Peebee (Official Thread)

I get that, but it's a character trait that clearly manifests in a different way, under different circumstances and for different reasons, so to call Peebee Sera 2.0 seems like facile reductionist nonsense to me.

Oh I don't agree with everyone who claims that Peebee and Sera are exactly the same.

I personally don't mind Peebee so far, though I can't wait to give her a stern talk about the escape pod thing.

Destroying the Alpha relay was unfortunate, but necessary. Without it, the Reapers would have arrived much sooner. Even in ME 3 the galaxy wasn't prepared. Imagine if they had arrived even earlier.

As for ignoring the council. They were idiots most of the time who ignored Shepard's evidence. So ofcourse Shepard had to do something without their consent. Heck he didn't even really need their consent since he is a Spectre.

They even say that themselves.

Peebee's action has abolutely nothing in common with what Shepard has done.

She knows fully well that Kallo said he couldn't land on that planet, but still lures Ryder into an escape pod and goes anyway. Afterwards we hear that Kallo can't extract us. And all she says is "Oops sorry, my bad!"

She doesn't think about the consequences of her actions during that moment. And the only reason she has to get down there is because of a personal thing.

That's why the Shepard comparison doesn't work. And its why I can understand why alot of people aren't happy with Peebee during that mission.

That's what we call an "opinion"! It wouldn't have mattered when the Reapers arrived. As you pointed out, the galaxy wasn't ready anyway. In other words, Shepard killed 300,000 batarians for no good reason. He had a choice and he decided to commit genocide! I don't see how that's anything worse than anything Sera did or Peebee will do!

Shepard had no evidence! Feel free to replay through ME1 if you don't believe me. All he had were "visions" and he made baseless claims against Saren for most of the game! Is it really that hard to believe the Council, which is responsible for the well-being of the entire galaxy, wouldn't mobilize or make hasty actions based on the words of one person having "visions"? Even a Spectre is beholden to the will of the Council! Why do you think Saren had his Spectre status revoked? You can't just do anything!

I agree. Peebee didn't slaughter innocent people!

Just because you may not agree with Peebee's methods does not make them wrong! Considering Remnant technology is involved, it's likely the Pathfinder crew would have had to go down to the surface anyway. Peebee merely expedited the process!

Considering we didn't see the entirety of the loyalty mission, you seem to make a lot of assumptions and inferences! We don't know what's going on in that loyalty mission! What you perceive as careless may be far more justified than you know!

The Shepard comparison doesn't work because the player is "Shepard." Why would you criticize yourself? You wouldn't, unless you are a masochist of some kind! It's far too early and we don't know enough about Peebee to have an informed opinion one way or the other! There is no valid or credible reason to "hate" or "dislike" someone you've never even met!

This makes me so tilted and salty...

This is the info we got from her writer on why she came to Andromeda. It would seem at least she didn't come to leave any negative/sad event/situation behind her.

@thaty_Andrade Some came to Andromeda focused on the ills they left behind, or fixated on the current troubles. Peebee is not one of them.

Meh, this stuff doesn't bother me. The only opinion I care about is my own. I'll reserve judgement, wait to meet her first. I can think for myself.

I don't call BS on her being an adventurer. People are weird. I hate flying, often refusing paid corporate trips as I freak out at being in the sky, but I'd give anything for a one way trip to Mars.

Ah yes... hyperbole. It's become so trendy. Saves a lot of cognitive legwork. Allows people to make points without having to be specific, and gives lots of wiggle room for backpedaling if they get called on them. Also, a handy shortcut for humor these days. Wanna be funny? Exaggerate wildly! It's hilarious!

It's 2017 and facts... figures, statistics, none of that matters any more.

Yeah, especially since there's an implication that her past relationship is hard to talk about for her, enough that she needs a few drinks. I think she probably has some angst, at the very least, just not on the level of some of the other characters.
