It's a little weird, because I don't think we've seen asari with a last name that starts with a "B." I forget, have they said it's an abbreviation of her real name, or could it be the abbreviation for something else?

That said, I know that when I first play, if we get a chance to ask about the nickname, I'm investigating that option faster than I asked about the Quib-Quib.

If she marries Scott or Sara, will she claim it's short for Professional Bull Ryder?

True, but there are a number of asari whom we never learned their last name (such as Samara or Councilor Tevos)  So there's really no reason an asari surname couldn't start with a B

My guess is she's going to turn out to a have a full name that she finds really embarrassing.

Either that or she's related to someone VERY big in the asari and she has the nickname to try to get away from that.

Mac Walters only said it is based off her real name. Her initials is a good guess, but it could be something else like a surnames that start with P'B.... (similar to T'Soni, T'Loak, etc).

She certainly seems expressive. I'm hoping she'll be a less judgemental/ bratty Sera sort of character. Someone impulsive but good hearted, intelligent yet eclectic, bad with diplomacy and basic social skills though she loves people.

Right, maybe she's a lone wolf less because "I don't like to be around other people" but more "how do I interact around other people?"

Ah, it must be because she 'defies the Asari trope.'

That said, the Asari 'serious and refined' trope was never my favorite part of Mass Effect. I could do without it.

I don't say the same about the Dalish because... well, the Dalish encapsulated the trope so well, they were a critique unto themselves, even in Origins, playing part of this whole-foods, tribal, hippyesque, Tolkeinesque purity, not to mention that AS A RACE they were an important role in the Thedas lore from the get go.

On the other hand, we didn't really deal with the Asari on that level until later on in Mass Effect 3. We initially dealt with the Asari individually, instead of exploring Illium, shaking their hands on their ground, and stuff like that in ME1. And as we later found out, the comically stereotypical hippy-esque, better-than-thou, barefoot-and-tribal aspects of the Dalish turned out to be intentional, not just a trope: they were ignorant of the real Elvehn lurking behind the Solas plot, a race whose antics and mannerisms were purposely set up to be contradicted and completely uprooted in the revelation of their true origin.

We got that taste a little bit with the revelation of the Protheans interfering in Asari progress in the past but it was only briefly explored in one mission in ME3, and I don't think they followed that thread as deeply as they could have. The whole Javik DLC could've been extended into a whole expansion exploring Liara and her species coming to terms with their entire race being contradicted and flipped upside down. But of course, they didn't have time to explore all that, with the reapers at their doorstep.

Anyways, I guess what I'm trying to say is.... I felt like Sera's "challenge to the Elvish trope" was uncalled for, and kind of spit in the face of, disrespectfully, a trope which had a role and a purpose in Thedas lore. Whereas Peebee might do it ore successfully because the Asari trope wasn't so important in the grand scheme of things.

So, since she isn't "like other asaris" could it mean she can be only lesbian?
Yeah Asari can reproduce with anyone but that doesn't mean they feel attracted for example, to hanars.
Since she gives a shit about culture maybe she only cares about what she likes and not what she should like.

That and the fact that it was said her relation ship Vetra will blossom, and not in a hostile way.

I think the language barrier was an issue with Sera--in interviews they gave after everything was finished with Inquisition, they talked about how it was hellish to try to translate Sera's dialogue in particular for other countries.

But that's far from the only thing. Even those who do know english don't bother with her because she appears "randumb," never try to get a deeper look at the character. And then she's anti-mage to boot--and when the fandom is predominantly pro-mage, unless you're a hunky dreamboat like Fenris or apparently Cullen, you're not going to be very well liked by many fans.

And the preferences happened in Dragon Age Origins first, with Leliana, if you are a girl she is the one that starts flirting with you, and you have like 10 oportunities to romance her, while if you are a male you have to choose the right answers or no romance for you, no matter what you do.
