May I ask what is the name of this armor? Sara is wearing Pathfinder armor, probably a higher level and with a camo pattern.

Ah. I read that a higher level of the armor leaves off the "N7" markings, but I hadn't seen a picture of what it looked like until now.

She did that once. I think they let her work more than a little. She was excited with Prothean's artifacts, she held them herself. Her brother on the other hand... is a soldier and has an experience on the field. Sara and Scott were both Alliance military. Scott sat in an outpost and watched a relay, so while it counts as a necessary and likely important job, he has no more field seasoning than his sister.

Scott joined the Systems Alliance military and was assigned to an outpost near Arcturus Station overseeing Relay 202.
A primary route to Arcturus, this mass relay leads into contested space and has an unsavory reputation. Scott was needed to protect Arcturus, but also had "a front row seat to everyone else going off to fortune and glory."Sara joined the Systems Alliance military, which was continuing its search for Prothean technology after successful discoveries on Mars. Initially assigned to peacekeeping duties.Sara was approached to serve a support role for these Prothean researchers. She often describes the thrill of serving with scientists like Mateus Silva on the brink of the next great discovery. She was more like one of those researchers while he was a real soldier who experienced fight.

You seem invested in the idea that your Sara is inexperienced and not as capable as her brother. That's fine for you, but it's not reality in the game universe. They both joined the military. This means they both received basic training, which means both of them were physically and mentally (and cybernetically) prepared to be soldiers in the field. They ended up assigned to different posts, and experienced different things in their duties, but they still, at the start of it, are newly minted Alliance soldiers before things happen with Alec and they all end up in Andromeda. It's perfectly fine to play them as you see fit, but it's not an absolute truth against the written canon.

Heck, both Ryders were even trained by Alec in light N7 standards. But training is one thing, experience is different Scott's is for sure bigger than Sara's because of having a job that needed him using a gun quite often.

I have played through the game with both twins, and found the voice acting was well done for both. I feel Scott suits the more emotional and sarcastic dialog better, and Sara's dialog is better with the professional and logical choices. As far as narrative I feel Sara is the better fit for the role of pathfinder. She seems to be the "doer" while Scott is more of the dreamer. Sara not only provided security for Prothean research sites and saw action defending them she also handled and researched Prothean technology. Scott on the other had acts as security for a relay, sees some action, and dreams/questions what is on the other side of the relay. He also tends to sleep in, the slacker! After playing Scott first it was a surprise how much Sara talked about her experience with Prothean research sites and drew on it while discovering the Kett, and Remnant. It really added a bit more weight to Sara's comments since she was drawing from experience where as with Scott, while he shared similar observations, they were more guess work and often shorter when compared to Sara's. Yeah I've felt that Scott is better for E/C and Sara for L/P (well I played E/C Sara and wasn't satisfied). Both are suited for the role of the pathfinder but because of the fitting personality options Scott is more of a "okay guys, we got this" and Sara is a "okay guys, here's the plan".

It is an auto conversation while on Habitat 7 with Liam, before meeting up with Cora. He mentions fighting off pirates at the relay after Liam tells Ryder that he handles himself well in combat. Sara had similar auto dialog with Liam about fighting Batarians while defending research sites, and later she had a second instance of auto dialog where she mentioned fighting pirates. I got the impression she may have seen more combat then Scott, since he only mentions the one instance.

The second auto dialog happened when I found the second half of their shuttle, and defeated the Kett ambush.

I remember Scott was saying about fighting riders occasionally while Sara fought one or two batarian pirates. He was a mass relay guardian, she was with a team that dug up Prothean artifacts. Also, in game, Scott is a soldier type. If you want to fully enjoy exploration, you should play as Sara. I haven't played as Scott yet, but those who played both says Sara has more exploring dialogue options at least with Anagara.

It honestly sounds like the twins were set up to have pretty much the same experience, just in different ways. Which is about what I expected, because it would have brought some serious side-eye from folks if there was a real implication that Sara just sat in the corner and giggled at the dirt while Scott did the manly gun-slinging. Codex/dialogue/etc gave me the impression that both of them were new recruits coming off their first tours where they saw a bit of action, but were not exactly battle-hardened like Shepard or dear old dad. Just lucky for Sara, I guess, that she really liked seeing the stuff the scientists she guarded dug up.

During my playthrough, I seem to recall Sara also mentioning having dealt with minefields while peacekeeping for the Alliance. Not sure if this is specific to her or not (haven't gotten that far with Scott yet), or part of a tour of duty unrelated to the one spent guarding research sites? (As an aside, while there's nothing canon to support this, does anyone else roleplay Sara as being more interested in science than Scott?)

My next Sara though will likely be more half and half though in that she's interested in science and will develop a soft spot for Suvi but at the same time she'll also recognise after what happened on Habitat 7 if they are to establish themselves in Heleus they're going to need to be able defend themselves and any outposts and colonies that get set up.
