Right, now let's get back to Cora. I'm interested to see how the romance arc flows. I'm having a hard time deciding between Cora and Vetra. Help. Cora. I'm going to break my habit of playing by girls only and play as Scott just to romance her... But I don't know if I'll do that in my first playthrough yet.

...hate to burst your bubble, but that's not gonna happen. If they intended those characters as straight, they likely didn't record any dialogue for Sara/Cora. Which means it'd be a whole lot more than simply flicking a switch and making them bi. You'd end up with some creepy silently staring Ryders, like those DAI mods that unlocked romance options like Cassandra. They can always record some more. It happened before in other games where devs forgot about continuity and had to fix their mistakes with a patch so I don't see a reason why wouldn't they do the same. Heck, it even happened with TV Shows - they made a huge mistake which they found out about after the ep was aired thanks to huge negative backlash so they fixed it on DVD mostly by recording different dialogue for a scene. I know it's most likely not gonna happen here though, but it would be nice to see them actually listening to people. They knew Liam and Cora were most wanted (along with Jaal, but he's still unknown) and they failed. Maybe once upon a time that'd be possible, but these days tampering with BioWare characters after they've been established is almost sacrilege. It's still worthwhile to voice displeasure so perhaps the next "Cora" will be more available. However... clinging to the false hope that they'll one day "fix" Cora or Liam will only prolong disappointment.

Since they screw up over and over for years, I'm afraid even if the next "Cora" will be more available, they won't have nearly as much fans as they could've get if they made this Cora available. People were rooting for her, they knew that and chose not to listen anyway.

Damn, finding out Cora is indeed straight is a great pity. I was really hoping for a different outcome, though I can't say I was shocked by the news. Now this throws a big fat wrench to my plans on playing FemRyder primarly. I guess I'll play both Sara (with Vetra) and Scott (with Cora) and then decide which one is my canon Ryder (yes I'm that kind of person haha). Some Cora art for comfort ![](https://68.media.tumblr.com/47d35751e7dba030c44d794c4c4b3441/tumblr_okvbyjlSbD1rwbv1yo1_r1_1280.jpg)

Cora was likely a written and an established character in BioWare's own canon years before we the fans even learned about her existence. So any feedback on her is inherently too late. This game has been in development for 5 years, we only started learning significant details... what, 6 months ago? Also I don't really agree they risk losing too many fans. Even if people didn't get the specific kind of LGBT representation they wanted, where else are they going to get anything like what BioWare gives? Who else makes games like they do? They're certainly not the only company making games with gay characters in it, but I can't think of anyone else who tells their kind of stories. Not AAA devs anyway.

The thing is it's not only about Cora. People made it clear - Cora, Liam and Jaal. Cora and Liam are out. Jaal is still a question mark. Some people likes Vatra at least now, but we don't know how it'll go. I don't think she's going to be most popular tbh. Peebee is hard to predict. I think most f/f will chose Suvi, but it won't be their most wanted choice so they won't fully enjoy it. To romance Cora you're forced to play as Scott, to romance Liam you're forced to play as Sara. There's a group of people who simply dislike being forced to play the other gender in games where you can chose male or female hero so the game won't fully satisfy quite a lot of people (I'm one of those). This will make many of them question BW in the future (I'm not one of those, although I can't say I'm satisfied) more than ever since even when BW knew what people wanted, they chose to fully follow their plan without listening to their customers. It's like - you go to a really great restaurant and you find a nail in your soup, second dish isn't warm enough and there's a hair on your steak, you may still go back there again to give them second chance, but if this repeats once or twice again, you most likely won't come back. BW failed quite a few times in the past and angered many people with ME3 ending. They don't learn from their mistakes. It's difficult to say how much they failed this time, but one thing for sure, there's quite a lot of negativity right now and tons of disappointed customers.

I don't love Garrus (as a LI), don't find him attractive, but the FemShep-Garrus is probably the best romance in the trilogy and I'm saying this as a sane Talimancer. I gladly played FemShep to experience that. These BW romances offer the ~ideal of stereotype romances. Friends to lovers, tough shell-soft interior, etc. I think the problem is that a lot of people self-insert into these main roles, personally want to bang the LI-s, but ingame it's not happening. That is what the fanarts are for. I'll be disappointed if Vetra is just leading Scott on, but if the writer intended her romance arc to be with a Sara then so be it, I'll play a Sara. Besides Cora's rejection was delicately handled. Based on that scene I think Cora-Sara has the potential to evolve into a new MShep-Garrus friendship.

