Something I'm eager to see is how it all looks on low end PC. No way those hair are going to render properly, and in DAI the plastic helmet/beard effect was quite terrible. Possibly, although the hairs and beards’ plastic effects plagues every platform. The actual low-end ones, 360 and PS3 were definitely worse, but it was horrible all around.

Dude what is with this pessimism. Yes lower quality settings will yield lower quality results. Strands are probably merged on lower quality PCs. This isn't a new concept.

I'm cautiously optimistic about what I've seen. I think they'll come through in terms of important dialogue with characters that matter and their development. The Solas clip we saw where he denounces Elgar'nan looks like it'll be interesting. Not big on Solas pawning off his failings saying "its your responsibility", but its true to form for Pride to point the finger. Still don't like how the Qunari look and they're almost less than a month from release. Hoping for the character creator geniuses to miracle up a Qunari who doesn't suffer from a medical malady. Even though the gameplay is very flashy and arguably mmo-esque, it still looks like fun. As long as the character writing remains excellent, we're in for a good time. All that being said, IGN cannot be trusted, so I'll wait for more reputable sources to review it before purchasing. I suggest you do the same.

I'm not on PC, so my knowledge on the matter is limited. But wouldn't the hair physics be CPU-intensive rather than GPU-intensive?
Also, have we not seen gameplay on console with similar hair dynamics already? That would be relatively equivalent to a mid-level PC, no?

I'm probably being harsh but it's so funny to me that someone is telling me I should go to *one* thread in the forums to limit the doomerism in the social media forum dedicated to the game I'm coming to see people talk about. I don't know how to qualify it in any other way other than ... sad?

Can you imagine qunari Rooks constantly being roasted online and it's purely because you made a character everyone found ugly? I know I've definitely seen people post their modded Inquisitors on Reddit before and was less than impressed, but at least there it's seen by niche group of people. Lol would be a confidence blow for sure. Yes. I used the same face preset as "Tav" the basic human male that both fans and devs make fun of all the time lmao. Ya know. The one who looks like Rugan. The more I play BG3, I can't help but notice all the characters who share a face with some other NPCs. It's a Forgotten Realms version of Uncanny Valley. From what I've gathered, Veilguard seems to be avoiding that issue.

The hair tech used by the game was introduced in FIFA 2021 around 4 years ago. There are example of it and more recent edition of FIFA running on console online.

It's actually pretty cool how they don't need to look the same to be the same.

But they also use clever angles on NPCs to hide the times they don't. PC is also silent. Helps a lot. I think DAVG has mocap for companions and auto for others.

Especially because a lot of the faces they use are, uh... kinda ugly. I go back and forth on it.
Not crazy about silent PC there either, mainly because you always get close ups of them making the same three derpy expressions. I'm playing Rogue Trader right now and isometric camera is way more suitable for a silent protagonist, I feel, than close ups on face.

So, I'm largely hyped up again but one thing still troubles me. Did they say if they played the game on console or on PC? So, long as we have reassurance that at least one reviewer has played it on a PC (and what spec PC) and found it to be okay then I will be happy to go ahead and plan for launch date.
Still need to purchase a new PC to run the game. That's quite an outlay only to find it is generally clunky on PC so I'd really appreciate knowing how it handles on a mid-range range PC somewhere between the minimum and the recommended requirements for the game or whether I am going to have to pay more to get the latter. Is the recommended graphics card more important than the having the recommended processor?

Is the recommended graphics card more important than the having the recommended processor? It's recommended specs are a RTX 2070 and an i9-9900 on the nVidia/Intel side. That's pretty tame overall - both are so old that my hardware dealer doesn't have them on offer any more. If you buy new you'll probably be automatically comfortably above recommended specs on both, assuming you're going to play in 1080p. If you don't like the PC controls it might be worth checking if there's controller support for the PC version, but my guess is that you should be okay. They went through the trouble to make a Steam native version, so we can assume that the PC version isn't the red headed step child.

I went to check on non-BioWare places online what people are saying about this IGN piece and BioWare are going to sell copies just based on the hair tech. Everyone just want lustruous lively long hair straight out of a shampoo commercial!

They looked so absurdly good. I'm definitely playing a female rogue when I get around to playing a Crow. I wanna see that hair flopping around as I twirl in the air.

I think I just realized something about the dialogue wheel for this game compared to previous ones.
It has a "More" option at the bottom of the wheel, and if I recall correctly, it was used in the footage we saw as an "Investigate" analogue.
Leaving space for a total of up to six tonal options in dialogue. We've seen the thumbs-up, the comedy mask, and the figure with crossed arms on the right side, and the weeping eye on the upper left.

I will put a video in here there you can see where i got that from.
