Peebee can't possibly be her real name.

I liked her sassy grin in the E3 footage; little hesitant now she seems quite...Liara like if only from the impression I got from the 4K footage. That being said I totally drew her lopsided smile haha

Mac Walters confirmed in a new skype interview with GI that Peebee is a short form of her full name.

There is some more PeeBee stuff in that interview and it is fairly early into it.

Well that was nice although I doubt she is Sera, there are a lot of concepts that seem the same. I mean Peebee not being at all your typical Asari, her concept overall, clothes, name and so on. Since it is a different writer is probably going to be better, also now I am curious about Vetra and Peebee.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking--sort of like how to equally opposing or in conflict characters get together, like Dorian and Iron Bull in DAI or, to use a more closer analogy, Aria and Nyreen in ME3: Omega.

But yeah, that could be an interesting origin for Vetra--what's also interesting that I don't think Biofan mentions is that the markings look sort of like an inverted version of the Blue Suns symbol. Maybe she got in with a bad crowd and sees working with the Pathfinder as a way out?

So, what are the chances Peebee is Ardat-Yakshi/Pureblood?, or any of the Asaris in the game?
Maybe they check Asaris and those that are Ardat-Yakshi/Pureblood aren't allowed to join the Andromeda Initiative for security reasons?

Why should Pureblood be aborted/quarantined? And there is a broad range of Ardat-yakshi, there was only 3 known in the galaxy that had the lethal version so it is not like it is/was a common problem.

Well there were the Banshees, the Kett or other hostile Andromeda race could potentially do the same to fight us.
I'm sure no one would want to be stuck on the Ark for hundreds of years with thousands of Asaris not knowing which could become Ardat-Yakshi, especially if you're hibernating and one of the maintenance Staff goes berserk lol.

Yeah, that would be extremely draconian and very counter-productive.

The condition that Ardat-Yakshi have seems to be similar to Huntington's Disease in humans, in that it only manifests once the person has already reached maturity. Unlike Huntington's however, it doesn't seem there's any way to test whether someone may develop the condition later in life, as Samara only learned all three of her children had developed the condition once they were young adults.

The lack of any foolproof test is further is reinforced by how Samara comments the choice to seclude themselves in a monastery shows the Ardat-Yakshi wishes to overcome the addictive high of killing, suggesting that the condition can only  be identified after their first fatal melding occurs.

Without any testing methods to determine the condition save for melding, forcing Asari purebloods to remain in permanent quarantine on the off-chance they might  be Ardat-Yakshi, would be cruel and unusual punishment, as well as a colossal waste of time for everyone involved.

We're told that having two Asari parents only increases the incredible rare chance that an Ardat-Yakshi can be born. For all we know, it might be entirely possible for an Ardat-Yakshi to be born to an Asari/Non-Asari couple, but melding with another species manages to reduce the odds to an infinitesimal chance of actually occurring.

We should remember that before they discovered aliens to procreate with, all Asari were "Pureblood" and they still managed to become a thriving civilisation that wasn't swarming with deadly sex-vampires. Unless the Asari were regularly having to purge the Ardat-Yakshi population every couple decades, this probably suggests that the phenomena was already incredibly rare even back then.

Please tell me her name isn't actually 'Peebee.'
