chose to save krogan instead of salarian pathfinder and I have no idea if it was the right choice. I'd love to load the prev save, but the game bugged on me and I'd need to repead the entire quest starting from finding the ship so I guess I'll go with this choice right now and chose differently next time and then judge which one is the right one for me. Good thing I'm going to romance PB again, during 5th playthrough, after a couple of patches will come out.

If he hadn't been in my group, I likely would have chosen the Pathfinder. But I didn't and didn't go on to regret it. In fact, I felt better about it later on because I genuinely do love the krogans. And I saw some interesting arguments in other threads like leaving those krogans behind would have allowed them to be experimented on/exalted and the kett would have had access to krogan genes, etc. It was just theorycrafting, not actual consequences in the game, but the logic was sound.

But anyway, either choice should be fine. It's a very personal one so I get ya. There are a few choices I was not happy with after-the-fact, too.

Even if I didn't have Drack in my squad, I would have chosen to save the Krogan Scouts.

We'd only seconds earlier fought the Behemoth, so it would be extremely dangerous for all of Heleus if we left the Krogan behind to be experimented on and allow the Archon to continue trying to create exalted Krogan super-soldiers to fill his ranks.

Another consideration is that the Krogan have far less numbers than any race in Andromeda and the Genophage is still afflicting them (even with their mutation and gene therapy to raise conception odds), so they need as many of them alive as possible.

Political relations with the Krogan have been extremely strained due to awful leadership from the Nexus that burned a lot of bridges. The Krogan are sick of everyone treating them like they're disposable muscle, to be used and discarded when they're no longer needed. That's why Drack takes it so badly if Ryder decides to save Raeka and the Salarian team, because it seemed like they were planning to rescue the scouts until someone "more important" came along, that meant the Krogan didn't matter.

While Raeka is more definitely an awesome character, a highly respected leader and did help Ryder's team out during the mission, she did place herself and her team in danger by following them on the Kett ship rather than hang back at the Ark like Ryder initially suggested. That being said, her presence on the Kett ship likely did contribute to the success of the mission, so we cannot fault her because we might have failed otherwise.

But she did further place herself in danger by going back again to rescue only a few stragglers, despite both her and Ryder's team having already secured the Ark's escape and the thousands of Salarian colonists on board. It was brave of her to attempt to rescue everyone and not try to leave anyone behind, but her rescue mission didn't pan out. Her final transmission to Ryder suggests that she's made her peace with not getting out of that situation and wishes Ryder well before signing off.

Ryder does make an attempt to contact her after rescuing the Scouts, clearly hoping that it might be possible that she'd survived long enough for them to attempt to rescue her as well. Unfortunately they receive nothing over the comm, suggesting that she's either been killed or captured.
