Where did you find this? I'd love to read the extra lines for other characters. As I said, there was the leaked script in a tlk file, but can't find it anymore. There was a link to this in the old Ashley Sanctuary group on BSN, but I can't even log in there.

There was a link to this in the old Ashley Sanctuary group on BSN, but I can't even log in there. All I meant was where you originally found it (online? something people found in game files? received from someone else?) Doesn't matter anyway, I guess. I found something on Reddit that is supposedly what you're talking about, but some of the conversation you posted isn't in there anywhere, so I'm guessing you had something more complete than what I just found.

Thanks for sharing that saito404, very nice read. How people can hate Ash is beyond me. That dialogue was lovely, all the more proof there's way more to her than 'sometimes I can't tell the animals from the aliens'.

Well, I was able to log in on BSN, found my old link to the leaked file aaaand... it's gone for good. Good riddance (I HOPE THE REAPERS SEND YOU TO HELL). Anyway, here is a link to Ashley's Sanctuary. Some pretty good stuff there. social.bioware.com/group/7931/&v=discussions

Not really sure how to feel about Ash. I never played ME1 (came in on ME2 from ps3) and when i played ME3....i thought she was ok, but she came across as a biatch in that game.....i haven't played the game SP game in years, but i somehow remember her going against Shep even after knowing that he wasn't really down with Cerb...etc...it seemed even after all of the stuff Shep was doing, she was still being a jerk towards (again i could be wrong, but that is how i remembered it)... Very first ME3 playthrough tho i romanced that a$$.... ......She kinda had me the way Miranda had me in ME2...."oh you think you're a badass?...you wanna talk s**t?".....haha...that made me romance Miranda/Ash and break that a$$ down....

She's the best - great attitude, loads of interesting stuff to say, excellent chemistry with male Shepard, unkillable. My Adept took her almost everywhere in Mass Effect 1.

Well at least you gave her a try. That is the most that we can ask, really. Miranda is one of my favorites as well (Mostly because I was a Yvonne Stahovski fan before the game). A few of the crew/ squad changed between the games, some more than others, because of their original writers leaving/ changing due time/ whatever.

To be fair to Ash (who I've never romanced because it's always Kaidan), this is just what BioWare did to the Virmire Survivor. They distrust Shepard, almost die, flirt and start to fall for Shepard again, but then the distrust is (depending on how you've played things) at least partly back at the end of the Cerberus Coup. However, should Ash survive that, and you pursue her romance, I'm pretty sure she changes her tune. Or so I assume based on Kaidan.

Yeah and she's no sycophantic door mat. She doesn't kiss ass she kicks it. Some serious combat power there. Here's a random Sci-fi Tin Foil Ref:

Best written female in videogame evaaaaa.
I have a question guys, do you know some dialogues she has with the rest of the crew? Because I feel like Ashley was kinda on the side when it comes to bonding with everyone. Obvious one is James but I don't remember a lot of other examples.

She doesn't bond as much with the crew as Kaidan.

Actually with Ash if you pursue her romance in ME3 she changes her tune. She trusts you during and after the Citadel Coup. She will obviously trust you outright if you are good to her and visit her on the Citadel. Makes sense to me. But the line that is great for Ash is when you take her to assault TIM's base. When you look at video of Shep's reconstruction, she says something pretty cool. When Shep starts to feel overwhelmed she will respond with "Screw those Cerberus freaks. You're you!"Basically showing that she isn't doubtful of Shepard (when she thought that Shepard could be an indoctrinated husk back on Mars) and that she also doesn't side with Cerberus simply because they are human. It shows that everything Shepard does with and for her during the course of the game has made her trust Shepard completely.
As for Ash. I started out indifferent to this character. I was always a Miranda or Tali guy and I preferred Kaidan as a character also. But I actually did her romance and gave her a fair shot. I would say she actually fits great with broshep and has great synergy with him. I really love that paragon broshep is like a cheesy cornball with her. And her reactions to his awful "dad jokes" are great. Her VA is great as well. My only problem with Ash is many of her scenes are actually kind of lacking in ME3. She gets fewer scenes with her romance than Kaidan, Garrus or Tali. She also barely speaks in ME3 to you on the Normandy unlike the three I mentioned. She just hangs out there. Kaidan gets so much more interesting dialogue with both gender Sheps on the Normandy. Ash got shafted.
In the Citadel DLC, her drinking scene flat out sucks. Its not romantic and its not funny either. She definitely feels like she got the least amount of time put into her romance in ME3. But it was great in ME1. It was solid in ME3 also. Some scenes with her are flat out great. Ultimately I think Ash's romance is better than Miranda's now and is on par with Tali and Jack's.

Probably my favourite scene in the series is when she comes to comfort Shepard after the Normandy is impounded in ME1. Those who think Ash is a jerk should watch that.
I may be in the minority, but I like her in ME2. I suspect her reaction on Horizon is how my Shepard would have responded if the boot was on the other foot. After everything Cerberus did in ME1, he'd be horrified to see her working for them. I loved the email too.
She does maybe get short shrift in ME3 compared to some characters, but she definitely has some nice moments like her banter with Tali on the geth ship and the scene where you rekindle the romance and I'm certainly happy to have her around. Mass Effect without Ash just feels wrong.

Mass Effect without Ash just feels wrong. Agreed. People who say Ash is a racist jerk just like to write things off without seeing the bigger picture. Its the same as people who call Kaidan whiny and boring. When he never really whines. Being mistrustful is not the same as being racist. And yeah, that email she writes to you in ME2 is great. Its especially great if you watched the video where Kimberly Brooks voices over it. Its quite emotional on Ash's part. I also like that she doesn't also agree with everything Shepard does and she speaks her own mind, but still respect the chain of command. And sadly, what little she gets is simply not enough in ME3. The romance is really good overall though and likely one of the strongest for male Shepard. She could have had some scenes where she bonds a bit more with Garrus or Wrex in the Citadel DLC, but she barely acknowledges them. She does have her moments as you said. Some of my personal favorites are back on Mars. When you tell her you need her and she says "that's what I needed to hear." She has a smile that says it all really. The other is the final romance scene on the Normandy. After you wake up from your dream she sort of just looks at you and smiles. She doesn't say much, but you can tell she loves you in that scene. Literally my only gripe with Ashley outside of lacking content in ME3 is that I have to let Kaidan die. I like him a lot as well.

I agree, though, that Shepard would likely have reacted the same way if Ashley had been the one to join Cerberus. Still, I think some actual communication - from Anderson, Hackett and one another - would have gone a long way. Heck, if Shepard even replied to the message sent after Horizon it could have altered things on Mars.

How different would that scene, on Horizon, played out if T'soni told the Alliance that Shepard's corpse is in the hands of Cerberus, assuming they tell A/K? The problem is that as soon as the word Cerberus is mentioned, A/K forgot about the collectors and focused on Cerberus If my Shepard knew A/K were working with Cerberus, she might join them to deal with the collectors and to help find a way to stop the reapers since the Alliance isn't doing anything.
