I finally finished my first playthrough Shadow Dragon Mage, Female Elf Inky who romanced Solas. The feels. I only lost Davrin and Assian (I spelled his name wrong), but that's to be expected of Grey Wardens, but still.

Whoever you pick for the team leader dies. Kinda different from how BioWare usually does it, but it was a cool twist.
Granted, that probably dooms Davrin for most of my future playthroughs unless BioWare does something in the next game (which could be very far from now if it does come out) to continue their story somehow. They said they never found any trace of whoever dies, so BioWare is clearly leaving the possibility open.

I am really not looking forward to going back there and looking Teia and Viago in the face. Teia and Viago are professionals and handle it like troopers. The rest though....
Edit to add sad panda pics from Ulric's game.
Picking Minrathous - not sure why these images came out so dark
While I am excited to see some new/expanded content for the Shadow Dragons, the devastation in Treviso so far isn't worth it. Both Heir and Fletcher (the merchant) are turned into darkspawn you have to kill, and Jacobus doesn't even want to talk to Rook anymore. Also, Chance has a constant cough that is likely the blight taking hold.
Such a motivator lol
I'm still going through Daria's screenshots....since I replayed certain sections multiple times I have multiple versions of the same thing several times over.
Damn now I am second guessing myself, I love the Crow crew, I so wish you could romance Teia she flirted with my female Elf yesterday. I am madly trying to get Lucanis as pumped-up bond wise as I assume he gets hit the same as Neve does if Minrathous is left to defend itself. Poor Harding from my romance previous PT to forgotten Child of The Stone this PT. I keep meaning to post but am usually too busy commenting or too busy like you going through so many screenshots that I just give up and file them all.

The Storm Quelled Trophy question. So, I saw the post credit scene, and who are The Excuters and why was everyone in the comment section being like they've been here before? They're hinted at for most of the game, especially in Taash's questline.
We don't know who they are, but they guided events patiently throughout the ages to subtly push people towards desired outcomes.
We don't know what the goal is yet, but even the "Devouring Storm" exterminated those beyond the sea (including the Qunari progenitors) and put the fear of god into the Evanuris.
It's probably just setup for the next set of Dragon Age games since the current narrative (Elves, Blight. Evanuris) has been effectively resolved.

While I'm disappointed at no expansions. I feel content and maybe it's a good thing? I mean I wouldn't have said no to more to content, especially if it were like Citadel in ME3, but unlike DAI there's no loose plot threads out there. They did a good job wrapping up the story that has been building up since Origins. They seeded a few things, but those are for full games if we do get another DA game. Otherwise it ended on a good note.

Yeah I love Minrathous but unless I'm playing a Shadow or a very pragmatic character, Treviso is the much better pick for the overall experience. I picked Minrathous a 2nd time cause I'm from there but blighted Treviso is just so.... Sorry Neve. Damn it another person making me doubt my resolve to abandon Treviso!!!!!

Had my first and hopefully last invisible wall glitch. It did come in handy though since I needed a break and it was a good kick in the back. Happened in Dock Town when my Shadow Rook met his idol. So star struck he yeeted himself back into the Crossroads on reload. Also may or may not have played through Emmrich's dinner date with the dwarf for the second time, then reloaded so I can treat myself to it again next session.

So been busy playing the last two days with Aurora The Veil Jumping Rogue but it's still early Act 1. Have recruited Lucanis and done some visits to Treviso and also to Dock Town and of course Arlathan. In one of the places got a Champions Essence, think it was Treviso. Advanced Bellara as far as I can romance wise but wondering if I picked a wrong dialogue choice during the quest to align the artifacts as I am sure last PT I got a Heart Option that I didn't take as I was romancing Harding. This time I didn't get one??? Anyway she's the highest Bond of any of the Companions I have and have thrown the flirts at her on other occasions and got her an electronic frog. Explored The Crossroads a little bit. Pic's Bellara Lucanis A watchful spirit, who invited him to movie night i.postimg.cc/gjWhQdng/bandicam-2024-12-06-16-54-16-465.jpgDorian enters stage right rocking the Mullett, was this some sort of Bioware inside joke all the Mullets? Hanging around in Treviso Dock Town with Neve

