You seriously think we won't have eye color options in the CC? If it's about default Scott, it's another matter, but we never had that option anyway. There are other rpgs which restrict backgrounds as well, not just Bioware.

If it's about default Scott, it's another matter, but we never had that option anyway. There are other rpgs which restrict backgrounds as well, not just Bioware. Sorry, I wasn't serious. I am only disappointed with all the restrictions, so I would not be surprised if the character editor disappoints me as well. Surely only Sara has shoulder-length hairstyles and the possibility to wear eyeliner... Yes, I think men can wear eyeliner too , but anyways... I no longer think that bioware will give male characters the opportunity for long hair and eyeliner. But you may be lucky with the eye color. I think they'll allow to change it.

If it was more accepted in society, maybe they would allow such a thing but I don't want to get my hopes up. It seems very unlikely in a Mass Effect game. I still remember the awful character editor of the trilogy. : (

I wanted to play as a scientific shy and cute nerd, but as it seems this isn't possible, because science background is restricted to Sara. I think it's better I expect the worst for the character editor as well... just to not be disappointed again.

Just because she's stationed at a Prothean site doesn't mean she has a science background. To be honest, a tweet said we'll get to pick their backgrounds. The AI videos also call them "Scott and Sarah Ryder". We know that can change. There's no reason to think that you can't flip which background goes with which sibling. You're probably right about the feminine hairstyles for BroRyder.

Can't you basically choose Ryder's personality in the way you communicate via the discussion wheels at the bottom of screen? I know Paragon/Renegade isn't a system implemented this time around, but in fact is more complex and diverse? I think, @liarashepard regardless of character background chosen for Ryder (if there is no background that suits your tastes in a shy scientific broRyder) you can basically have him respond in such a way with that discussion wheel? No? Yes? Huhwut? ON ANUDDER NOTE, LOOK AT THIS EYE-EFFIN-CANDY!!! LOOOK AT HIMMMM LOOK. If a Sheploo rendition fails, this is easily my plan B. Bioware can sure make some a-ok male protagonist defaults. /fanbroing over

Well, I can see where you're coming from...could we agree on green being a good color? Green is good. I like green eyes. Rarely see them and that just makes them all the more special when you do encounter them. Funny you bring that up because I was trying to see if I could give a default face Shepard green eyes. Now that I think about, green eyes are rare. That's probably why I find the color interesting.

Yeah, I think people are taking this whole "set personality" thing REALLY out of proportion. You're going to have at least a couple of different backgrounds to choose from, and a bunch of different personalities and characters you can portray either Ryder. That's just fact, and it just sounds like some of you are just looking for reasons to complain and/or feel superior over the company.

That's just fact, and it just sounds like some of you are just looking for reasons to complain and/or feel superior over the company. I've noticed that myself. It's like complaining to complain when we don't have all the details. The AI briefing stated their names were Scott and Sara and that they had these specific backgrounds. We know the names aren't mandatory so why assume the other aspects are? BioWare is just trying to give us an example briefing but they need to offer some kind of detail (even if it can be altered) or else it doesn't work.

Nope, they did clarify the Arcturus and Prothean archives backgrounds are set in stone. But both seems to be soldiers missions. So while the PA one might be more interesting to some, it's not really a scientific background. That might come up with the training choice.

Yeah, if you're a guard at a Prothean Archive, that doesn't make you a scientist. Similarly, Scott won't be a mass relay expert because of where he was stationed. All we do know is that they received informal N7 training from their father prior to entering the Alliance Military. That means they can probably kick some serious ass.

Maybe they aren't expertes, but I still think it's their main area of interests. I suspect that Sara, by working with the scientists, knows more about science than Scott. And since she likes the work with such persons, I suspect that she also deals more with scientific topics, while Scott probably has little to do with it. We do not know one hundred percent how the two will be different, but I think their background profile and the Voice Actor videos are a good reference. My guess is that Sara is smarter, tougher, and more extravert than Scott. Scott, on the other hand, is more diplomatic and quieter. And yes, both seem to have humor. I still think that there are also differences in the way they express it. But that is, as I said, only my strong guess.

I still don't understand why on earth you think the VA Video is relevant, but fair enough. You should probably expect to meet Scott's children too.

ON ANUDDER NOTE, LOOK AT THIS EYE-EFFIN-CANDY!!! LOOOK AT HIMMMM LOOK. If a Sheploo rendition fails, this is easily my plan B. Bioware can sure make some a-ok male protagonist defaults. /fanbroing over In this particular scene he looks good, yes. But in many other scenes in the trailer I do not like his appearance at all (especially his hair which looks like plastic, and his mouth and facial structurs). If he always looked like the person on the picture, I would have no hesitation, but that is unfortunately not the case. I'm stll sceptical about the male characters appereance.
