I don't want to be negative but I didn't like the writing in the Sloane Kelly meeting scene in the gameplay video. I know they cut out anything that would give away the context, but just those 3 seconds seemed inexcusable to me. Is it just me, or does it feel like the scene is cut when the choice is made? They choose "Let's cut to the chase" and then Ryder says "Just tell me where he is and there won't be any trouble" or something. Dunno why but I think between choosing that and Ryder's speech there's more dialogue... But putting that aside yeah, the exchange was kinda weak.

Anyone else think Sara seems more cocky? Or maybe a bit snarky? I wonder if Scott will behave similarly during this scene. I mean the dialogue choices will be the same, but perhaps they're reactions will be different? BIOWARE has said that Scott & Sara will behave differently (unlike Shepard who was basically the same person, just a different gender) during some situations. Maybe Sarah will be more... gung-ho and sassy? And Scott will be more thoughtful? Just to give the two a different flavour. I wouldn't say cocky sarcastic maybe using a bit of humour to the situation a bit like what Hawke does sometimes in DA2 I'd say. Like when Hawke and Varric walk up to Sebastian and Elthina talking about Flint company in this scene. But that's the kind of humour I like most about Hawke and I kind of get that vibe from Sara in that scene as well. Especially as in that scene where she says "a hot head great" she asys it in such a way as if to indicate in a humourous way to say" that's all I bleeping need" So if that is how her personality is then I think I'm going to like playing her. Or in Act 3 when taking on Huon a rogue mage Meredith was after Hawke says I'd like to go 1 week without meeting an insane mage just 1 week. It's moments like that that make me keep coming back to DA2 because the humour in the game is top notch even if the story itself could have used more work.

Why are you perturbed about something that you know was modified to show? Until they actually sit down and show full scenes and gameplay, it's hard to really say whether something sucks or not.

While playing ME3 again, I have to wonder what the Mass Effect team's fascination with the name Sarah is about. Ashley has a sister named Sarah that she talks about much more than the others and eventually is the only one ever seen in person. There is a minor character named Sara talking to Rupe Elkoss on the Citadel in ME3. And now we have the female Ryder. Then in Dragon Age Inquisition we have a companion named Sera. I think it is the most used name in Bioware games.

All the Sara's are fairly young. Makes a bit of sense.

Which type would you have liked to see? I was hoping to be able to have a character with a lithe build, but if what Sarah has is our only option then that won't be happening. To be fair, a lithe body doesn't make sense with all the military and multiple environment exploration training the twins have. "But the mass effect hardsuits make us stronger and faster" you say? Personally, I think a good hero should multi-talented and adaptable, and not overly reliant upon technology that could fail. Especially if the writers ever want to revisit the Dark Energy plot ...

Our definitions of lithe must be different. I thought it meant felixible and graceful, or athletic and definitely slim. I can see a soldier having those physical attributes.

I was always under the impression that it was to be as thin as humanly possible and still be healthy. To me, the default Ryders are skinny in contrast to traditional heroic builds. Too many superhero comics maybe ? Ah well, the more you know .
I agree a body slider would have been nice. That, or multiple body options like in SWTOR. Yes, even the fat ones .

BIOWARE has said that Scott & Sara will behave differently (unlike Shepard who was basically the same person, just a different gender) during some situations. Maybe Sarah will be more... gung-ho and sassy? And Scott will be more thoughtful? Just to give the two a different flavour. The devs have said that they want Sara and Scott to have different personalities. And have also mentioned that some scenarios are really different for each of them. It would be cool if it was like that. Would encourage me to play Scott.... which I never do

However, this time I'll probably try alternating every NG+.

She might not be like that though... What I liked was not her personality in the video (well, that too, because I thought both of them were very funy and cute ), but mostly that I can picture her delivering very well funny lines. She might work well too with other tones... I know you're not very optimistic with the different personalities, and I'm a little bit worried about it myself, but it might be ok (or not that bad), we really don't know much yet

But I agree I think I'm going to enjoy playing Sara a lot too. I've always enjoyed a bit of sarcastic humour and it's one of the reasons why I like playing DA2 a lot too even though it has a weak story as I just love Hawke's and Varric's sense of humour in that game. Most of my favourite comedies on TV like Only fools and Horses have a lot of that kind of humour as well.

I don't have a military background myself (I kept it as a mere hobby with my choice a few years back when I joined college - and before you start thinking I'm one of THOSE people, the military wouldn't accept me and college did, so I think opposite to what many people do) but I can't see the problem with lithe-built soldiers, either.
