So far I find the grey warden faction to be the most immersive but I’m early into act 1. Just curious if others disagree

In Minrathous and when working with Neve, I found Shadow Dragons immersion well done.
My 2nd PT, I played a Warden, and so far it is all around the most immersive since your characters comment on the Blight outside of Warden missions. It almost feels like the game should be played that way. I might be feeling bias and nostalgic from DA:O though. "Blight up ahead, I feel it."
I can't comment on the rest.

Been playing as a Warden up to later act II, and feel like being a Warden is the strongest faction choice by far because the Blight is everywhere.
It was only weak early act 1 because they needed Harding to exposition to you and had Warden Rook ask a Blight question that made me go WTF

I think it's going t ob ehard fo reac hof us t ojudge until w epla yal 6of them but for me I'm definitel yfinding m yWarden Rook prett yimmersive. Sh edefinitel yfeels connected t othe world around her and cares abou twhat's happenin gan dshe want's to put it right as she feels it's partly her fault. A tleas tthat's how I'm RP'ing her. So far I'd say it's working.

I think wardens def take the win with all the blight and even more so if you go elf or dwarf for the bonuses to the gods/titan stuff. Then it's probably either one of the big act 1 city factions. So crows or dragons.

How could one possibly tell without beating the game from beginning to end 6 times over, with every faction available? All we have to go buy right now are hunches, honestly.

I agree with the consensus that it's the Wardens, but like everyone else I'm guessing. I don't think anyone here has had time to finish this game six times already . (Well, anyone who's not local BioWare Ninja Luke Barrett, anyway.) Lords of Fortune is the one I played first, which was about what I expected - fun vibes, great outfits, minimal faction involvement in the plot. I expect Mourn Watch is the same way, with the Veil Jumpers, Shadow Dragons and Crows in the middle for plot relevance and the Wardens on top. It seems like the 'best' Rook is a dwarf or elf Grey Warden.

Think Solas and Bellara already addressed this point Whether or not they are literally 'your gods' most of the rest of Thedas views the Evanuris as a very Dalish thing and would hence blame the Dalish for them getting out. Solas was afraid and Bellara was willing to take some responsibility in the matter.

I care about what MY Rook says, and what comes out of MY Rook's mouth. And what comes out of Rook's mouth can't be an andrastian or atheist city elf because they constantly say "our gods". Point for the case, literally not one of our companions says "our gods" unless they have pointy ears. Like Bellara and Davrin.

My point is that the line can be interpreted as a distinction between our gods (owing to Elven culturural heritage) and my god as in what an individual Rook's religion is. Afterall contextually this is how both Solas and Bellara use the line, Bellara certainly has no reason to believe that the Evanuris are her gods per the events of the game and the codex, and yet she refers to them as such because of the responsibility she feels and also the worry about what the rest of society will do to the Elves because it is *their fault* that *their Gods* are rampaging about. And Solas certainly never believed they were gods but he had largely the same concern in Inquisition.

From what I gather around the net, it seems the best ones are Grey Warden and Mourn Watch, while the race should be either elf or dwarf.
Some people say Shadow Dragons too, but I played one and, well - meh. Veil Jumpers are also not unique enough. I guess I will be keeping the best for last My next playthrough would be a Grey Warden.
Humans definitely don't have unique interactions. Qunari also seem to be on the lower end.

If you play a Grey Warden you're not a Dalish elf. You're a city elf. If memory serves you can say you have Vallaslin you did at a later age to reclaim your heritage. With the mirror stuff. I'm not sure elves can be Dalish in this game. Perhaps Veil jumper.

I finished a Shadow Dragon run and am now playing as a Grey Warden, where I went as far as recruiting all party members. So far, I have the impression that Shadow Dragon has a lot more unique dialog choices, but I suspect Grey Warden will catch up once I get into the wetlands and Weisshaupt.

Definitely you can be Dalish, my character talks about his clan customs and when you meet a character from Davrin's past you can indicate that you are Dalish. The bonus point is that I prompted Taash to follow multiculturalism and the dialogue indicated that I was from the city but he didn't stay there. And in the end, it's cool because it fits my character - like Strife, he comes from the city he eventually left to join his people.
After that I play Veil Jumper so I don't know how much the faction influences. I will do a more in-depth investigation with my two other planned elves.

Oh, hey, while we're talking about factions and backgrounds - if you play as a Qunari Lord of Fortune, the first conversation quest with Taash reveals that Rook used to be a Tevinter galley slave.
This is not the case for Qunari from other factions (I have a friend who's playing a Qunari Veil Jumper who checked) but I'm wondering if the ex-slave backstory is the same for all Lords of Fortune or if it's a Qunari thing. Anyone out there playing a non-Qunari treasure hunter?

As a warden? Because when I used the mirror my elf said she wasn't Dalish. Oh I was responding to that assertion : "I'm not sure elves can be Dalish in this game. Perhaps Veil jumper." After for a GW elf I can't say. Maybe if you explore the game more, there would be more possibilities to rp as a Dalish and just consider the mirror thing as a faux pas. I admit that I just used the mirror to talk about scars.
phoray I have a Crow elf like you, it's going to be boring if I can't say somewhere no they're not my Gods, I'm not really religious and I just kind of believe in the Maker / Andrastian faith.

Actually I'm thinking that until we have the whole list of adjustments made by the different faction/race combinations and the answers to some choices, it's going to be hard to choose the perfect combination / answers for our perfect rp.
Or maybe you have to be lucky like I was. If Taash's answer about multiculturalism hadn't given me the answer I wanted, I probably would have had to reload and test the other answer.
