BansheeOwnage By human hat I meant something like a beanie, you know like those animal beanie hats. You know, I hope that both Ryder's can get a stylish leather jacket (pretty bummed that femshep got that bad dress instead), and that the overall fashion of humans and aliens is actually fashionable. yeah would be nice to have a wardrobe in our cabin with a few casual outfits in took a while for one to be added to DAI but eventually they did. Although it would be nice to have a couple of lady type outfits for Sara to wear like a dress it does need to be done better than Shepards dress was.

Ah, okay I totally agree! In fact, I just bought this for myself as a Christmas present: I like it a lot. It is rather unfortunate that female Shepard got that dumb dress instead of that. Lukcily, modders fixed that for PC players, but not everyone's a PC player, including me. BansheeOwnage By human hat I meant something like a beanie, you know like those animal beanie hats. Personally, I have almost no interest in dresses, and I'd be bummed if, once again, we couldn't use something cool that the male character had access to in favour of one. A better one than Shepard had might be okay, but I think I'd still rather something else. Maybe they can just do it Fallout style and have all outfits available for male and female characters Edit: Fixed a link in previous post about hair.

Well, that wouldn't normally be a bad assumption... Things are supposed to improve over time after all, or at least remain stagnant in quality. But DA:I had worse hair than its predecessors, so anything's possible at this point. well Sara and Scott's default hair definitely look better than what we got in DAI so that's what I was getting at in that it appears they've done at least some work to improve this. But I do agree with you. You're totally right, I'm just trying not to get my hopes up too much

There is an opinion that Sara is the more agressive one of the siblings. How it really is? They confirmed it somehow or it based only on theit looks. I'm wondering how will it look in game, because if we are playing as FemRyder we should choose how she is going to be. Most of my characters are goody and calm.

Anyway I wouldn't say ones any more aggresive than the other just yet. I think Sara's got a bit of a sense of humour perhaps but atm that's as far as I'd go but we haven't seen how Scott handled that hothead scene yet have we? We will eventually we just haven't yet

(They have worked together in other projects before Andromeda so they're obviously comfortable with each other.)

I think that stems from a Dev tweet mentioning that the Player Ryder will be fairly different depending on the chosen sex. Thing is that Fryda Wolff (the Actress for FemRyder) has mentioned that that's just how she is, and doesn't exactly reflect on how Sara Ryder will act as the Player Character or as an NPC (I believe this was mentioned by her on twitter and in a podcast interview she did).

As long as there's one outfit I like, I'll survive (the undersuit would be adequate, and the one Kirky showed looks good from the back). But I'd like to like more than one for different moods/playthroughs/events ingame It's just that since it's unlikely I'll play as Scott I don't want to lose out on a nice outfit. There is an opinion that Sara is the more agressive one of the siblings. How it really is? They confirmed it somehow or it based only on theit looks. Does anyone know if they did any of the recording together, in the same booth? I find that always makes the end result better. But yeah, people are getting their impressions of both Ryders from that video as well as Sara's comments in the gameplay one. We'll just have to see how it plays out, but I'd like to see whatever bio they'll have in the CC before launch to plan and mentally prepare. I mean, I'm assuming they'll have a bio... Seems like important info to know before playing.

I don't know anything about that game though. (And my bad, I shouldn't have used the plural form of projects. I thought there was more, but looks like that may be all.) Edit: Adding in Fryda's tweet referencing Octodad:

