I really learned to like Ash in ME1 after a few playthroughs, but I'm appalled by her horrendous redesign in ME3 that the thread title seems to celebrate Well, I wasn't cool with it either. I mean she looks good and all but it kinda felt out of character for her because I think of Ash as being more practical. But honestly, I can think of worse things than her re-design in ME3.

Doth my eyes deceive? Or are you using a combination of the Ashley Battlepack Expanded and the Ashley Warpack? Alongside the EGM?

Thats right. Mehem, Recalibrated, Expanded Galaxy Mod, Backoff, Ashley Warpack Legacy Edition and Ashley Battlepack. Just finished Cidadel DLC, and heading to Cerberus base. Everything goes fine. Only in casino mission, Ashley looked like eee... vanilla Ashley. Why wonder? First mod change her look in battle second during shore leave or in Normandy.

For the casino infiltration mission, I recommend using the Ashley Legacy mod (the author modifies the her casino look). It should prove compatible with your listed mods.

gancuI suspect I may have an answer to your query: Delete the "BioH_Exp3_Ashley_1" pcc from the DLC_CON_AshWar folder. That should do the trick. Then apply the Ashley Legacy Edition Mod.

So I have two Obbie Shepards. One that romances Ashley and one that romances Kasumi after ME3 (shut up don't judge me). I was running through ME3 because I recently bought the DLC weapons. And I wanted to see which class goes the best with Ashley (learning towards Vanguard and Sentinel). I was on the Mars section and I wanted to test out the renegade line after Shepard gets upset at Ash comparing him to the husk like Centurion. I was really surprised by Ash's reaction here. She turns away and has a really disheartened look on her face while saying "sir." I was really impressed by how dynamic her reaction is based on what you say. I never did this choice before because I like being nice to Ashley because I feel that is the most appropriate relationship with her. Plus her "that's what I needed to hear" and that smile afterwards is too good. But this was still cool nonetheless. Oh and Ash looks really good with a Typhoon in her hands.

<snip>[Ashley] is in most of my playthroughs. To get her back on the ship, I do Menae, Sur'Kesh, turian platoon or rachni, cure/sabotage the genophage and Citadel coup. Mike, hi. Can you describe why and how doing the above ME-3 missions, highlighted in bold (except Citadel Coup, when she isn't shot), will get Ashley back on the Normandy sooner rather than later? Is this what you are implying? I love taking Ashley with me everywhere in ME-1 and ME-3. If the above missions shorten the time to get her back on my team, I'd love to know how. Thanks. KC

Is this what you are implying? Doing the least number of missions will get her back on the Normandy quicker. The only downside to what I posted is not saving the students at Grissom. Aside from Grissom, side missions can be saved to do after the coup

Aside from Grissom, side missions can be saved to do after the coup Hey - thanks Mike. Very appreciated. I also just reviewed your terrific post regarding ME-3 WA points, and see how the primary and ancillary WA points will be lost if the Grissom Acad. students are not recovered (bypassed?). Well over 100+ WA pts., by my count, when all assets are counted up. I'm heading to G.Academy very soon in my current ME-3 run. I just love those biotic wanna-bees; they're so eager to get into the fight! And I really love the challenge of that mission/level. Thanks so very much for sharing your feedback on this and other questions too. You made a lot of helpful comments about the suicide mission, which I have read with great attention. Kind regards, KC Edit: I just reviewed the list of Ashley's Unique Dialog in mass effect.wikia HERE. Apparently Ashley has no dialog even if she were available. I never realized Ashley can't go to Grissom Academy. There are so many interesting aspects to ME-3; a clever game to get through in order to play 'the perfect run-through'. I think ME-3 is much more of a "I-Need-To-Think-This-Through" than I've seen elsewhere; and it's partly why I love ME-3 (and ME-1) so much.

Hey all, nice to see the thread still alive. I haven't played the game in ages but at times I watch streams on Twitch and it's just aggrevating how much hate there is for Ash. Hard to find someone that likes her. I guess she's an acquired taste.
There was this Kotaku article stating that EA is mostly focussing on Anthem and other games had to suffer/have suffered because of it, Andromeda being one of them. It's a dying shame really. I'm 100% sure that if they focussed on more Shepard and Ash for that matter, it would have done way better. But well, I've talked about that too much really. Still bothers me. Funny how that works. Haven't touched the vanilla ME games in ages. The first trilogy just made a very big impression I guess.

Every now and then you can find someone that has changed their mind, or at least did the full arc with her. They usually end up a little less harsh on her; Ash might not be their favorite, but have less hate anyway. ME, specifically 1-3, left quite the impression on me too. I can agree with that.

Kaidan: We've made our reports. Now we just have to trust Ambassador Udina. Ashley: No we don't, sir.
Damn, that makes me like her just that little bit more. She and I are truly on the same page regarding politicians, especially the ones featured in all four Mass Effect games.

