What did you do today in Dragon Age The Veilguard [Spoilers]

So spent some time changing my Rook and whilst still not 100% happy (just can't put my finger on it) she is at least less cartoonish:

Finally had time to play today.

Caius Mercar is a humorous person and he cracks jokes as much as possible. He's witty for sure, but that humor also serves as a mask for the anxiety he's feeling after what he did at the ritual. He blames himself for it and getting Neve (a fellow Shadow Dragon) hurt, but he's doing what he can to step up. So far though he's a reluctant leader, but Varric's insistence that he takes the lead doesn't leave him any choice.

In less RP terms, I pick the "Funny" option most of the time, and then the Worry (Panic) one whenever a situation gets out of hand, and Empathetic dialogue when he opens up.  I'm finding Rook to be fucking hilarious so I don't know why people have said he isn't. The jokes with Solas took me out. I will say that BioWare should have used the same "double" tag on dialogue that they did in DA2. "Funny" dialogue is sometimes not correctly "funny" as much as it is charming (the diamond symbol in DA2). I kinda noticed that on my mostly stoic but sometimes funny playthrough but I definitely feel it's the case now.

Mage gameplay has been quite fun. Once again it is completely different than my previous playthrough. I've only started mage, but I'm confident that it'll be a blast (pun intended). My general idea is to focus on Fire and Ice spells, and I will use Frost weapons primarily swapping to Fire for resistant enemies. Every spell so far has felt pretty awesome.

As an Evoker-aspirant I am trying to focus more on Staff usage and while it's been fun, Orb and Dagger is pretty awesome too. My Spellblade Crow playthrough just shot up in priority. Destructive Light, the ultimate, is absolutely bonkers. I used it on two darkspawn hurlocks obliterating them and making me cackle so hard it'll be a struggle to replace it with the Evoker ultimate. I love the Charged Attack sprint move that slams the staff on the ground. As someone who used sword/shield and dual weapon, Staff DPS is a surprise. I love how the charged attack applies statuses. Now I just need to find sources of Immovable...

I love that we got Hawke's armor JUST as I started my 1st mage playthrough. Absolutely loving the look.

Yeah gonna see how my 1st (mage) Rook looks in it haha.

So I am a bit frustrated, I played most of the day without Mods. This morning FMM worked 100% fine launched the game no dramas and played for about 3 hours.

Came back to play and it would not launch the game, went through the process launched EA App and said preparing game then an hourglass and then nothing, just back to the EA App.

Anyway uninstalled FMM and reinstalled it and exactly the same issue. Nothing has changed as when I played and FMM was fine was after the update.

Anyone else having issues?

Not personally, as I play on Steam and haven't installed any mods yet. However, I've had this issue with EA App/FMM for DAI, and one thing to check is whether EA App turned its overlay back on in settings. Try turning it off. Other than that, sometimes it takes several attempts to actually launch DAI for me.

I had this issue, and removing the ModData folder fixed it.

Option to turn off Bloom in new patch is game changer...
They also made Character Creator and Rook can be imported from there to main game; not Inquisitor.

Quick question:

I just had the second meeting with the Inquisitor. They were talking about how they were "good friends" with Solas (didn't romance and actually mostly ignored until Trespasser, now in DAV I actually kind of started to like him, so... fair enough?) and also about the other members of their team.

ie it feels like this would be the "recognizing past relationships" checkpoint and I have had the lingering fear I forgot to specify she romanced* Blackwall. Would this be the moment when that became obvious? Is there one even? And why do I care again? Would I justify a second playthrough just to rectify? Do I have OCD? How many questions are too many questions? Are the men going to "limit keyboard privileges" again if I keep this up?