Could be--it would fit the style, as you say. The way it looks so plain and 'Andromeda Initiative-y' could also hint at it instead being this game's equivalent of the basic Alliance/Cerberus casual wear, so I dunno. Honestly, my suspicion is that we haven't seen the Pathfinder outfit yet, though that's really not based on anything concrete. And yeah, they talked about our being able to use the undersuit as a casual outfit in some of the really early video stuff--it was cool to see Sara finally follow though on the idea in the trailer. I'm hoping we'll be able to customise the colour and such, at the very least--even if only in the sense that it always matches our current armour paint-scheme. Being able to leave some of the armour bits attached while just wearing it about would be good, too, and it'd fit with the way they described the armour customisation as being based on snap-on pieces. I never did anything fun with Gibbed, sadly--I think the only thing I ever used it for was fixing my imported Shepard's eye-colour in ME2, and some weird skin import bugs in 3.Yeah, the undersuit matching your current armour colour would be ideal. Otherwise, what, Ryder has another undersuit specifically for walking around in? Might as well wear something else entirely. On that note, I hope the colour system is at least as good as ME3. Making the primary black and highlight basically any colour made the armour look like a shiny sports car, but also not too fancy or flashy for a soldier. It was great! And more options would be good, of course (like art as you suggested in that old thread ). My main use of gibbed, besides fixing a few import bugs, was obtaining the hoodie I love so very much That's why I hate exclusive content. I'd have payed for that and the other Collector's edition stuff separately, but I couldn't, so gibbed it was. I also messed around with plenty of other things, like Illusive Man eyes (in any colours): Discovering that the game had an unused highlight colour system for hair as well as a colour wheel (that should totally be in Andromeda ): This irked me because if we can use purple hair in the vanilla game, why not any other unnatural colour, like this maroon? But it can also make some nice natural shades you can't otherwise make, like this slightly lighter brown which matches her eyes (I know I mentioned this somewhere, so sorry if you already saw): I also messed with the ending quite a bit in terms of Shepard's appearance. I had her wear full armour for the purpose of a video I never made, to symbolize her confidence that's usually lacking in the actual ending. And to make a short video about the symbology of the 3 choices (which is totally unbiased )
In which I also discovered something insignificant I found cool: the helmet voice-effect in ME is actually applied dynamically whether you have a helmet or not - it doesn't use a different already-modified line. So even the ending, where you can't normally have a helmet, can have that effect. Aaaanyway, enough off-topic I suspect thatthe hasirstyles in MEA are better but we'll only know in time I think. Well, that wouldn't normally be a bad assumption... Things are supposed to improve over time after all, or at least remain stagnant in quality. But DA:I had worse hair than its predecessors, so anything's possible at this point. Yeah pretty much all the hairstyles in Inquisition seemed more appropriate for a dude Inquisitor, I actually missed some of the hairstyles that the ladies had from DA 2 and Origins. Yup. The numbers are pretty sad. Rant incoming Edit: Crap. I somehow made a spoiler that ate my other reply below, too. Fixed a link. Just in case anyone needed reminding, here are all the "styles" in Inquisition. There are 28 of them. 13 are bald or nearly bald. 10 either have male-pattern-baldness, sideburns, or both. That's 10 out of 28 that can instantly be considered masculine and not feminine, despite supposedly having gender-neutral options. 4 of the remaining ones have sideburns or facial hair. That doesn't give much room for anything generally considered "feminine". Not that male characters have much variety either, of course. In addition, they couldn't think that maybe, just maybe, they should have things like sideburns in the Facial Hair section, something that already exists, and keep it off hairstyles. That we don't have to groan at our Lady Inquisitors having them (or lowering the number of usable options even further), and our Lord Inquisitors can choose whether to have them, instead of being forced to with some styles and forced not to with others. Dumb. And none of that even addresses the quality of the styles! I'll leave that out since it's subjective, but I only like two styles and refuse to use one because sideburns. If I'm being generous, there are about 7 styles I'd consider "feminine", and I'm not only talking about long hair here. That's a quarter of the options when logically it should be half. Which is half of a half and therefore half of what it ought to be DA2 brought back all (or nearly all) of DA:O's styles, then added more. This is exactly what every series needs to do. And yes, they ported some over to the new Frostbite engine, along with other assets, so it's possible. If ME:A ported over all of DA:I's hair (which is on the same engine), they could spend the extra time they just saved making a bunch of new, good hairs, and end up with a large variety and (if done right) decent quality. The whole hair thing was not an attempt to be progressive by any stretch. It was just laziness. They should have focused on styles for each gender then, after that, made them available to both, because Options Are Good™. It's pretty clear that the only reason they did it the way they did was because they realized they had so few styles by the time the game was wrapping up, so they made them "gender-neutral" as a way to appear as though they had variety, and appear "progressive". I'm totally in favour of making each style available to everyone, but not how they did it, because it was at the expense of variety, especially for female characters (shocking!). So I hope ME:A has all options for Scott and Sara, but done better. The other problem with this laziness is that it affects all of the NPCs (who aren't lucky main characters and have their own styles) and makes a world of NPCs who look not only similar (even more than most RPGs) but also extremely different from anything established in the previous games in terms of looks. Yes, that's right: In addition to lack of good hair being annoying for my character, it's effectively a retcon While I'm somewhat joking, the consistency of art-style in a franchise is not something to overlook. Anyway, that's probably enough from me for a while This one is stylish as fuck, human. What a BIG, STOOPID... Hat And by "human hat", do we mean like a baseball cap, beanie, or top-hat? ...Or a human human hat? I'm gonna try breaking everything out into separate quotes, 'cause as we both know from that old thread, these chains can get a little unwieldy past a certain point! Yup, as we've discussed, I have rather... Out there hopes for the armour customisation system, which I'd understand BioWare ultimately not fulfilling, but it'd be a massive bummer for Andromeda's armour system to not offer colour customisation at least as good as ME2/3's. I've been thinking about it lately, and those two games are still my gold-standard for armour customisation, in spite of the unfortunate preponderance of boob armour. The only games that beat them are those with dedicated clothing - not armour - systems, like Saint's Row, GTA V and The Sims. Ah, I had the CE, so I never had to fiddle with it for that stuff. I had no idea they'd never offered the hoodie separately! It's the most iconic bit of casual wear in that game; I guess I kinda assumed they'd put it out for everyone at some point. I didn't know about the highlight system either! Huh, if that was hidden in ME3, then I seriously hope they plan to surface something like it for Andromeda--as I discussed up-thread, the character I'm planning to model my Ryder after - who also got a lot of play in that Armour Art thread, now that I think about it - has very distinctive hair, and I'll need a highlight system and colour wheel if I'm to have any hope of approximating it! (I'm also thinking of mixing up my usual no-frills Vanguard playstyle for something with a few more gadgets, to better approximate all those Mandalorian tricks. )I think we've talked about this before, but just in case: yup. Even if I did find one option that was pretty much a perfect fit for my Inquisitor, DA: I's hair system, particularly for female characters, was generally speaking utter garbage, for all the reasons you cite. And I kinda pictured the human hat as like a Futurama Brain Slug, just shaped like a human head. ... I need to get me one of those N7 jackets. Have they? That's cool. Does anyone know if they did any of the recording together, in the same booth? I find that always makes the end result better. They worked on Octodad: Dadliest Catch. I don't know anything about that game though. (And my bad, I shouldn't have used the plural form of projects. I thought there was more, but looks like that may be all.) Edit: Adding in Fryda's tweet referencing Octodad: I love the story of how they found out they were both the protagonist of Mass Effect: Andromeda, before the devs told either of them who was playing the other sibling. Basically, they were chatting over the phone, talking about the gigs they'd gotten since Octodad, and Mass Effect came up. To paraphrase the conversation (at least partially incorrectly, since this is from memory): 'So, I'm voicing a character in the new Mass Effect.' 'Oh wow, I'm playing the protagonist of that game!' 'Wait, no, I'm playing the protagonist of that game.' '...' *dawning realisation* *excited squealing* They ended up coming up with code words so they could talk about the game together in public without fear of generating one of those, 'So, I was in this cafe and overheard this.' stories on the Internet. *spends ages trawling for tweets; fails completely* ... Okay, you'll have to take my word on it.

