I figured the game already assumes Ryder has tech knowledge regardless of abilities. Can't imagine Alec Ryder not passing on some tech expertise. He probably disowned Ryder before the trip... I still can't get over that, man. With Peebee being a lone wolf, I wonder if she has her own similar parental issues. We don't have any info on her family background, and her writer implied we have to do some digging to find out about one of her parents. It could just be a Liara-esque "she has no idea who her father is so let's find out," but I feel like they gotta try something new. |

From the information we have, Pelessaria seems to be Sera 2.0 - Despite that fact that Sera is essentially a marmite character. First off, she mentions that "Kallo won't land" instead of "Kallo can't land". If Kallo will not land (not cannot land), all PeeBee has to do is to ask Ryder, who is the Pathfinder and the commanding officer, to order Kallo to find a place to land. Later, PeeBee commits mutiny by wasting an essential item - An escape pod and by abducting the commanding officer and a colleague against their will. Last time I checked, mutiny is an offence that carries severe punishment - Regardless of where you commit it, be it in the military or a private enterprise. Moreover, we see that it is indeed possible to land on the lava planet because Kalinda does so (here is another instance where the Hammerhead or even the Kodiak is superior to the Nomad). Talk about being reckless, stupid and poor decision making. I hope we have the option of not recruiting her or to court-martial her or to even exile her or throw her out of the airlock from the Tempest for her reckless behavior.

In fairness, the Tempest is a lot larger than a shuttle and the surface is volcanically active, hence Kallo's severe misgivings about locating a safe place on the surface with which they could potentially land.
Not that the decision to launch an escape pod towards the planet was particularly clever either, since it could easily have landed in lava... and we even do see it briefly skim over some as it comes down. Does explain why the devs characterised Peebee as being reckless and impulsive.
It doesn't really constitute as mutiny though, since she doesn't engage in sedition, try to incite rebellion or attempt to overthrow Ryder's command of the ship. At most she's guilty of gross misconduct, as well as theft and destruction of military equipment.
Do agree that she probably should be punished and/or yelled at when they return to the Tempest (although I still like her character).

Your sentence makes no sense whatsoever. Kids these days apparently cannot comprehend simple concepts like legible sentences. I clearly outlined the reasons for why PeeBee is a bad character (her impulsive nature, her incapability of making sensible choices, her recklessness, her mutiny, etc) and deserved to not be recruited and if recruited, be granted the option to be thrown out of the airlock. |

I don't have a problem with people not liking her, and not wanting her in their squad. That's fair enough if you can't handle her insubordination and putting people in danger. She is however nothing like Sera when you examine why and when her impulsive nature manifests. She's an inquisitive explorer which is the diametric opposite of Sera, and she doesn't appear to have anything like Sera's past and personal motivations. Calling her Sera 2.0 is a very superficial assessment of her as a character.
