Now this made the combat look much better then previous videos. Better facial animations to, i think?
Not so sure about Taash's voice though. Would have prefered a lower tone.

I appreciate that they brought back the original archdemon design and used it for Ghil.

Odd dragon battle. Where did the HUD go? Can't see any health bars or cooldowns or anything. I think they wanted to showcase how much UI we can disable. And the answer is almost all of it, i guess.

Red blighted dragon created blight puddles its breath and she spawned from it. Probably related to how the archdemons/Corypheus respawn via blighted creatures after "destruction". So very bad news in context. Hopefully this time round our hero will put two and two together and realise we need to come up with a better plan than just stick her with the pointy end. It always infuriated me in DAI that we had to wait until we saw Cory actually burst out of a Grey Warden before realising we might have a problem. Hawke told us they killed him but he didn't stay dead and they knew about Mythal hiding a piece of her soul in an amulet. Morrigan knew about the dark ritual. Solas knew way more than he let on but surely he could have made a few hints too. Not to mention our Grey Warden contact who knew he had survived too. (Or does no one talk to anyone else in Skyhold but the Inquisitor?) Given the prior knowledge of individuals you didn't need player meta knowledge to work that one out but, no, we all played stupid until the shock revelation in the Temple of Mythal. I never mind being presented with problems to overcome but I do resent if my hero and everyone around them has to behave like idiots for the narrative to work. Oh yes, and I expect Solas to get down from his high horse and tell us something useful before we are confronted with something we can't deal with by conventional methods.

So Ghilan'nain has Blighted dragons and 'true' Archdemons since they can generate a real Calling. She can travel/teleport via Blight pools/puddles and create/generate Darkspawn from said pools/puddles. Also note she can command/order Darkspawn herself without her Archdemon being nearby. Not to mention turning into a cloud to block out the sun and demoralise the opposition. Wonder how Elgar'nan compares and what group of enemies he commands.

Yeah, one enemy (a big one!), wider camera and etc - and the obnoxious combo AoE VFX was still there - but it was still a lot cleaner, precise, elegant and way more pleasant. I hope they get the message about cleaner UI and VFX. The response has been almost unanimously positive.

I really hope they keep everything about him secret until release, and I’m also curious in how he’ll be different from Ghilai’nain. It’s quite interesting that, contrary to earlier speculation, both blighted dragons first shown in the release date trialed are under her command.

The tech and resources now exist to really allow for UI customization so in essence some people like/ need that extra information to do their thing. Though also quite nice to see you don't need the incoming fire information to time your blocks.

For example, I obviously want ability bar to show up during combat, but i hope we can disable it during exploration. I also want to be able to make enemy health bars smaller.

I’m all for options, as well.

I'm going to worship our new Queen from...afar. If we can't even manage to put down one dragon correctly, resistance is futile. Also wonder when that happens. We have more clips of that "mission/encounter" in the release date trailer Ghilan'nain end-up hit by a ballista and Elgar'nan shows up to help her out.
I think they have hidden something in both trailers. Rook and cie defeating two archdemons, a none stop horde of darkspawns and two ancient Elven gods with just a few Wardens doesn't make much sense to me.

We know the warden took refuge in that blighted bog in what must be act 2? Are they still getting kicked while they're down?
I don't mind losing but this is depressing.

I don't mind losing but this is depressing. I think after Weisshaupt, but it might still be part of the Siege mission. Because I think the content creators played that part too. I saw one mention something about the kinda red dragon called by Ghilan'nain near D'Meta's Crossing early game. She knew what happened to it later and she said they were "color coded" to the Evanuris.
Well that Red dragon is probably the red archdemon that shows up.
So the Blue dragon might actually be the archdemon from the Siege mission (it has similar thingy under the jaw even if the color is different and its way more blighted), it was defeated probably but ran off. The Wardens hunted it down and we come to finish the job. And then we got the actual final of Act 1 that feels like the end of the game: fighting both bad guys.

I won't be surprised if Elgar'nan has a brand new power just to screw up any lore expectations since he's considered the very first Evanuris as far as the Dalish stories go. He has ties to Mythal also which is significant in itself, not to mention the so-called "Void", which really has me theorycrafting.

Really dig the trailer, It has that disgusting part of the blight back, broodmother tentacle perfection. And the gameplay looks pretty sweet.

Solas could turn people to stone *by looking at them.* He could kill his enemies in their sleep from half a continent away. Octomom better bring more to bear than summoning Blighted Pokémon and tentacle hentai to impress me. Solas doesn't need to look at people to turn them to stone. No h edoesn't he didn't look a tViddasala t oturn her as he was on his way through the Eluvian after asking he rpolitely to piss off when you show up to question him and he admits the truth about himself.

Really the number of abilities is quite superfilious. THis looks way better then Inquisition's mages given the mobility options involved. Better then just standing in place doing pew pews. I mean compared to previous games, the Mage combat looks excellent. The movement, the rapid cycling of spells is what's making really love it. Personally, I felt the mage gameplay in Inquisition was pretty boring where you stand in one place just shooting spells and occasionally casting barrier lol. Veilguard's Mage gameplay looks more involved. Yeah it reminds me of Hogwarts combat and Hogwarts was quite fun. I think the dragon fight will likely be one fo rme where I will need to stay on the move and whittle it down slowly though like wih most boses in Action RPG's a bit like the Geth cannon in ME2's Overlord DLC or the Architects in Andromeda. I think I should be able to though as I was able t otake down the Ranrok dragon at the end of Hogwarts Legacy. But if I do struggle I hav th egodmode t ofal lback on though I am hoping I don' t need it.

Odd dragon battle. Where did the HUD go? Can't see any health bars or cooldowns or anything. And luckily someone conveniently constructed a nice big round arena just next to the lair and the dragon kindly goes along with the expectation. The animations were mostly pretty good (the Wardens rushing into battle were a bit iffy, not leaning forward into their run at all) and I liked the general dramatic direction and camera angles. The voice lines were... eh, what can you do with such a scene. Not nearly as memorable as the visuals. Sad to see how the Wardens constantly get their rear ends handed to them. That elite blight fighting force must be a thing of the past. But I bet that for some reason Rook is going to need their help anyway. I thin kthat's because this is a boss fight boss fight sgenerall ytake place in big arenas in games. Genreall yI g oint omost big areas expecting something bi gan dnast yt opop up tha tneeds you to kill it like ME1's Thresher maws. Typical gaming stuff you know.

It feels like no matter how many tricks Bioware pulls out of the hat, some people have already made up their minds—they don’t like what they see. These are the ones who will find a single pixel to complain about, arguing the company didn’t color it the way they wanted. Well hey, at least this time a certain someone didn't wish for more BW staff to be fired because they're unhappy with the game that isn't released yet. Progress!

Didn't comment, but I thought it was a fairly well done trailer for what it needed to be. I think what would have been nice is to have the Grey Wardens periodically assist during battle. For example, stunning the Dragon will allow the Warden ballista to deal major damage to it (although you'd need to rework that cinematic). Would better sell that the Wardens are still capable, while also incorporating them into the gameplay.
