I don't have the will power to not be able to play a Mass Effect game the day it comes out, so yes.

No... there are only a handful of companies I even consider pre-ordering games from, and that list get's shorter every year.
Got burned too many times.

I already pre-ordered the collector's edition with the steelbook and the remote control car, does that count?

Preordered the digital version as soon as it went up on PSN. Super Deluxe version. Considering double dipping for PC. Bioware and Naughty Dog are the only devs that haven't disappoint me yet.
Only preorder gamble I took this gen is for Horizon: Zero Dawn. I was never a fan of Guerrilla Games but they got my full attention now.

Of course not. I see a lot of people will never learn, they keep saying "it's the last one, if they fail I'll never preorder again". and they keep saying that for years now. I'm not talking just ME, but games in general. If you're a gamer you should know by now not to preorder any game.

I stuck with them through 2 trilogies, and both turned out to have weak endings. So, no orders from me until they proof they can still make quality products.

Yes I'm going to preorder. Probably the digital version since I dont think I can stand waiting for the store to open. I've been reading through the comments and theres one thing I dont understand. Why would you wait to buy this game? What I mean by this is you either like something or you dont. For example take the Final Fantasy series. For some they have played it since the first iteration and dont care about what other people think. They will play it and enjoy it and thats the end of it.
I dont need someone elses opinion to figure out whether I'm going to enjoy something or not. It's me whos playing it not them. I honestly dont think you can rely on other people as a marker for your own personal enjoyment value because its personal to you.

I honestly dont think you can rely on other people as a marker for your own personal enjoyment value because its personal to you. Because that will let developers know you trust them no matter what crap they have done in the past. I'm not specifically talking about Bioware atm, but generally. Which means they can do whatever they want and get away with it, because they know people only complain, but can't walk the talk. That's why companies have no problems resorting to shady business decisions like day one dlcs, microtransactions in single player game (*cough* Deus Ex *cough*), selling cut content that should be part of the package for extra money (*cough* Total war series *cough*) etc etc... Many companies were doing so fine not that long ago without these stupid greedy decisions, otherwise they wouldn't come so far and even make a big name of themselves, but all of sudden they can't make money without being greedy assholes? If you really like game, you can always buy it after release. If enough people would do that, companies would see they can't sell so many special/limited editions anymore, they can't get money in advance anymore, they are losing trust of their customers, their customers are getting more cautious with their purchases which could mean they could eventually even stop buying from them etc. Then maybe these companies would think things through and decide to make quality products again that are worth your money and not try to milk every penny out of their customer while releasing half broken and half finished games. Again, this is not about Bioware specifically or about what happened to ME3 (because I know people will accuse me of that). We had plenty of terrible and disappointing releases lately. It's not even just gaming industry. Every company in any branch have to respect their customers and provide quality products if they want to be competitive. But of course people make that more and more easy for them to play dirty, so there you go. There are tons of games out there, but no, you gotta get this certain game at exactly that date and hour. You waited years for the release, but you can't possibly wait another day or few hours. Also, I had a giggle at your quote "Why would you wait to buy this game? What I mean by this is you either like something or you dont." You know, people also liked NMS, but they were very unpleasently surprised once they got the game in their hands. If you think you know the game by one trailer, then i don't know what to tell you. I thought every gamer figured by now it's impossible to judge the game by trailer alone. For me, trailers just help me determine if game looks promising or not. If I like trailer, I know I'll keep an eye on that game, not that I will surely buy it. I can understand if you preordered Dark Souls 3 for example, since streamers could play big chunk of the game and show it to whole world like it is, two weeks before release. Or Star Citizen, on which you have insane amount of all kind of videos talking about the game, showing gameplay and you had a chance to even try it for free at some point. Anyway, you'll do what you'll do, I'm just giving my opinion and wondering how people can get fucked the same way multiple times.

While I agree with your points I think one of the biggest disconnects that a lot of people have and I include myself is there are a lot of people that don't look at it the same way we do. Alien: Colonial Marines with all the bad press and discussion around it the game still sold over over 1.3 million copies. I just wish people would acknowledge there are people that look at the things we don't like about the game industry and don't have the same problems with it.

I didn't pre-ordered any of the Mass Effect games (I pre-ordered all the Dragon Age ones though).
I might pre-order MEA, I haven't decided yet. The thing with pre-ordering is that you can do it just a few days before the game release with digital version.

Preordered. The theme could definitely be better. I'd prefer more or a shot of space than a big shot of the N7 bubble helmet. Heck maybe a dynamic space shot of the Tempest.

No, and it pains me to see so many people being dumb enough to pre-order it.
And no, this isn't me bashing ME:A, this is me bashing people who pre-order in general.
Pre-ordering in this day and age is fucking stupid, it's a scam, you're being scammed out if your money for a product that isn't even complete yet (and might not even be complete and fully functional at the day of launch).
Pre-ordering used to be a thing in the 90's because of limited supply and high demand. Games would often sell out quickly, sometimes within a few hours, so stores would offer the option to pre-order so you'd be certain you'd get a copy on day 1.
But today, the supply of videogames is plenty high, and most people buy their games digitally, of which the supply is unlimited. So there really isn't any reason to pre-order and you're fucking stupid if you're doing it.
