Still think they should implement something like a "training area" in the Lighthouse, something simple with waves of enemies so we could test out builds and synergies and all that stuff - as opposed to like, figuring it all out on the go and respec'ing a lot. DAI's MP, if nothing else, made you really good in combat, to the point I could only play Nightmare and even that didn't feel super challenging, at times. Veilguard would benefit from such a feature. I would also appreciate such a feature but I guess the prologue is meant to get you eased into the new style of combat. There are also confrontations in the Crossroads that you could also use as training because they seem to be on smaller scale than what you encounter in the wider world (at least initially). I assume there is nothing against you doing a few tumbles and dodges as you move around the world even when not in combat, just to get your eye in. Being shown how the mage build works with the various specialisms was really helpful. The fact you can change your mind and alter your skill tree if you find what you originally chose isn't working for you is a bonus. I have to admit I found it a relief to see how much of the effects you could toggle off in the latest trailer. That was part of my concern before. There seemed so much going on and visual distractions that I found confusing. Remove them and I started to appreciate the combat style better. I've never been the greatest fighter myself but I've managed to get through all three Dragon Age games and the MET on normal difficulty without getting killed too much. Of course one of the advantages of starting on normal is that you can dial it down if you are struggling or dial it up if it seems too easy. The latter has never really bothered me as I just bask in the glow of my brilliance. With all of them the tutorial was effectively part of the game play so I think I should cope okay.

Overall I don't think it was a great trailer. That said, the mage combat look much better than the crappy IGN stuff...too bad most of the marketing wasn't stuff like that. Ghil looked pretty awesome too...the only enemy design I've seen that I think actually looks cool.