I picked Minrathous a 2nd time cause I'm from there but blighted Treviso is just so.... Sorry Neve. Damn it another person making me doubt my resolve to abandon Treviso!!!!! It just makes sense. Well neither choice is better than the other. It just depends on what your character (or you if self-inserting) values. Minrathous is the logical choice in the moment, while Treviso is the more empathetic one.
However it's not about what's right or wrong. It's about what makes for a better story overall.
For example, I think Hardened Neve is a much better character than Hardened Lucanis. Also, Neve 's arc feels much more desperate and interesting when Aelia has more local support. On the other hand, Lucanis loses a lot of story for no real benefit.
It's not all better though. You do lose out on the interesting Dorian quest involving the knight commander. But that's the only real narrative downside tbh for a non-Shadow playthrough.

Yeah my choice the first time was influenced heavily by the fact that I was a Crow and not going to abandon my city, family and comrades but also on the logic that well Treviso only has the Crows and I assume whatever military The merchant Princes have. Minrathous is massive and has the magisterium and a huge military and a ton of mages plus The Shadow Dragons.
This time I am really just making the alternate choice because I have not done it but it is going to hurt.

It's cool how we get attached to certain people or places in these games and don't want to see them harmed, even temporarily. I'm invested in Minrathous, rather than Treviso. I hope the Crows really surprise me, because I like all of the Shadow Dragons much better. I expect to lose time with Dorian, Maevaris, Ashur, and Tarquin. I'm hopeful that Lucanis' expanded story will offset the loss. Also, as Lebanese Dude says, Neve's story will differ. Given that Minrathous gets thoroughly blighted by Elgar'nan, saving Treviso might be a greater gain in the big picture. I'm looking forward to experiencing and enjoying the differences, but I don't expect I'll ever truly like the Crows. Their organization is terrible. In some ways, they're the polar opposite of the altruistic Shadow Dragons. Aiding Treviso is definitely something I do for the non-combatants. If it were dependent upon my liking the Crows, they'd be doomed. Braithwyn Aldwyr has reached level 21. I've essentially reached the same spot at which I abandoned her Rogue playthrough. I'm still an uncommitted Mage, having not yet chosen a Specialization. There are so many great skills in the main tree (or rat's nest?) that I will probably grab a few more before committing. As I said above, I'm looking forward to seeing the differences in the two cities, and really looking forward to experiencing Lucanis' more complete arc. It's hard to believe that I've played 2.5 playthroughs without seeing his entire story. Weird design choice, given that we're still seemingly bros in his truncated arc. I've been subtly tinkering with Rook's face, and feel like she's nearly perfect, at this point. That said, I'm itching to alter her skin and hair color a bit, to see if she finally clicks 100%. And there's the name change. I'll almost definitely go with something Welsh. I just lazily threw out an "A" name because it was easy. It's not bad, though, so I might actually use it. 😄 I might edit this post if I settle quickly on something else. EDIT: I started with Welsh and gently twisted, coming up with Braithwyn.

I did the last push and completed my Aldwir Rogue run. Redemption seems better to me without Solavellan romance as part of it. Offscreen, Rook is definitely planning for a future proposal and pestering Davrin for a griffon of her own because she's earned it, dammit.

I wish I could save Minrathous and have all that comes with that except keep auto-hardened Neve's subplot (but get her non-hardened Hero of the Veilguard robes!), and non-hardened Lucanis and his Spite quest from the Treviso path I'm reliving the DAI split-choice again where I wanted to get the mages but have Calpernia as Cory's second-in-command leading red templars. Also side with Roche but have the Saskia and Phillipa part of the story in The Witcher 2.

Made it through 'the choice' with Daria. Got some good shots from Davrin's initial quest. Went back to Treviso for the art theft and start of the 'spies' mission, and also managed to (barely) take out the Champion there. It's level 30, I'm level 22, Duelist. Also opened up another Crossroads area but I'm leaving the fight with Betrayal of Felassan for later.
Next for Daria will be taking Assan for a walk-turned-truffle-hunt, buuuut first I need to get back to Ulric's game.

Made the choice to save Minrathous. OMG I so wanted to back out and go to an earlier save after going to Treviso, I might have gotten a little bit upset.
