Heh, Liam looks quite the same of his face model, and Scott is looking more and more like his. Don't know if they have problems rendering women. But Cora not being pretty isn't a fact. It's your opinion. I think she's quite attractive, even if her hairstyle isn't my favorite (but I don't think it's as bad as others in the thread). But why can't they give us a female sidekick with feminine features? Instead we get Cass and Cora who look like butch lesbians. The only really attractive women in DAI were Leliana and Morrigan. In Mass Effect both Miranda's and ME3 Ashley's face were kinda off. All I want is something like this: Much as I'd like Summer Glau as a LI as much as anyone, I think it's a bit unreasonable to say any female who doesn't achieve that level of attractiveness as "msaculine" or "butch" Me, I found Cass quite attractive. And while I think Cora's hairstyle is odd, she's certainly not ugly either.

All I want is something like this: It's possiblre you might be able to make your Ryder into something like that if you want but obviously we won't know until the CC is revealed. I'm certainly hoping for at least a couple of shoulder length options for my Ryder to go alongside that ponytail we already have anyway but we won't know until we get a look at the CC. There masy also be other ladies that aren't part of your team too that have a moer feminine look. Fact is we don't know. I do remember seeing during the couple of playthroughs of the FIFA17 journey I've playeda couple of longer haired ladies so it is possible. Whether it's done to an extent in MEA I don't know it's possible but knowing Bioware's past I wouldn't count 100% on it.

I'd like to see some Cora concept art because we've seen from that alpha video that she had a pony tail and her icon (may have been a placeholder?) had longer hair too.

I'd have rather she looked something like this: Not a big fan of man-jaws on female LIs. Sure, there are beautiful women with more prominent jaws, but their other facial features are usually very symetrical, smooth and delicate. Not scrunched up like a Boxer's.

Yea I didn't see anything wrong with her DA2 face. Just because she was a somewhat aged warrior doesn't mean they had to make her more...well the concept art showed what they were trying to do. Dawn of the Seeker Cass also followed this design to a point. Didn't see why they needed to change it. Still had a great romance though and her looks didn't warrant the pitchforks and torches that were raised after her DAI reveal. In my opinion though, Cora looks great. She really stands out especially being our first blond squadmate. They didn't try too hard to make her rough nor did they give her the ME3 Ashley treatment.

Somehow I suspect there would be a lot less accusations of Cora looking "butch" if she had just had longer hair. There would still be people obsessing over her facial features and whether she looks fat (I can't even...) but in my oh-so-humble opinion, we've had more tom-boyish looking followers before e.g. Cass and Ashley, and especially Aveline. By the way, on the subject of ugly hairstyles, I didn't care for Ashley's bun, nor Josephine's later on. I can't help but associate that hairstyle with old cat ladies. I got over it

By the way, on the subject of ugly hairstyles, I didn't care for Ashley's bun, nor Josephine's later on. I can't help but associate that hairstyle with old cat ladies. I got over it Yeah but that's not as much "lol internet" as you might think. Remember how I keep saying certain hair styles suit certain facial features? Behold: Besides bonus points for being a different Quorra (and I did secretly hope this Cora would have at least some similarities, by pure coincidence if nothing else) Olivia Wilde's a great example because she has a more prominent jaw line: As you can see here, the hair (merely pulled back) accentuates that. Now factor in less then perfect mocaping: With the wrong hair style that jawline would far less forgiving when stacked with the other imperfections inherent to recreating her face in a video game and animating it. But here, the hair works in her favor, rather than against it. Miranda (Yvonne Strahovski) is in a similar boat: In real life, these women are gorgeous and since both beauty and femininity are the sum of many parts and then some, they can do all sorts of things with their look and still be damn sexy. But in a game, where you already have so many problems capturing that in an animated model? The last thing you should be doing is giving them a do that doesn't complement their features. If anything I think part of the problem with capturing likeness for games in general is attempting to get it exact. Even if you succeed the natural imperfections in the face will be distorted and made so much worse when compounded with the imperfections of the capture, engine and animation. Devs should probably strive to airbrush and enhance the shit out of them so as to cancel out these compounding errors. Maybe they already do and the tech simply isn't there yet, or there's so many hours/dollars they're willing to spend on this. Only someone in the biz would know for sure. Point is, hair matters in these cases.

And here I though only women were shallow, I guess the rumors were untrue. Joking aside, the whole butch lesbian talk is hilarious because I really doubt you guys know what you are talking about, if Cora was a lesbian she would be a futch maybe. Also why some people talk like that would be a bad thing?
If this was a real person I would be ashamed to even read these things, oh wait she must be base on someone...

It's a shame that the first thing that I thought when I saw Cora was "Oh fuck, here we go again!" And I haven't actually been in this thread since then. And......yeah, here we go again. Why wouldn't Bioware change her looks after "Man-Jaw-Gate 2015"?
That being said, like Cassandra, I think Cora's an attractive lady. But I can see why she's not everyone's cup of tea. They should have just slapped a Sara Ryder-esque ponytail on her to help mitigate her offensively "masculine" "butch" face......

Sounds like you have absolutely no notion of what's involved in a creative process and just want to whine. It's not unreasonable at all to come up with a design for one thing but after further development find that it doesn't fit the bill for that, but could work perfectly for something else. I'm not even just talking about character design here either. Designs get repurposed all the time, usually because the designer really likes that particular design and wants to find a place for it. She's a biotic, second in command, received special training, with a probable connection to Cerberus, and uses a discarded piece of concept art of Miranda for her look. Forgive me if I am not flabbergasted by their originality She reminds me of Cassandra personally, in the sense that she's more positioned for advancement than the protagonist, and yet she's presumably standing back to watch someone else take the reigns. I'll be interested to see if she has the same ultra practical, no nonsense personality on the surface.

I kept watching the parts of the trailer where she was moving and she looks better there than she does in a still or a screenshot.

Accidentally posted an incorrect link before. The face model is Steven Brewis, an underwear model like Sheploo. Here's his Twitter link where you can see what he looks like for yourself. There are also pics in Scott's thread.

Yeah lots of ultra mindless fucking whining. I find it pretty offensive when people who make a negative point of view get taken to task and immediately accuse people of being mindless fan boys or fan girls, like you just did. Some people are fine with the way certain characters if you don't like it gfy and get off your high horse as if any negative comment is useful feedback and any positive comment is mindless gushing.

I didn't get what you mean. If Cora's straight, which seems likely, the hair makes me rather suspect that she'll also be one of the designated "masculine" female characters, which are perpetually gated off from being romanceable by women for reasons inexplicable. Yup, it'll be Cassie all over again. Pity.
