maul. Grey Warden smash!!! - Happy to see more Emmrich, too, and I'm charmed to hear that he's basically raising Manfred as his son.

Ok combat looks good. That fast move at the end of the video looked cool. Taash looks better here than before, and the hair tech is impressive. One of the best I've seen.

Was hoping to see more of our hazel-eyed, jaw-of-justice Rook. He's gotten zero love outside of the Release Day trailer! The CC looks to be very promising, and I'd be very happy to start creating my Rook with his preset. Also, the cinematics look stunningly beautiful. I love how our relationships with each companion alters so many variables, including combat and banter. Feels much more alive and immersive.

The Qunari Rook hair is gorgeous and it has hair physics too, I'm in love I wonder whether Taash story will have something to do with gender identity? Patrick Weekes refers to her as "she" and Corinne keep calling Taash "they". We also haven't heard her voice and she's being kept under wraps compared to other companions.

And Taash remains the only Kossith that doesn’t look like megamind. They had a great look in dragon age 2. I don’t know why they want them to look like human cos players so badly. Gameplay looks sharper. Hoping the companions have some bite to them. Please no more singing. Give me a Sten, Isabela, or a Zevran type.

Yeah, qunari Rook with long hair looks much better than the one IGN showed a couple of days ago but still reminds me of megamind. Although the qunari design was never consistent throughout all 3 games, they look very human-like this time around, more akin to D&D Tieflings with more prominent foreheads.

In yesterday progression video, there is an enemy called Disciple-in-ichor...he's wearing Warden armor and looks very blight-deformed. The disciple in Awakening were sentient darkspawn I believe. But wouldn't be surprising if the Evanuris can mindcontrol wardens + speed the ghoul process. Hate to be smug about this but I called it! (Actually not sorry for being smug at all ) Why wouldn't someone on the other team be able to control Wardens through the Blight? Probably Ghil but may be just one of her minions with a doodad (like Erimond was able to control the Wardens through delegated power from Cory). Seems pretty obvious to me.
So the clever part (or dumb depending on the explanation they come up with) is why a Grey Warden Rook and Davrin aren't similarly compromised. The simplest explanation would be that they were recent recruits and not put through the Joining (as hinted at in Last Flight), so not infected. The more complicated one will be connected with the relationship we have with Solas. He is a powerful Dreamer and nothing better to do with his time than ensure our minds are protected from outside influence. If that is the case, well I may cut him some slack going forward.

Also my dear sweet Solas. Solas: I'm going to destroy your World Inky, see ya. 10 years later Solas : I was not destroying the world, Rook !
Look man pick a side, make a choice, be clear, yeah? Do we really have to suffer this fool as an adviser? So glad they showed we can give back as good as we get from him, even if I don't think they do show his response. Honestly, he had multiple opportunities to say to his former colleagues that he wasn't trying to destroy the world and we weren't all going to die as a consequence of his plans. Why did he say what he did to the Inquisitor in Trespasser? Why didn't he correct Charter in Tevinter Nights? When he said the elves that remain may find the end result better than before, she took that to mean her human lover wouldn't survive. The reader also understood it that way. Then Varric is pleading with him and his only response is people die all the time.
Is it possible he is doing his damned equivocation again? No, he wasn't destroying the world but healing it. The fact that the healing process would kill countless millions of people doesn't take away from the fact that when it is over the world will be a better place. I suppose an appropriate analogy would be a cancer treatment. It kills the corrupted cells but also a fair few others as well in the process, although eventually the body as a whole will survive. So he wasn't destroying the world.

So when I read it earlier I didn't realize there was a video so made sure to watch the video.
Not really a lot to take away from here either other then it looks very good and continue to look good. I also noted that the Quanri female mage seems to have a full on staff as does Emrich.
Only real big thing there is the confirmation, full confirmation, of my theory on how the companion relationships will work in this game in terms of developping stuff with them and levelling them up and what not. We've got a few statements recently pointing towards that confirmation but this is basically here...companions will level up by doing stuff with them and their quests mainly. That is how they level up. I am sure the relationship will have some minor effect but the main thing is doing their character arcs. And as Corinne said this does set up a situation where they don't have to like you, they can even hate your guts, but they can work with you and work together because they are both professional enough. Which does set up potentially interesting character dynamics which sounds like it could be really deep if they do it right.