Anyone who follows the Twitter thread will have seen this by now, but still, the first bit of proper Sara merch probably deserves a mention in her character thread. I'm... Yah, not keen. I've just never liked Funko Pops, is all. Still, I'm glad it's out there for those who do like them, and it definitely made Fryda happy, so that's good Fryda Wolff @frydawolff AM A BOBBOHEED?! AM A BOBBOHEED. OMIGUH. Now, if we could just get confirmation that Sara's getting a McFarlane figure too...

Well that's wha tyou get when you participate in games like this I guess.

We get a brief description of Sara (and Scott) in the latest briefing. The twins are Alliance military, and Sara was assigned to support Prothean researchers.

They said that the CES doesn't count since it was so short, but we'll be getting more Sara.

Oooh I love the more techy side to this than just soldier. I get she was probably mostly security detail but my Sara is gonna be such a nerd I know right!? I've been something of a broken record in saying that I want to play a really smart protagonist for once, and with Sara's background being around Prothean dig sites, and having both parents be scientists it seems she will be. And yeah, I'm gonna make her as big a nerd as possible. I want my character to geek out over stuff as much as I am while playing her. (Whenever Shepard was talking to some scientist or engineer in the game and being all 'I don't follow' I was like ' I follow! Tell me moar!!' )

She absolutely freaks when she meets the Angarians, she wants to know everything. Makes a fool of herself with her eagerness but Angarian Squaddie (please bioware) thinks it's endearing. New OTP is born. I can dream.