Funny, how other character make racist remarks and are more religious than her, yet none of them gets as much hate as she does. Anyway, most people play ME with the mindset "Aliens interesting, humans boring"

Its silly that people will just hate on two humans for what because they are "human" and "real" about things. The reasons why I love Ashley is because shes a hardcore realist and she's never holding back on how she feels personally. Ashley is a badass and she just awesome in general. I would honestly be scared to be on her bad side lol. Ashley is a perfect companion for MaleShep. I don't like other crew member with my MaleShep than Ashley.......and kaidan too And Hello fellow Ashley fans. I'm also a fan of Ashley and I love that girl so much. Nice to see everyone supporting one badass chick.

Hard to find someone that likes her. I guess she's an acquired taste. People don't often listen to what she actually says, accuse her of racism and being a religious nutjob. Funny, how other character make racist remarks and are more religious than her, yet none of them gets as much hate as she does. Anyway, most people play ME with the mindset "Aliens interesting, humans boring" I admit I was reserved about her initially too, but she definitely grew on me. It wasn't because "aliens interesting, humans boring", it was just that I was happy building a team including Garrus, Tali, Liara and Wrex. They'd been established early on as individuals with their own personal motivations that had little to do with advancing their race or something, and I greatly appreciated their help. They seemed to be fine working with humans and the other squadmates, so while I was developing a relationship with them, I talked with Ashley and she complained about having aliens on board, which I found irritating. Not least because they seemed to be just "aliens" to her, not "Garrus" or "Tali" etc. I later understood she never meant to hate or devalue aliens (and of course, her family history with Turians wasn't too pleasant), and it was indeed rather security concerns than personal aversion. She seemed to grow with the experience, and I grew too by understanding her--something that games rarely do with me. In that sense, I'm more thankful to Ashley than almost anyone else in the series. It is often overlooked that there's this discussion with Terra Firma, isolationists who fight against mankind developing relationships with aliens, and if you brought Ashley along, she calls them out for being racists. That's where it becomes clear she can very well make a distinction between that and having concerns about aliens being on a top secret Alliance starship. It's a bit like, I don't hate Russians or Chinese at all, I'm just concerned about the risk of having them onboard some vital NATO prototype submarine. And yes, there's player hypocrisy involved. I found one of the earliest ME conversations irritating, that with Nihlus and Anderson. The Normandy was developed with the help of the Turians after all, they have one Turian spectre on board, who even reveals that he recommended Shepard for becoming a spectre, which requires a lot of trust. Not much later when you become one, Shepard either accepts it as a great honour or complaining that it was about time, but in that conversation Shepard seems reserved, their main concern being "if this is good for humanity". And then of course there's TIM, who is considered a great/interesting character by a great lot of players who dismissed Ashley for being racist. Unlike Ashley, TIM has proven he's a human supremacist (not to mention that Ashley has high ethical standards, and TIM has none). On Horizon, there's this encounter that is rightfully shunned for being half-arsed. However, Ashley asks you what the fuck is wrong with you, working for those racist Cerberus cunts. And she's right. She seems to be more principled than Shepard.

I too didn't like Ashley at first, but I absolutely grew to love her more and more. She's like a big sis to Femshep and the most hot badass gf for Maleshep you could ever want. Seriously the girl knows what she's talking about in every situation you get. I rather play my sheps in biotic form tbh, Sentinel, vanguard, adept....etc. I would mostly take her, garrus and/or wrex with me in most missions in ME1 except for crew missions (sometimes). In some convos Shepard can be naive and hypocritical at times. I'm like really dude, have you listen to yourself lol. I'm currently watching a playthrough that romances with Ashley throughout the trilogy on ME2 right now. I'm waiting til I build my pc. I'm almost done just waiting on my card and need to buy a few parts. It seems like an eternity to build my first PC. Long story short lets say my card that I ordered back in Jan 12 isn't coming soon yet... Anyways....Ashley is a strong independent woman that I admire so much. Honestly I wish I was like her tbh. She has somewhat became a role model to me. She's kinda similar to me in certain situations. Its weird though because I never thought I would be a bit similar to a character in the mass effect series, but there you go. Gosh I wish I knew how to create scenes for mass effect just to be with her with my maleshep. Ash does have some sense of humor though. Maybe that's just me laughing at silly jokes and such lol. But yea, Ash is just my fave female character in the whole series. I absolutely love this woman.

I've noticed across several games that some gamers tend to hate characters who question their actions and love those who agree. Those gamers are usualy the most vocal and comments like "lol killed character X" get hundreds of likes. Thats just annoying.

People generally trash Ashley because she's "mean" to Liara in ME1, they accuse her of racism, think she isn't valuable as a soldier/character because of her skill set or because she questions Shepard's involvement with Cerberus and calling out on his bullsh*t (Kaidan too but I've seen him getting more love lately).
Personally, Ash even goes well with my canon soldier Shep and I like her character. Originally, I didn't like her myself because I was listening to what others said until I got my hands on the whole Trilogy (Playstation player here). Liara on the other hand, is a conniving bitch. She gets only so much love because of her cutesy-girl shtick and her character revolving around Shep, on top of BW constantly shoving her down my throat.
I think people just don't understand Ash or don't even want to
