Is there a way to me scars look old. My scars look red and fresh. Looking for varric aged I'd like to know that too. Spent a lot of time with every setting and no dice. Transparency or saturation slider for them I think?????

Btw, there are two graphic settings you can tweak down a notch from their maximum - "Level of detail" and "Post Processing". No noticeable image loss, but a good gain in performance.
You can also just use the normal 2560x1440p resolution without DLDSR and without increasing the ingame resolution slider. The graphics are really well polished and DLDSR doesn't give much better results.

Running at 2560x1440p resolution and not using DLDSR. Didn't notice the other two will have a look tomorrow but gave up and installed MSI and changed the fan curve which made it obviously much better. The GPU is not getting over 80c so made the max curve of the fan kick in at 85c. Turned DLSS off but may have turned it back on and can't remember and can't be bothered turning the game back on now. With the fans is there some hardware thing I can perhaps look at in regard to the fans themselves or the motherboard or the GPU? I am just worried about long-term flattening the fan speed, it hasn't been an issue when I have gone back to native with any other game. People suggested turning of Bloom to make the game look better but I cannot find it as a game setting, do I have to do that in Nvidia?

The fans are fine. They are doing what they are supposed to. Modern games are just heavier than their predecessors. Because of RT (very heavy setting) and the option to use DLSS. So now games are developed to be much heavier than they used to. The developers expect you to use DLSS to help the GPU and decrease its load. Of course you can not use DLSS, but then you accept the fans being loud
Bloom can't be turned off ingame. It requires fiddling with a .ini file.
If you navigate to Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age The Veilguard\Settings and then open the ProfileOptions_profile file you can edit the bloom out by setting the GstRender.UI_Bloom setting to 0

A tip for other potentially confused people like me.
Veilguard has different keyboard bindings per class. For example, for Mage and Rogue right click is hip fire(ranged attack) and Q is defend. However the Warrior class keybindings reverses those and Q is ranged, and right click is defend. This appears to be a global setting, and it is reset when you start a new character based on the class of the character. I've been playing a warrior, but today I wanted to try something out so made a new mage, and then went back to my warrior playthrough and was very confused when suddenly my shield throw was bound to the right mouse button instead of Q. When I started the new character it switched the Class Keybindings to Mage, and it remained like that when I loaded up my Warrior saves. Keep that in mind if you're trying out different classes.

So started the Crossroads stuff, cleared The Lab thing but am unsure what to do now. I am not feeling 100% so maybe I am just missing something. I have accessed the light directing beams but pointing them at anything except the two little activation things up high seems to do nothing, they just glow and even that seems to do nothing. Cannot make them burn through the Red sealed off sections assume that needs another Champions core. It seems my only option is to go to Treviso through an Eluvian, is that it or am I missing something? Should this be spoilered? I am just starting the Crossroads. I was planning on going to Minrathous, but perhaps I cannot if the above is not solved ...

It seems my only option is to go to Treviso through an Eluvian, is that it or am I missing something? The puzzle with the light beams doesn't do anything for the red sealed off areas, it opens a door next to one of the beams. If the eluvian for Treviso is active look around for other active eluvians in the same area. Minrathas should also be available. They open up at the same time.

did anyone else have that audio crackling problem? like for example, just after the first cutscene in the game, when you start to walk with Varric through the city, the audio in the first dialogue started to sound like someone is talking through a webcam with bad internet it doesn't happen all the time, but I'm still in the beginning of the game and when it happens it is really annoying, really hard to hear the dialogues while they are crackling like that. I'm afraid that it could get worse later in the game did anyone experience something like that and was able to fix?

Has anyone experienced BSODs while playing the game? Sometimes, the game crashes, forcing me to restart, and I can't find anywhere what caused the BSOD. It started occurring even while first downloading the game. Outside Veilguard, my newest game is BG3, and I have almost no problems running it outside the occasional crash to the desktop once in 15 hours of play or so. I'm running the game on 1080p medium settings. It doesn't seem that I have the option to activate DLSS, though.
My system (a Dell Laptop): GeForce 2060 mobile GPU i7-10750H CPU 16GB memory I'm running this on Windows 11...

I have about a half dozen quests from the Regions/Factions tab outstanding that I would like to do before I continue the Main Story....But does it matter which order I do them in? Will it affect the Main Story depending on the order I complete them in?

Will it affect the Main Story depending on the order I complete them in? The approach I took was to only complete main story missions when every faction quest had been completed (and every companion conversation had). The order did not appear to matter. Quests that are 'Crossroads' related, don't appear to be time-gated, but obviously they need to be attended to before the 'Point of no Return'.

I have finished the game and I'm missing three achievements. Of one of them I know why, but the other two I have no idea. Does anyone know how to get the following achievements:
Enhancements! - It says upgrade one weapon, one armor and one accessory to their fullest level and rarity. I did that, however. Do you need to upgrade one item for every slot you have? Because I haven't got a legendary belt. In Peace . It says find hope in the aftermath. No idea what that means

Because I haven't got a legendary belt. At the workshop in the Crossroads, just head to your workshop during a pre-Point-of-no-return save with your unused pile of gold. Upgrade one - piece of armor, weapon, & accessory, until you can't upgrade any more. That'll pop it. You don't need a legendary belt, any belt will do, just keep upgrading it.
In Peace . It says find hope in the aftermath. No idea what that means It's an obscure achievement that involves picking flowers in the Hossberg Wetlands and giving them to a spirit. (no, I didn't trigger it organically either) Video:

I'm currently in my second playthrough in Act 1 and I have a question about a side quest. When I hover over docktown I get the message that there "is a new mission" in the area but I can't see any exclamation mark on the map to show the location. Is this a hidden quest and does anyone have an idea of what the trigger is? I'm trying to do a more thorough run this time and this is driving me potty trying to find it Is it finding the candlehops?

I'd say if there's no markers and you can access all areas of the map then you're good. Or go somewhere else, do other things. Double check before the 'Point of no return'?

Upgrade one - piece of armor, weapon, & accessory, until you can't upgrade any more. That'll pop it. You don't need a legendary belt, any belt will do, just keep upgrading it. That is odd, because I have quite a few level 10 belts, just no legendary ones. And amulets and rings don't count as accessories, because they have no level, just a rarity, and thus can't be upgraded at the Crossroads workshop. So I conclude that I do indeed need a legendary belt. Legendary is the highest level of rarity, which I need according to the description, but I can't rarity-upgrade any of those I have because you can only do that at a faction merchant, and then only if they happen to have an upgrade for a belt you already have in the epic variant. So the only way I can do this without playing another full game is to look for the 20 or so chests I missed and hope for the best.
I hate the random rarity upgrade system... I have a dozen or so legendary items I don't need.

Is there another method for upgrading the rarity of an item than buying the same item from a faction merchant or finding it in a chest? If so, I haven't been able to find it and I'd like to know how that works. The Caretaker workshop is no merchant.

Is there another method for upgrading the rarity of an item There is. You open the 'Upgrade' screen in the Caretaker's workshop. Pick the item. In your case 'any belt' and keep upgrading it until the achievement pops. Shop rank may be a factor, I did mine at Rank 10 before the PONR and I was swimming in materials.