Ekhem, I've been playing games for over 20 years and Liara in the trilogy is like the most satisfying for me when it comes to BW. Ash would be the second one if I could stand the voice of mShep or if BW would be so kind to make her bi like they did with Kaidan;) So it's not the world of video games that makes me feel disappointed in some parts but BW when they simply don't listen and repeat the same pattern for years even when they see and know quite long before they reveal anything about romances who people want the most. Garrus was not meant to be a romantic interest, but BW listened their fans and made the right decision even though I'm not into Turians and never romanced him. Same goes with Tali and once again they succeeded thanks to listening. And now? Why listen, we know better, let's lock the best characters up.

Playing Bio games solely for romance and judging whether or not you'll buy them because of it!? ![](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/UhrhlBMIUZqHHpLscwCK.png) You've been doing it wrong to be honest not trying to insult you but that's beyond stupid.

Because even though they DO listen, the writers are still allowed to write the characters they way they want them to be They are fully aware that not everyone is gonna get the choice they want but that shouldn't be a main priority to them when it comes to writing their characters

If you've read my posts you'd know I see romance as an addition. Nice and pretty important, but still an addition that allows me to completely enjoy the entire content. I buy BW games and DLCs even when I know my character will end up alone or I'll be forced to play the way I'm not a fan of to get what I want because I'm a complete sucker for exploration and good story, which BW games have. Doesn't change the fact that I'm allowed to be disappointed when I see they do something over and over again knowing people, incuding me, dislike.

Because even though they DO listen, the writers are still allowed to write the characters they way they want them to be They are fully aware that not everyone is gonna get the choice they want but that shouldn't be a main priority to them when it comes to writing their characters Her writer liked bi-Cora tweets which gave people hope not so long ago. It's the devs that make the ultimate decision since they are the ones who tells the story. Let the Tomb Raider and The Witcher be an example of it. In TR Lara's writer wanted to make Lara a lesbian but devs said no. In The Witcher devs forced Triss into Geralt's bed which for those who read books is disgusting. As much as I don't care about Lara's sexuality, I wad glad Yennefer came back in TW3 since she's canon and already creates a family with Geralt and Ciri. BW listened to the fans 3 times in the past and it always end up as a success so they knew it'd be good to do it this time too instead of repeating the old, standard pattern. And trust me, I'm not asking for much. I'd be 100% satisfied with just one nice choice who'd be a teammate. But it looks I won't get that and even though I'm able to have some fun with Cora as I chose Scott (if I'll be able to stand playing him, I tried many times with mShep and couldn't stand his voice) it'll be hella difficult for me to romance anyone as Sara since Liam turned out to be a pussy and Cora is straight. The only hope left in this matter is Peebee proving not to be another Sera. Otherwise I'll either make Sara alone or maaaaybe will romance her with Suvi, but she's not a teammate. I like Vatra, but I'm not into Turians. Ever since Liara I haven't completely enjoy romances in BW games because the character I was most interested in was locked for a male no matter if it was a guy (Dorian) or a woman (Ashley, Cassandra) so tell me again if I'm not allowed to be tired and disappointed of it already.

You all need some treats Source SourceI'll spoiler the Scott/Cora fan art, in case anyone doesn't want to see that right now (It's worth it for the Scott alone, though ![<3](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/bYmUqWGYNIhNE0GJanhP.png) )

Her writer liked bi-Cora tweets which gave people hope not so long ago. It's the devs that make the ultimate decision since they are the ones who tells the story. Let the Tomb Raider and The Witcher be an example of it. In TR Lara's writer wanted to make Lara a lesbian but devs said no. Which is funny because you can't play Tomb Raider without noticing the clear subtext that Lara and Sam were in a same-sex relationship. Sam's entire role in the game seems pretty much to serve as the damsel in distress that Lara must rescue. There does exist a male character who's interested in Lara, but his crush goes entirely unrequited and ignored for most of the game, before he sacrifices himself to save her life. Personally, I like to think that Rhianna Pratchett got her own back on the devs by simply crossing out any explicit mention that Lara was bi/lesbian, while leaving the romantic dialogue and relationship subtext completely intact. Not saying that she actually did do this, but it would explain a lot.

For those who are disappointed in Cora not being available for Sara, keep this in mind... Alec seems to have been her mentor and the two shared a very close relationship, since she's aware of his quirks and various details about him. While I doubt she'd have acted on it (especially since Alec's a widower), how awkward would it be for Scott to romance her, only to learn she had a slight crush on his dad? And can you blame her if she did? There, that might soften the blow.

You've been doing it wrong to be honest not trying to insult you but that's beyond stupid. I'd hate to see what it's like when you are actually trying to insult someone...

From what I've seen in that romance video so far, Cora seems like she's going to be fun to romance.
